"Auden my boy are you alright" Dumbledore asked while Pomfrey used her wand to check whether Auden was hit by any curses or spells.
The moment Auden reported that he was attacked to McGonagall, she immediately brought him to Dumbledore who called all the teachers to meet in the headmaster's office.
This was the second instance of a student being attacked this year and thankfully he was not harmed due to his quick reflexes.
"Auden my boy, did you see who attacked you" Professor Flitwick asked softly. But everyone was able to feel the anger hidden in his voice. Auden was one of the best students that he ever taught plus he was also one of the smartest students to ever walk into Ravenclaw.
Seeing one of the students of his house being attacked had actually made the teacher think about polishing his duelling skills on the attacker.
"No professor. The guy was wearing some kind of cover. But I am sure it was a male and an adult. He ran away the moment I dodged the first attack. And so, I came straight to Professor McGonagall whose room was nearby" Auden reported as Pomfrey patted his shoulders signalling that the boy was alright.
"Well at least the boy's got a good head on his shoulders unlike a few idiots who might have ran after the adult who attacked them at night" Snape commended from the side, but no one objected to it.
McGonagall had a twitch in her brow when she heard that, but she cannot deny that some of her house members would have done exactly what Snape had just insinuated.
"And what about you. You had the gift of hearing the mixing of ingredients within a complicated potion. Don't tell me you only heard the attack and not someone sneaking behind you" Snape questioned Auden this time.
Auden scratched the back of his head with an embarrassed smile.
"Well, I was thinking about a few spells and was not giving attention to my surroundings at the time"
"Oh really, and what were you thinking about so much that you almost got attacked" Snape asked again. Auden was one of the students who were acknowledged by Snape, and he too was bit pissed at how Auden was treating the attempted attack that could have injured or killed him.
"Ah, well I was thinking about Thompson's theory in living being's transmutation" Auden replied without thinking too much.
But that answer instantly froze everyone except the Headmaster as he had monitored Auden checking that book in the restricted section of the Library.
But the other professors froze as they all knew those are certain research topics only available in the final years in Hogwarts and in the restricted section.
Snape immediately had a thought and asked Auden a question.
"What are the main ingredients of the Molten lava blume potion?"
"Fire salamander's gall bladder, Lumino flower seed and Rock snake's scales" Auden replied.
Snape had his brows slightly furrowed as he heard the answer. He immediately asked a few other questions to which Auden answered without making any mistakes. The teachers recognised the questions and after Snape asked a few more, they too began their round of questioning.
Auden did not hesitate to answer the questions, not knowing that he was falling into a small trap. And no, Auden was not using his system to answer the questions.
A few days before the end of Christmas.
"So, the fact about the tiara increasing intelligence was false" Auden asked as he inspected Rowena's diadem.
"Well, they must have simplified the real power. All it does is increase comprehension and memory while the diadem is worn. As long as you try to study anything while using it, you will remember it even after you remove the diadem. But it still did not reach the level I wanted it to and had a major flaw" Rowena said while shaking her head slightly.
"What was the flaw" Auden asked.
"Creativity Auden, Creativity. One of humanities greatest gifts. I made the diadem to give me new ideas, but I never manged to generate that ability in it. I am not denying that its impressive as it can help me study new discoveries easily. But other than that, its not that useful" Rowena said as she went back to her research.
Auden looked at the Diadem and then at his system, he then willed the system to create a detailed summary on his syllabus for the next seven years in Hogwarts.
He smiled, now he can use the time he has in the academy to plan for his future steps. If he finishes the entire theory of the course early, he won't even have to do too much for the exams.
And back to present.
Auden was now answering the questions put forward by the professors to show that he had a reason to go into the restricted section. But the teachers were getting horrified at the way Auden was accurately answering the questions.
"Auden" finally McGonagall interrupted "Did you study all the syllabus of Hogwarts"
"Well, I only studied the theories and so I don't know how I will do in the practical of potions and herbology. Plus, the care of animal creatures, is something I have to do myself" Auden replied.
The teachers were frozen in shock at the revelation. Even Snape had no words to say after he processed what Auden had done. Even Dumbledore finally had an expression of bafflement and was not even able to say anything to that.
"And how did you get the permission to get into the restricted section again" Flitwick asked but the other professors can see that he was trying to change the subject for now. As none of them are ready to deal with Auden's capabilities while he was in front of them.
"Ah well" Auden scratched the back of his head again. This time while feeling a bit of shame. "I managed to convince Professor Lockheart to give me one by asking him a few questions and telling him that he would want me to find the answers myself as he is an excellent instructor who wants his students to rise up by themselves"
And he suddenly got whacked in the back of his head by Pomphrey.
