The next day, the village was as peaceful as always, the White blooms bloomed in the village, and on the centre of the village, people walk left and right carrying bricks, woods, hammer and other tools and amidst the work. There he was, sitting on a bench with his clothes hung from his shoulder and staring at the materials quality Merlin had sended him.
"They're all quite the quality..." he said, folding the paper and tucking it in his pocket, as he was sitting there watching the construction of the two parks, one for commoners and one for nobles, a man with a slightly wrinkled face approached.
"Chief, the money needed for the construction is not enough!" the man said, Free paused for a minute scanning for any sign of exploits, but after a while of staring he tales out a golden check, Utto had personally gave him amd scribbled some numbers and hands it to the man.
"Here!" he handed the check to the man, the guy bowed and went back to work while Free pulled a nearby worker. "Hey, i have a job for you..." he whispered, the guy who was just walking holding a hammer leaned in.
"Yes" he said, Free mumbled some word in the guy's ear and handed him a piece of paper and some silver coins.
"Alright chief, let me handle this!!!" the guy yelled and ran off toward the direction of the manager that came asking for more money earlier.
On the other hand, the manager was sitting on the bench of the noble section which was painted with a flashy color, the guy Free sended came and handed him the piece of paper, the manager snatch the paper and read it.
"So, you're my assistant?" he asked, the guy gave a nod and the manager sighed. 'That damn bastard!' he thought.
Free on the other hand was walking back home with his batch neatly tucked on his chest. At home, Sylvia and Lina were cooking lunch while Iris and Hinata were sparring on the garden watched by Hina and Elina from the side.
"I'll win" Iris yelled, charging with wild swing at Hinata, but Hinata was skilled. She easily dodge the attacks and counter it with a. Pok!. On Iris head, she fell to the ground, grabbing her head. "Owowowowowowo that hurt!!!" she shouted.
"A match is a match" Hinata replied, sitting under the Root tree with sweat dripping down her face.
"Woah!! You were so cool!!" Hina yelled with sparkling eyes. "You were like woosh! Weew! Fooosh! And thwack!" Hina mimicked Hinata's move trying to swing the wooden sword like Hinata did, but.... Her posture was too stiff.
"You were so cool!" Elina praised, while Iris pouted on the spot she was knock down.
"Everyone, Lunch is ready~!" Sylvia's voice came from under the house, everyone hearing it ran inside the house, which the soup, bread and tea were already set.
"Eat slowly" Lina said without looking but her words were only heard by Elina and Sylvia, the three ate the food like tbey did get food for days and finish it in no time.
"SECOND!!!" the three yelled in sync with foods on their mouth, they looked at each other and laughed, while Lina slide a hand down her face in annoyance.
After the three were full, they ran outside again because Iris wanted a rematch after her stomach was full. And the sound of wood contacting with eachother echoed from the garden.
"A-anyway, Free is late isn't he?" Sylvia said, Lina nodded looking outside the dining table's window.
Free on the other hand was talking with Hemire, they crossed path earlier while Free was returning.
"Quite the clever mind you have there!" the former chief complimented, Free scratch his cheek in slight embarassment.
"Well, i can't let exploitative people run loose" Free replied, and Hemire gave a nod, their talk went on about for sometime like the parties and other things, until the real serious talk begun. Hemire's face darken as he oppen his mouth to talk.
"So, the princes and other ministers are coming the mext week?" Hemire ask, Free gave a nod with his face clearly visible with annoyance.
"Yeah, i couldn't refuse them off anymore, they said this village is too big to be considered a village now" Free said, kicking a rock on the ground.
"Well, we can only pray the king acknowledge you" Hemire said before walking away, Free stand there staring until Hemire completely fade in the distance.
"I hope so" he muttered, full of unease and discmfort even hearing the word of him getting removed if he isn't too suited or too young.
As he walked back to his home, the sound of wood echoing came, Free tilt his eye staring around but there was no one around, he was just walking back when the same guy who he promote into his assistant earlier came running.
"Chief!!! A good news!!!" He yelled, stopping a few feet away with heavy breath. "Yo-you were right, the manager is taking your money to himself" he informed.
"Oh really?" Free muttered, the guy gave a nod, he placing his hand on his lips, he grinned with a grin of someone who had already planned everything. "I see, thank you for your help" he said, giving the guy some gold coin and walked back home, with his thought brewing in his mind. 'That manager is gonna pay' he thought.
He reach home and the sound of woods were actually from Hinata and Iris's spar, they were soarring continously with sweat pouring down both of their face and Hina cheering from the side With Lina & Elina.
"Oh, you're late, dear...." A dark voice rang on his ear, he turned and walk to the direction and Sylvia was in the dining table with her lunch cold and Free's too, she was mad.
"A-ah, S-S-Sy-Sylvia, i-i w-was di-discussing something wi-with H-Hemire!! I sw-swear" hesitant Words came out from his mouth , Sylvia stared at him for a while longer and then smiled.
"Okay okay,no need to tremble" she said, taking the plates filled with food to the kitchen.
"Where are you taking them?" he asked, staring at her walking back to the kitchen.
"To heat then of course" she said, Free takes a breath of relief and sat down on the chair.
"Atleast i won't starve" he muttered,relief washing his face, Free may have been intelligent and strong but he still didn't have enough courage to stand against his calm wife when she is angry.
