Chapter 55 – Ōtsutsuki Kaguya
The sixty-fourth year since the founding of Konohagakure.
Uchiha Itachi, a graduate of the Sacred Arts Academy, had just completed his first special-rank SS mission—a mission personally assigned to him by his mentor, Hatake Kyūjō.
The task: to defeat none other than the ancestor of the Uchiha Clan himself—Uchiha Madara.
And he did.
After the battle, Itachi carried Madara's defeated body back to the Academy, where he presented it directly to the Head of the Department of Biological Sciences—Professor Orochimaru.
Six years passed since that day.
Now, both Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke had reached graduation standards from the Sacred Arts Academy. Their strength had long surpassed the limits ever recorded in the history of shinobi. They were no longer just "geniuses" of their generation—they were beings who stood at the threshold of godhood.
And on this day, Hatake Kyūjō led his two finest disciples on their final mission—one that would decide the fate of the entire world.
Together, they activated their combat exosuits—the Gundam modes—and tore through the fabric of space-time itself, emerging on the surface of the Moon, where Ōtsutsuki Kaguya had been sealed for millennia.
Having opened his Sage Mode and awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan—which granted him the full form of Susanoo—Kyūjō could survive freely in the vacuum of space.
Ordinary beings could never last here. Only those with an Eternal Sage Body, capable of endlessly absorbing natural energy, could exist in such a realm.
As for the Ōtsutsuki, their physiology was far from ordinary. Their bodies had been born from the void of space itself—adapted to survive the cold silence between stars.
Naruto no longer carried Kurama within him. But Hatake Kyūjō had replaced the beast's chakra with something far more powerful—the Dragon Vein, an ancient and infinite energy source hidden deep beneath the ruins of Rōran.
In the original timeline, the Dragon Vein was said to possess a chakra reserve rivaling the power of a tailed beast.
And now, with full mastery over Sage Mode and the boundless flow of Dragon Vein energy, Naruto had surpassed even his original self from the legends.
Gone were the days when Rasengan was his only trump card.
Sasuke, on the other hand, wielded power that combined the legacy of the Uchiha bloodline and the genius of forbidden science. Thanks to years of experimentation led by Orochimaru—and the personal blessing of the Sage of Six Paths—Sasuke's Mangekyō had evolved into a flawless Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
From that foundation, his eyes had blossomed into a pair of perfect Rinnegan—a divine gift from the creator of ninjutsu himself.
— — —
The Moon was a silent wasteland now.
The descendants of Ōtsutsuki Hamura who once lived here had long been relocated by Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo to a hidden realm, a sanctuary isolated from the flow of time—just like the Three Great Sage Lands.
Without hesitation, Hatake Kyūjō clenched his fist and thrust it into the lunar surface.
A devastating shockwave erupted outward.
The entire moon shuddered as the Six Paths Chibaku Tensei seal shattered beneath his strike. The explosion of light and chakra split the heavens as the ancient prison broke open.
And from within the fragments of the Moon—emerged Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
The Rabbit Goddess, progenitor of chakra, the being worshiped and feared as the mother of all ninjutsu—was free once again.
But before she could even comprehend what had happened—Hatake Kyūjō made his next move.
He released the Ten-Tails' chakra, sealed within him for decades, letting the divine energy flow toward Kaguya like a tidal wave—an offering for her to absorb.
Kaguya blinked, dazed and disoriented. Her consciousness was still cloudy after nearly a thousand years of imprisonment.
Where is Black Zetsu? she thought in alarm.
From her vantage point above the world, she could sense no trace of her son. No activation of the Infinite Tsukuyomi. No manipulation of humanity. Nothing.
Who were these three?
Why had they broken her seal?
Why did nothing match the plan she had left behind millennia ago?
Confusion turned into silent fury. Without a word, she attempted to open her dimensional portal—Yomotsu Hirasaka—to flee the battlefield.
But the instant she moved—
Hatake Kyūjō raised his hand. With a single motion, he flicked the back of his knuckles against the empty air above him.
A sound echoed through the void—like shattering glass.
An impossibility, since sound could not travel in space. Yet it reverberated through their minds like the ringing of a divine bell.
Kaguya's eyes widened in horror. Her Rinnegan powers… were gone.
No—it wasn't that she'd lost them.
The dimensions themselves were breaking apart.
The space around them fractured like a mirror under immense pressure. The field had been overwritten by Kyūjō's power—his Infinity System had neutralized every spatial coordinate in existence.
Even Yomotsu Hirasaka could no longer penetrate the sealed realm.
Kaguya froze. She could not comprehend this level of control.
Her millennium of dominance, her divine lineage—all of it meant nothing before this man.
Kyūjō sighed softly.
For all her godhood, Kaguya's intelligence and combat instincts were painfully shallow. Even without spatial lockdown, Sasuke and Naruto could have handled her.
But he refused to risk the shinobi world being caught in the crossfire—or worse, allow Kaguya a chance to return and revive the God Tree.
This fight would end here, far beyond the reach of life.
— — —
Kyūjō turned to his two disciples, his voice echoing directly in their minds.
"Sasuke. Naruto. This will be your final graduation exam."
He gestured toward the goddess before them.
"Your opponent is Ōtsutsuki Kaguya—the Rabbit Goddess, the progenitor of chakra. If you can defeat her… I can finally leave this world in peace."
His tone softened.
"No burdens. No regrets. I believe in both of you. Now go—show me the strength of the next generation."
Naruto and Sasuke exchanged a glance. Though they didn't fully understand what Kyūjō meant by "leave" or "burden," their hearts were already ablaze.
With a nod, they activated their Gundam modes once more and launched forward—twin comets streaking across the void, colliding head-on with the goddess of chakra.
The battle began.
A clash that lit the heavens.
— — —
For three full days, the fight raged on across the stars.
But this was no repeat of history.
Under Kyūjō's tutelage, Naruto and Sasuke fought with perfect unity. Each strike, each feint, each burst of chakra was precise and devastating. Their synergy was beyond flawless—one heart, one purpose.
And without that one noisy deadweight from the original tale, there were no distractions—only pure, calculated destruction.
Kaguya was overwhelmed.
For three days and nights, she was battered across lunar plains and meteor fields, but her body—tempered by the Shinju fruit—was practically indestructible.
No matter how much she bled, her wounds regenerated instantly. Her divine body refused to die.
Eventually, both Naruto and Sasuke came to the same grim realization.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya could not be killed.
She could only be sealed.
And so, side by side, they gathered the full might of their Six Paths chakra and unleashed Chibaku Tensei at its highest level.
Once again, the Rabbit Goddess was imprisoned—reborn as the Moon itself, an eternal satellite to watch silently over the world she once tried to consume.
— — —
When the battle was done, Naruto and Sasuke returned to Kyūjō's side.
Their mentor stood quietly, arms crossed, a faint warmth flickering in his eyes.
He spoke to them through thought, his voice calm and proud.
"Good work. You've both done well. From here on, the world of shinobi… belongs to you."
Naruto opened his mouth to protest, but Kyūjō raised his hand to silence them.
"There will still be dangers after I'm gone," he continued softly. "Do not grow complacent."
"For the position of Headmaster of the Sacred Arts Academy… Sasuke, tell your brother I'd like him to take my place."
His gaze softened further.
"Take care of each other. Take care of this world."
"…Goodbye, Naruto. Goodbye, Sasuke."
With that, Hatake Kyūjō lifted his hand.
The fractured space around them shimmered and slowly healed, as though reality itself were exhaling.
And in the next instant—
Hatake Kyūjō's body faded into the light of the stars, vanishing beyond their reach.
The god of the shinobi world… was gone.
