Chapter 56 – The Ōtsutsuki Clan
The moment Hatake Kyūjō vanished from view, something else occurred—quietly, without anyone noticing. The freshly re-sealed Kaguya Ōtsutsuki was taken away with him.
There were two reasons Kyūjō chose to bring Kaguya along.
The first, was to use her as a guide—his personal compass to the homeworld of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
The second, was his decision to do it in secret… without telling Naruto or Sasuke.
Why? Because Kyūjō wanted them to remain cautious.
He wanted them to never forget that somewhere—beyond the skies of the ninja world—there still existed an enemy who could never be killed… only sealed.
— — —
But to Kyūjō, Kaguya was no longer an untouchable goddess who could only be sealed.
After rigorous training across three different worlds, after fusing body, soul, and spirit into a singular existence capable of harnessing the celestial power of Starforce, Kyūjō had reached a realm far beyond even Kaguya's.
He had become someone who could erase her completely—with ease.
Because no matter how powerful one's chakra might be, if their consciousness was shattered, then that energy would become nothing more than a masterless storm.
And right now… Kaguya was trembling.
Her face was flushed with fear.
She had initially refused to reveal the coordinates of the Ōtsutsuki homeworld. But after Kyūjō unleashed his Starforce and vaporized a third of her body in an instant—obliterating a part of her consciousness in the process—
For the first time in her eternal existence, Kaguya felt genuine terror.
She yielded.
Silently, she stood before Kyūjō, now his obedient guide, leading him toward the ancient world of the Ōtsutsuki.
— — —
There was a reason she had refused to return to her home planet.
She was afraid.
Afraid of two specific beings within the Ōtsutsuki Main Family.
You see, the number of living Ōtsutsuki across the universe was astonishingly low. Their clan had nearly vanished.
Only a handful of branch family members remained scattered across distant worlds.
And as for the Main Family… Kaguya had only ever met two of them. She had merely heard whispers of the third.
Kaguya herself was from the Branch Family. Thousands of years ago, to escape being sacrificed to the God Tree by a Main Family member—Ōtsutsuki Isshiki—she betrayed him.
She stabbed him in the back, stole the Chakra Fruit meant for the Main Family, and devoured it.
Such treason would be punished without mercy.
If the truth were ever discovered… if the Main Family knew she had stolen what was rightfully theirs… then she would be hunted, again and again, without end.
Kaguya had no fear toward the other branch members—she had evolved beyond them.
But the two from the Main Family…
They terrified her.
The first was Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki.
Long ago, Kaguya had secretly created an army of one hundred thousand White Zetsu, preparing for the day Momoshiki might descend upon the shinobi world.
The army was never used. But the mere fact that she made it—that she needed it—was proof enough of her fear.
Even after eating the Chakra Fruit, Kaguya wasn't confident she could win against him.
The other Main Family member was even more legendary…
Ōtsutsuki Shibai.
(Also known in some records as Ōtsutsuki Yabai—same person, different name.)
Before Kaguya and Isshiki ever came to the ninja world, Shibai had already disappeared for thousands of years.
No one had seen him since.
Kaguya had only ever heard of him through whispers—fragments of hushed conversation passed between branch family members.
If he was still alive… if he was still out there…
Even the thought of it made her legs weak.
— — —
Ōtsutsuki Shibai.
The one said to be closest to godhood.
A man with long white hair, dressed in dark robes, his head adorned with twin crown-like horns.
He possessed the Byakugan, the Rinnegan, and wielded a multitude of Divine Techniques—mystic arts that transcended chakra itself.
He had devoured countless Chakra Fruits across millennia, evolving without end.
In time, he became a living myth—a being feared even among the Ōtsutsuki.
A creature so powerful, some believed he had transcended mortality entirely.
— — —
As Kaguya described him, her voice trembled.
Kyūjō remained silent for a moment, stroking his chin in thought.
Of course, he'd heard of Shibai. Even in the anime world, Shibai was considered the "god" of the Ōtsutsuki.
But now, seeing Kaguya—a woman feared across all dimensions—shake at the mere memory of him…
Kyūjō couldn't help but scoff inwardly.
So what if he was strong?
Until they fought, it meant nothing.
Kyūjō had come this far relying on no one but himself.
He had no reason to doubt his strength—no matter who stood in his path.
— — —
And so, the journey continued.
They traveled through the void between stars, ignoring the passage of time. After what seemed like an eternity…
They arrived.
A giant golden planet floated before them, glowing faintly in the cosmic dark.
The ancestral homeworld of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
— — —
"We're here…" Kaguya whispered. "You've seen your destination. Will you uphold your promise now? Let me go—I swear, I won't return to the ninja world…"
Her voice was filled with fear.
Kyūjō nodded, then pressed his palm to her forehead. A shimmering Starforce seal bloomed over her Rinnegan.
"This seal won't harm you—as long as you keep your word," he said calmly. "Go. Leave. I won't stop you."
Sensing powerful chakra signatures stirring on the planet below, Kyūjō gave her one last glance before descending.
And he truly meant it.
To him… Kaguya was just a pitiful soul.
— — —
As for the Ōtsutsuki and their habit of devouring planets… Kyūjō didn't see it as pure evil.
Perhaps it was simply the will of the universe—a kind of cosmic balance.
Just like the Gods of Destruction in other worlds. Not evil… just fulfilling their role.
Maybe this was the universe's way of lightening its burden.
Still, he shook his head.
Those thoughts didn't matter right now.
— — —
One year passed.
And Kyūjō left the Ōtsutsuki homeworld—now reduced to rubble.
But he hadn't wiped out the clan.
He only killed Momoshiki and a few others whose strength rivaled Kaguya—because they were genuine threats to the future of the shinobi world.
The rest, he spared.
Because in the end… they were just gears in a greater machine.
As for Shibai?
He wasn't there.
Kyūjō never found him.
— — —
And so, he began to wander.
From one star to the next.
From one world to another.
Absorbing nature energy, refining his Starforce, growing stronger with each passing age.
He met beings from every corner of the galaxy.
He explored ruined worlds and civilizations far older than his own.
But none of them… not a single one… could match him.
Years turned to centuries. Centuries to millennia.
How long had it been?
Even Kyūjō didn't know anymore.
Until one day—
In the quiet silence of deep space…
He felt it.
The presence of another being—one who stood on equal footing with him.
Without hesitation, Kyūjō surged forward, breaking through the fabric of space.
And from across the void…
That other being did the same.
Two divine existences—each a god in their own right—collided like twin stars…
And the universe trembled.
