Chapter 104 - 104. Demon Rabbit Meat

The contract clearly outlined the terms of the transaction between both parties. Moreover, it stipulated that once Kaito became a shareholder of Stormlife Guild and Crimson Rose, any contracted member who wished to terminate their agreement would be required to pay a proportional share of the compensation originally invested by Kaito. This clause was designed specifically to prevent players from leaving and exploiting identity loopholes.

Such incidents had occurred before. In one notable case, an investment company acquired shares in a rising guild, only for the guild's core members to withdraw and form a new faction under a different name. The loophole allowed them to escape contractual obligations, ultimately leading to the collapse of the investor's entire operation.

After the contract was finalized, Kaito, Zephyr, and Velena continued negotiating back and forth. In the end, Kaito agreed to sell ten batches of Minor Regeneration Potions to both Stormlife Guild and Crimson Rose, a batch having ten bottles, effectively depleting the stock he had crafted earlier. Each potion was sold at a price of 30 copper coins per bottle.

They even placed advance orders for additional batches, agreeing to purchase more as soon as Kaito restocked.

Suddenly, the majority of their guild's liquid assets had transferred to Raen—a full ten gold coins!

"Will you be selling any of those gold coins? I'll buy them at double the market price!" Zephyr blurted out, feeling a sharp pang of regret as he watched his guild's strategic funds disappear.

These were critical resources for the early stage of the game. Even Velena glanced over at him with a slightly tense expression.

After all, gold was scarce—the game's currency output was limited, while expenses for equipment, repairs, and development were incredibly high. Worse yet, the top-up channels for real money were all closed, and barely anyone was selling enough currency on the open market.

While Kaito was still thinking of a way to politely refuse, a memory suddenly surfaced.

He recalled a quest that had once gone viral on the forums in his previous life. It started when a priest stumbled upon an NPC endlessly collecting demon rabbit meat. Quietly, the priest began purchasing the meat from players to complete the quest in secret.

It wasn't until a group of observant thieves followed him that the secret got out—and the quest blew up across the player base.

Kaito's eyes narrowed slightly.

I think a group should be starting to farm Level 11 to 12 Demonic Rabbits right about now…

He looked at Zephyr and Velena. "I can't sell the gold," he said calmly, "but if you've got any Demonic Rabbit Meat, I'll buy all of it—50 coppers per stack, a stack having hundred pieces, I require it to finish my mission."

At the mention of the word "mission," Zephyr and Velena exchanged glances and didn't press further.

They both suspected the meat had some hidden use—but since the opportunity clearly lay in Kaito's hands, there was nothing they could do.

Their guild's average level had now reached 10, and many members were already hunting demonic rabbits outside the ranch. As a result, they had accumulated a sizable stockpile of rabbit meat. If all of it could be exchanged for coin, the guild would no doubt welcome the profit.

"Marek," Zephyr turned decisively to his vice leader, "have our people collect all available rabbit meat at 30 copper per stack and deliver it here within five minutes."

Demonic rabbit meat wasn't a strategic resource—losing it posed no long-term disadvantage. Even if it was sold off entirely, they could easily replenish it.

At the same time, Velena gave similar instructions to Revera.

Kaito quickly exchanged 10 gold coins' worth of funds for stacks of demonic rabbit meat. He also took out an additional 1 gold coin and 80 silver coins from his inventory and handed them over to the two guilds.

Stormlife Guild and Crimson Rose suddenly found themselves flush with both potions and liquidity—all thanks to a pile of rabbit meat that had been rotting in their warehouses, gathering dust.

Meanwhile, Kaito walked away with an enormous cache of demonic rabbit meat, which he could exchange for ten times its purchase price in game currency. It was a classic win-win—cleaning out deadweight from their inventory and converting it into value.

....

After leaving the Glade Flame Tavern, Kaito acted immediately, hurrying toward the temple at the center of town. As part of the Solaris Kingdom—a kingdom devoted to the God of Light—every town contained a shrine or temple dedicated to the Light God.

These temples regularly issued exclusive quests for Priests and Paladins, acting as a form of compensation for their slower leveling speed. In fact, in his previous life, it was a Priest who had first discovered this particular quest and after which it spread to the wider player base.

As Kaito stepped inside, the warm radiance of holy light washed over him, calming his thoughts. A notification appeared as he entered:

[New Buff Acquired: Devout Believer — Stamina Regeneration +10%]

"I almost forgot about this buff," Kaito murmured. "If you're ever worn out your stamina, you can come here to rest."

He nodded slightly and glanced deeper into the temple. At its heart stood a towering statue of the God of Light, before which a dozen NPC believers knelt in reverent worship. All around, priests and acolytes of the Light Cult moved gracefully—offering guidance, tending to the devotees, or issuing specialized quests to those aligned with the Light.

But Kaito ignored all of them.

His gaze swept the room until it landed on a figure seated in a quiet corner, eyes closed and murmuring a divine chant—Elder Faelion, a member of the Light Cult.

In his past life, when this quest was leaked on the forums, Kaito had already left South Glade Town and missed the chance. But this time would be different.

Approaching respectfully, Kaito spoke:

"Greetings, Elder Faelion. I heard you've been seeking demonic rabbit flesh. I happen to have acquired quite a bit. Would you be willing to take it?"

Elder Faelion's brows twitched as he opened his eyes. His expression turned severe.

Kaito was about to take out the demon rabbit flesh when he saw Elder Faelion's brow furrow. He felt annoyed. "Damn, are we straying from the script?"

"Young one, allow me to correct your misunderstanding," he said with a firm voice. "I am not buying the meat of those cursed creatures. Rather, I cannot allow the evil aura of the demonic rabbits to taint South Glade Town any longer! My purpose is purification!"

To the NPCs of Glory, players were "God's Blessed Ones"—immortal souls created by the divine. That strangeness often caused them to view quests and logic differently.

Kaito breathed a small sigh of relief—it was still within expectations. But he couldn't help frowning inwardly.

If the goal is purification, why not simply assign a quest to eliminate the demonic rabbits? Why go through the trouble of collecting their flesh afterward? Paladins already possess purification skills…

"Ah—yes! My apologies, I misspoke!" Kaito quickly bowed his head in mock reverence. "How could a noble Saint of Light ever purchase such vile filth? I can see the unwavering brilliance of the Light in your eyes, Elder Faelion. May the blessings of the divine ever be upon you!"

He threw together a few exaggerated lines of reverence, and to his relief, Elder Faelion's stern expression finally eased. With a gentle flick of his fingers, a faint golden glow shimmered in the air—signaling the issuance of a quest.

New Quest Received: [Demonic Purification]

Quest Description:

Collect demon rabbit meat tainted with demonic energy. Elder Faelion, a revered Saint of Light, seeks to purify these remnants to prevent their corruption from spreading further. In return, he will reward you accordingly.

"Yes!" Kaito's eyes lit up. That's the quest!

He knew the conditions well. As long as he remained within South Glade Town—and Elder Faelion remained at his post—the quest would remain active indefinitely. It was a renewable goldmine.

Without hesitation, Kaito began handing over stacks of demonic rabbit meat.

A satisfied smile formed on Kaito's face as he watched his copper coin count tick upward. It wasn't flashy—but the margins were clean, and the quantity… overwhelming.

The 5 copper coins per piece were merely the reward for common-grade demon rabbit meat. But as the quality increased, so did the returns—multiplying tenfold for elite-tier meat. A single elite rabbit's flesh could fetch a reward of 50 copper coins.

That was exactly why Kaito had already instructed Zephyr and Velena to gather as much meat as possible—not just from the common rabbits, but from the elite variants as well. As long as it was from a demonic rabbit, he would take it.
