Chapter 105 - 105. Reunion

Demon Rabbit Meat was practically worthless in the early stages of the game—so much so that even the system store refused to buy it.

Only a handful of players who had picked up the Cooking subclass would occasionally purchase it, and even then, for no more than 50 copper per set—and only in very limited quantities.

However, Elder Faelion's quest changed everything. A single set of demon rabbit meat from him could be exchanged for 500 copper coins. The sheer price gap was enough to make Kaito a fortune.

System Prompt: Mist Petal has sent you a friend request.

A small smile tugged at Kaito's lips.

That was his fourth aunt's ID.

Just seeing it was enough to tell—it had definitely been picked by Aika.

Accept.

"Kaito we have already entered South Glade Town."

Before Kaito could reply.

System Prompt: Storm Root has sent you a friend request.

System Prompt: Crimson Wisp has sent you a friend request.

System Prompt: Dawn Medic has sent you a friend request.

System Prompt: Iron Will has sent you a friend request.

System Prompt: Steady Stone has sent you a friend request.

System Prompt: Blade Howl has sent you a friend request.

Kaito thought for a moment remembering these Id's were of his grandparents, parents and uncles which aika had sent in a message before.

Accept.

Blade Howl: Brat! Looks like you've made quite a name for yourself in this game. I saw the forums. Even your old uncle here is impressed.

Steady Stone: Third, let the kid enjoy himself for a bit. Now that we're all here, looks like we'll be hogging the spotlight. What a burden it is, being an expert. *sigh*

Crimson Wisp: You two, stop behaving like children and quit teasing my grandson. Honestly, how old are you both again?

Dawn Medic: Mother's right. Kaito's worked hard. Don't go making a fuss just to show off.

Iron Will: Let them be. Their bickering brings life to the party. Besides, I've missed this.

Storm Root: Tch. I still don't get why people enjoy these kinds of games... but fine, I'll join for now.

Crimson Wisp: Bold words from someone who was clearly having fun bullying monsters half his level.

Looks like everyone's having fun, Kaito thought, scrolling through the lively family chat.

They were lucky.

When his family joined Glory, his fourth aunt and her team of thirty players—who had come together in a single Novice Village—had helped power level them so they could reach South Glade together. But that wasn't all. They'd also brought along all 227 of the family guards.

Kaito chuckled.

Initially, his father and uncles had stubbornly refused any assistance. With the pride of seasoned veterans who had dominated the virtual worlds of their youth, they scoffed at the idea of needing help.

"We were experts back then. How hard can a new game be?" they'd said.

His fourth aunt, of course, had let them do as they pleased—fully aware of Glory's brutal mechanics. She hadn't said a word to stop them.

What followed was a tragic comedy.

Within hours, the once-proud trio had been thoroughly humbled, beaten down by even the most basic monsters. Whether it was being chased across the map by rabid boars or getting wiped by a group of Forest Jackals, they couldn't land a clean blow, let alone survive. Skills missed. Aggro was mishandled. Death penalties piled up.

Only after being ground into the dirt did they finally return to ask for help.

And his fourth aunt? She'd relished every moment.

She told Kaito about it with a gleeful grin—how those three once-arrogant "experts" had been forced to swallow their pride. Being several levels higher, she had taken charge, barking orders and commanding them like a raid leader. Just watching their reluctant, bitter expressions as they followed her lead had brought her more satisfaction than any dungeon boss ever could.

"I've waited years for this," she'd said. "This is payback for every time they ignored my calls and mocked my builds when we were kids."

This was what she had said.

After knowing they all were here Kaito directly went towards the Town gate.

….

As Kaito approached the southern gate of South Glade Town, a stirring commotion caught his attention. A small crowd had gathered by the roadside, whispering and pointing.

He turned his gaze toward the gate.

From afar, he could see a formation of over two hundred people steadily marching into town, like a private army entering from the wilderness. They moved with surprising discipline for a group of new players, many equipped with decent early-game gear, weapons sheathed and bags filled with supplies.

At the head of the group was a tall woman with sharp eyes and a casual yet commanding stride. A familiar silhouette.

Kaito's lips curled upward.

His fourth aunt.

The expressions of the people entering town varied—some awed, some grinning ear to ear, others simply amazed. For many of them, this was their first time entering a major town in Glory. The towering walls, glowing crystal lights, and animated NPCs bustling at their posts—everything screamed realism.

Among the group, a few familiar faces stood out: his father, his two uncles, his mother, and... his grandparents.

As the group stepped inside the town's boundaries, his father muttered under his breath, still unable to hide the amazement in his voice. "This is insane. It's more realistic than any VR game we played in our youth."

His second uncle nodded. "Even the wind simulation and weight physics. Glory isn't just a game. It's a whole other world."

"Looks like the brat wasn't exaggerating after all," his father continued. He stared at the architecture and moving NPCs with a calculating glint in his eye. "This place has limitless business potential. With the right approach..."

While his father was already calculating investment prospects, the rest were busy marveling at the town's size and life-like detail which was totally an upgrade after leaving their novice villages.

Just then, Kaito's eyes widened.

An old woman had broken off from the group and was rushing toward him.

Behind her, a massive greatsword bounced with each step on her back, almost comically large in proportion to her petite frame.

He recognized her instantly.

His grandmother.

"Grandma?" he blurted, genuinely shocked.

Seeing the disbelief on his face, his grandfather erupted into laughter from the distance.

"I told you! Even he's stunned! And you kept saying no one would bat an eye."

His grandmother pouted but still smiled warmly as she reached Kaito and pulled him into a firm hug.

Kaito was still frozen. He had assumed she would pick a priest or mage class—something gentle, graceful, befitting her.

Instead... a Berserker?

He glanced back at the rest of his family now drawing closer.

His father was clad in polished silver-gray armor—the clear equipment of a Knight.

His grandfather wore a long silver coat with twin swords strapped across his back: a Swordsman.

His third uncle sported heavier gear and a massive axe at his side—a Warrior profession, clearly embracing raw melee combat.

His second uncle wore long flowing robes, the signature look of a Mage.

His mother smiled at him from behind the group, her face as serene as ever. Her soft white and blue robes confirmed her class: a Priestess.

Seeing all of them fully geared, Kaito felt a strange mixture of pride and amusement.

To avoid crowding the already bustling gate, he quickly waved them over.

"Let's move. Follow me. I know a quiet place where you can get used to things."

He led them out through one of the less-trafficked alleys and toward a wilderness zone just outside South Glade's western edge. Most higher-level players had already moved to advanced grinding zones, leaving this place relatively quiet.

The area was still teeming with monsters suitable for levels 10 to 11—specifically, Crown Rats.

Despite their name, these oversized rats bore gold-ringed tails and bone-like ridges on their backs, making them slightly tougher than regular mobs.
