Chapter 71 - EPISODE 71 — THE DRAGON THAT BOWED

The Morning Light over Vakerio Academy

The soft morning sunlight spilled across the ancient gates of the Vakerio Academy, golden rays glimmering off the runes etched into its surface. Shammroy stood before it, his coat fluttering gently in the breeze, flanked by Ferin and Querion. The warmth of the sun brushed their faces as they took their first step inside.

Inside, the air pulsed with energy — students sparring, casting sparks of magic, and channeling powers through glowing runic circles. Ferin's eyes darted from one group to another. Querion's mouth dropped slightly, dazzled.

Their steps halted when a familiar voice broke through the crowd. The same professor from before approached with a stern expression.

Professor gruffly,

"Who are you all? Where do you think you're going?"

Shammroy calm, polite smile,

"I just came to meet my brother."

Professor,

"Your brother? You know the rules, don't you? No visitor , not even family. This academy stands apart from the outer world. "

Shammroy,

"Yes, I do. But… this is urgent."

The professor squinted, his curiosity sharpening.

Professor,

"Ok , then ! Tell me his name."

Shammroy opened his mouth to reply — but before he could, the professor's tone softened as he recall something.

Professor,

"You're the one your brother spoke about. He's waiting for you… at the hill ground."

He pointed beyond the academy's edge — to a ridge lined with tall trees swaying in the wind.

Professor nodding,

"Go. He's waiting."

Shammroy,

"Thank you, sir."

Professor as they walk away,

But before you leave again… come back here."

Shammroy gave a light respected nod and moved forward with his team.

A Path of Silence and Secrets

As they walked through the long cobblestone trail, expect the sound of crunching leaves . Querion sighed dramatically his voice shattered the silence,

Querion grumbling,

"Fool! Why didn't you tell us you were meeting your brother? I thought we were about face something huge."

Ferin crossing his arms and nodded, his voice half-teasing, half-annoyed.

Ferin,

"Yeah. You keep doing things your way without letting us know what's next."

Querion ,

" Yeah, he is right! Like first time we met—when you dragged me into that insane fight , nearly died because of your 'plan'."

Ferin got shocked,

"Is it?"

Querion,

"Yes."

Shammroy chuckled lightly, rubbing his hair.

Shammroy,

"And what if I told you? What would you do then?"

Ferin shrugs,

"We'd prepare. Be stronger for what's coming."

Querion

"Exactly. We can't follow blind all the time!"

Shammroy gentle but firm,

"I told you before… my path is full of hurdles and danger. Anything could happen — at any moment. I keep things from you not because I don't trust you… but because I want you both to grow through the unknown. It will make you more stronger, focus, confident in your spiritual energy ."

Ferin and Querion exchanged a surprised glance.

Querion & Ferin in unison, awkwardly,

"Ohhh…"

Shammroy smiled faintly and looked ahead, raised a hand.

Shammroy,

"Stop here.I will go alone."

He stepped off the path and moved into edge of the hill while querion and ferin are holding back as their sees shammroy is waiting for his brother.

The Brother Beneath the Shadows

The forest thickened as Shammroy moves into the brush alone. Shafts of sunlight pierced through the dark canopy, painting the ground in shifting gold. A faint breeze whispers through the dark trees . Amid the silence, a voice echoed —called out ahead — familiar, almost echoing through his soul.

Voice calm, distant,

"You came."

From a branch, a masked figure sat calm and waiting . Below him , shammroy sit at the end of hill . Their conversation was low, words carried only by the wind.

Back on the trail, Querion tilted his head, see's both of them sitting like that his eyes locked on his brother and asks ferin,

"Why does his brother wear a mask?"

Ferin flatly

"How do I know?"

Querion chuckled softly.

A few moments later, Shammroy roses, dusting off his cloak.

Shammroy to his brother,

" Ok then , I leave!"

By seeing shammroy coming back ferin asks,

" Done with you're meeting."

Shammroy nodded with a faint smirk and says casually,

"Alright then… let's go."

As they turned, the masked brother's figure faded — dissolving into thin air like a mist under sunlight.

The Dragon of the Academy

Back at the academy, the trio entered a large open central courtyard. In its center stood a massive reinforced cage — trembling slightly, as if something alive and furious waited inside.

The professor hurried toward Shammroy, nervous but determined.

Professor,

"Since you're his brother… I need your help, I hope you can do that. Please, help me calm this dragon."

Shammroy stunned,

"Calm what? I don't even know how to control a dragon!"

Professor pleading,

"Please! You must try!"

Querion smirked and took a step back.

Querion grinning ,

"Yeah ,captain , you can handle it . We'll cheering you from a distance. You got this."

Ferin half-laughing,

"Yeah, captain — good luck!"

Shammroy irritated,

"Hey— Wait!"

Before he could protest further, the professor unlatched the cage. The metallic creak echoed through the courtyard like a warning.

Professor guiding,

" Don't let your adrenaline got you!"

Shammroy with a awkward smile,

" What are you taking? It seems it is furious!"

Professor nervously,

"Don't worry… just stay calm. It won't—"

But before he could finish, a deafening ROAR exploded from inside. The entire academy trembled as the dragon roars, its wings snapping the air like thunder. Students and professors rushed out — the dean included — all frozen in disbelief.

Shammroy's eyes widened. He could feel the heat from its breath, the pressure of its presence — a creature of sheer cosmic might.

The dragon's eyes locked on him. Its roar ceased, it's eyes seems to be on joy as the shammroy was it's owner. Slowly… it lowered its massive head.

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

Professor whispering,

"It's… bowing…"

Shammroy's body froze. His heartbeat thundered in his chest. Professor signs him to go forward.

He stepped forward cautiously, extending a trembling hand. The dragon exhaled, a calm rumble vibrating the ground, and lowered its head further as Shammroy's palm rested gently on its scales. Shammroy pats it with the fear and cautious.

Every soul in the courtyard stood speechless.

Querion in disbelief,

"No way…"

Ferin softly,

"He actually… tamed it."

The dean, watching from the stairs, spoke under his breath, his voice laced with awe and fear.

Dean,

"In the entire history of this realms… these dragons have never bowed to anyone. Yet this one… but it kneels down as he was it's true master!? Who is this kid?"

The wind carried the question away, leaving only the sight of Shammroy — hand on the dragon's head, the sunlight burning behind him — like a being the heavens themselves had chosen.
