Chapter 14 - Chapter 11 P1

"If you really can't accept it, I actually have a small favor I'd like your help with, Keqing," John said helplessly, seeing that she still refused to take the Dragon's Roar in the Box.

"What favor?" Keqing asked.

John repeated the information about the weapons shop Nightlan had promised him and asked, "Keqing, do you have anyone who specializes in managing shops? They'd only need to handle operations. I'll manage the weapon supply myself."

"A reliable operations-type person?" Keqing lowered her head, thinking for a moment. She actually had a few candidates in mind.

"Salary isn't an issue. I'll need them to work closely with you, and they'll need to handle the shop's affairs attentively," John added.

He wouldn't be like other bosses who skimped on employee wages. After all, he was running a near-zero-cost business. He liked money, but he also understood the importance of sharing.

You can't expect a horse to run without giving it grass, after all.

"I do have a few candidates. Personally, I think the one most suitable for you already has a job…"

John's interest piqued. If even someone as meticulous as Keqing considered this person ideal, their abilities must be exceptional. He decided immediately: "It doesn't matter if they have a job. If they can swing a hoe properly and open any corner, I'll pay extra."

Keqing's lips twitched. Indeed, when it comes to poaching talent, there's nothing money can't solve. If a problem arises, it's only because the money isn't enough.

Facing John, self-taught and eager to pay handsomely for talent, Keqing thought for a moment and said, "I'll introduce her to you in a few days."

"No rush. The shop isn't finalized yet anyway. Keqing, you've helped me so much—this sword, you must take it. My conscience wouldn't allow me otherwise. You don't want me to lose sleep over it, do you?"

Hearing John say that, Keqing had no choice but to accept the weapon—a perfect fit for her.

Honestly, Keqing liked the sword herself. Its compatibility and craftsmanship hit her sweet spot, and she had been lacking a proper weapon.

Some might wonder—someone as wealthy as Keqing, wouldn't she already have a special-effect weapon?

Indeed, she could acquire such weapons if she spent some money. But the key was compatibility. Not every weapon suits its user.
