CHAPTER 291 CAPTURING AOKIJI
Miss Bakkin looked utterly defeated.
They'd already been losing, but she never expected Brett, that bastard, would resort to such dirty tricks.
"Bastard, you lied to me! Pops isn't here at all!" Weevil turned around angrily, having rushed back excitedly to greet his father. He saw nothing—his beloved father hadn't come at all!
Then Weevil saw his mother being held in Brett's hand.
"Mama!!" Though a fool, even Weevil could understand the current situation. His most beloved mother had been taken hostage.
"Let go of Mama right now!" Weevil roared furiously.
"Tell your son to drop his weapon and turn around," Brett said, his right hand gripping the old woman tightening slightly, making her skull creak audibly.
"Weevil!!" Miss Bakkin screamed in pain. "Good boy, drop your weapon quickly, turn around and don't move!"
"But Mama..." Weevil still looked hesitant.
Though he'd always been an obedient child who listened to his mother, and his brain wasn't particularly sharp, even he realized now that turning around would likely lead to something very bad happening.
"Idiot, are you refusing to listen to your mother now?!" Pain made the old woman's voice extremely shrill. She pulled out her trump card. "If that's the case, then I won't want you as my stupid son anymore!"
"No, Mama, no! I'll do it!" Panicked, Weevil quickly threw his weapon onto the deck, then turned around and stood completely still.
Brett chuckled softly. Wasn't that simple?
Well, though using brute force in a direct assault wouldn't have been difficult either.
Brett stepped forward two paces, his fist wrapped in dual-colored lightning and Haki, then struck Weevil's back of the head.
Just like how Kaido-sensei had clubbed down Kozuki Oden with one strike, or knocked out the Straw Hat with one blow—having given up resistance, Weevil didn't even manage a groan before collapsing to the ground with a thud, unable to rise again.
After dealing with Weevil, Brett casually knocked Miss Bakkin unconscious and tossed her beside Weevil.
How to handle these two—that should be left for the victim, Zephyr-sensei, to decide.
The two most troublesome ones had been dealt with, so next came—
Brett turned around.
On the deck, besides the two Warlords, there were also several Navy vice admirals.
Disbelief covered these men's faces completely.
They couldn't comprehend what had happened in this short minute at all.
Though they despised Wang Zhi and the Weevil mother-son duo's character, the Navy still acknowledged their strength.
Even among the Warlords, these two's strength was second only to Hawk Eyes, wasn't it? But to be taken down so easily—
They didn't even have time to say much before brilliant electrical light flashed toward them.
Dealing with these Navy vice admirals was even simpler.
Brett took them all down with three punches and two kicks—averaging one punch per person. Not a single one could mount even a semblance of resistance against him.
"About a minute and a half, I'd say."
After sweeping clean everyone still standing on the deck, Brett estimated his time.
That should count as pretty fast, right?
BOOM.
Just then, the deck exploded with a crater, and a figure shot into the sky. It was Zephyr.
A layer of frost covered his body, and white mist puffed out when he exhaled.
"Really cold!" Zephyr muttered quietly, then looked down.
The sight before his eyes made Zephyr's pupils widen involuntarily.
"Brett?"
That single word "Brett" contained far too much meaning.
Is my understanding of this world wrong, or is something wrong with you, kid?
He knew Weevil's strength all too well, not to mention Wang Zhi was also an old adversary. How had they both ended up on the ground in such a short time?
"Ara ara, it's almost like a joke."
Yes, almost like a joke.
Zephyr and his most appreciated student shared the same sentiment in that moment.
He landed on the deck, watching Aokiji jump out from the crater.
Aokiji scratched his head, his face full of helplessness. "How can someone be this strong?"
Those were Wang Zhi and Weevil—two Warlords the government had placed high hopes in, not just any random cats and dogs you could find anywhere on the seas.
"So then, Admiral Aokiji," Brett smiled. "What do you say?"
Aokiji sighed. "Of course I want to say, how about we just surrender? There's absolutely no chance of winning if we keep fighting."
"But—" His eyes remained as calm as before. "Zephyr-sensei taught us that when fighting enemies, you must fight to the very end!"
"Ice Ball!"
He pushed with both hands, and a somewhat ethereal large ice sphere shot toward Brett.
The ice ball even passed through the deck, but didn't shatter it—instead freezing it into ice.
Brett charged forward unconcernedly, directly smashing through the ice ball.
Though a layer of frost attached to his body as a result.
Of course, the frost had no effect whatsoever, melting away completely the next instant.
What's with this guy? He simply can't be frozen!
Aokiji felt helpless. Did the Azure Dragon fruit also have resistance to freezing?
Brett's fist had already swung over.
Admiral Aokiji hastily swung his saber to block.
The ice blade shattered immediately, though fortunately Aokiji had already pulled back and retreated.
However, Brett wasn't fighting alone right now.
"Kuzan!"
Calling out his student's name loudly, Zephyr's right fist came crashing down.
There was nowhere left to dodge.
"Ara ara, this really is—"
Aokiji's eyes focused as he also threw a punch toward Zephyr.
His fist was wrapped not only in Haki but also covered with a thick layer of frost. Just touching Zephyr would freeze him solid.
That's what Aokiji thought.
Then, the instant the teacher and student's fists collided, Aokiji's expression changed drastically.
"This is—"
The freezing ability didn't activate as intended. Zephyr's right hand opened, grasping his wrist.
Admiral Aokiji's body had already gone limp, collapsing. Held by his wrist, Zephyr lifted him up like a large doll.
"Seastone—"
Aokiji's weak tone was filled entirely with helplessness.
How embarrassing. Just a second ago he'd been spouting brave words about fighting to the end, and the next instant he'd been taken down.
"You lost, Kuzan." Zephyr's face bore a trace of a smile. "Today I've taught you another lesson—never let your guard down against your opponent."
Aokiji sighed.
