Chapter 73 - Mix Race: Arrival of Demons: Part 1:

Author's Note: I am not an editor or a professional writer. I will write this and edit it to the best of my ability. I also do not own Uma Musume, which is owned by Cygames. Watch the animes and read the mangas, for they are pretty good. Finally, please enjoy.

Fan Girl Sarah POV

Today was the last time we were together. That was what I thought this morning. Now reading the stadium and our families this is not over just yet. Just when we want to walk away it pulls us back in. The first race was a world record breaker which surpassed the time of every recorded relay race. Next, the marathon that I checked online everyone is calling, 'the rebirth'.

That race showed us what a true relay should be and how you properly run it. I can see everyone making it meta already. Even online my sources from other teams are studying this race with absolute seriousness. People are even saying online if you can't win a real marathon are you even a stayer? Next was the first obstacle race, the race that shows how tough a team really is.

I really thought the showy Bloody Broncos would be crushed in this race, but instead, the opposite happened. She turned that race into her performance. She made those violent bitches look silly. It was so amazing somehow, my husband, my kids, and I have a crush on Agent Viridian. Which will somehow be accepted by society, because they also have the same problem.

Now though the final race began and it is a mixed race. It mixed flat and obstacle rules, with the first half an obstacle race and the second a flat race. These mixed races were introduced this year, and they have been crazy entertaining. You can never guess who was gonna win or what happens next. It was also on dirt so it's gonna be a tough race throughout.

I looked at the players racing for BB or Bloody Broncos for short. It was Agent Ebony as the lead off as she was the only one outside the cage. The rest were Captain Primrose, Agent Ash, and Agent Azure. We don't know the order to make the race more unpredictable and exciting. Soon all the racers were in the gates and the race was about to begin.

The timer rang and then boom the race began. They all tried to stop Ebony, but she was so fast that she was already way in the lead. I realized as Ebony ran she was a frontrunner. She must have used focus and an early lead into dodging danger to immediately get out. She's also swerving around obstacles so she doesn't know parkour.

Now everyone is chasing after her hoping not to do a repeat of the first relay race today. They were also hoping to stop her before she got into the flat area cause now their weapons will be useless. They begin running behind her as they use their experience to catch up. One even got near enough to hit her. Guess this was great while it lasted, but then that girl got hit by a guitar that appeared out of nowhere.

Then I remembered there are no rules about storing items in the track before the race begins. During race preparation, I saw many staff from BB go into the track, leave some stuff, and hide things there. The guitar broke into pieces and knocked out the one who hit it. Still, Ebony was being chased and soon balls were falling out of her hands. It began tripping runners behind her.

She was soon running away as her opponents tripped over one another. Still, this was an expected performance from an average athlete, while her other teammates were something amazing. What made her special other than just being the team's musician? Why did they put her on the track if she was just a musician when they could keep her on the bench? Was she just a seat filler, was she nothing special?

That's when she got to the flat half of the course. Then boom, my jaw dropped as she went faster and faster. Leaving opponents in the dust. Her form has a rhythm and form designed to resist air resistance and use gravity to make her faster. She even used her form to resist the slowdown of dirt to go faster.

She was a master of dirt running as she glided through dirt like a boat through water. I soon realized the moment she got to flat dirt this round was over. That's when everyone else got out of the obstacle section, and saw Ebony was already halfway done with the flat area. They all ran as fast as they could, and I soon realized I'm in one of the best leagues of all time. They ran as fast as they could as if catching up was the only thing that mattered.

Still, we watched Ebony cross the finish line and we saw that she broke the lead-off dirt record for all relay types. We also soon realized she entered the obstacle area as the other teams tried to interrupt the baton pass to make sure they were eliminated. Ebony must be exhausted and vulnerable. That's when someone came close, but soon that person got kneed in the face immediately. Coming in to save Ebony was, Captain Primrose.

She came in like a superhero to save the day. The captain soon grabbed the baton and began getting into a scuffle with the other players. She yelled," Ebony get out of the field, you're exhausted, Ash and I have got this mess." Ebony nodded rushing out of the field as the captain was taking them all on solo. I've never seen someone that cool in my life.

Black Diamond POV

I got to the field knowing I'm the target for everyone. Which is going to be a hassle. Still, Coach Yuto told me his crew had already put the preparations on the field earlier. He even showed me where the items were. I also received metal and rubber balls as backup weapons.

Still, I was left to do my thing once I escaped the obstacle section of the race. I was the opposite of Gray on this I was bad at the obstacle section. Cause I'm not cool with hitting others unless it's self-defense, defense of a loved one, or I really hated that person. I worked with Coach Tsukasa on how to avoid the early gathering to just front-run the whole thing. He even taught me skills that were actually in the game of Uma Musume, but in reality, they're just techniques in races.

These techniques varied from physical to psychological, and like the game fit certain strategies and scenarios. Like a recovery skill that only lasts a few minutes and restores little energy is not gonna fly at long distances while it will in sprints. We all got onto the field as everyone was glaring at me. I saw Vic, Gray, and ImP enter the cage as no one noticed me dropping off some things in the waiting area. This area was going to be the finish line later and Gray told me to drop these weird boxes.

I don't know why, but soon enough it was time to go into the gates. I soon began my preparation and soon the gates opened. I immediately used focus, early lead, and dodging danger immediately. I then used straight way acceleration and adept to get ahead before activating moxie. Unlike my teammates I don't know much about martial arts and parkour to help me so I had to go through the obstacles and not over them.

I also felt the other opponents coming closer thanks to that, and they are hunting me. Thank goodness I live life so I'm athletic and have been in enough brawls to know it's her or me. I soon found a guitar hidden in the obstacles and smashed the fuckers face with it. She was out cold as it was an electric guitar not a wooden acoustic guitar. Still, I felt them get closer as I ran faster so I decided to let go of the unnecessary weight on me.

I dropped all the balls in my pockets behind me. I heard crashing sounds, but kept going forward so I could get out of this area. Still, I made it through, I really hate obstacle races, I don't like obstacle courses or even hurdles. The only way I would enjoy this is if someone I hate is in the race as well and I get to whoop their ass. Now as soon as I stepped on the flat course I knew what I had to do.

I began to run, no obstacles, no one trying to hit me. Still, this body is weird, in my past life I never ran on dirt it's just naturally built for it. It can still run turf, but it's like in-game Dirt: A, Turf: B. Now it was time to run, I activated old muscle memory and began running for home. I was running so fast I left the rest of them in the dust.

That's when I got near the end of my turn to pass the baton, but I saw a bunch of runners waiting for me. I crossed the finish line and that's when it clicked. This area is considered the obstacle area, meaning that as long as I haven't given Vic the baton, they can attack me. I was exhausted too with me releasing all my weapons earlier. They came at me to try to eliminate us from the race.

Goddesses damn them as they tried to jump me. That's when Vic came in and kneed the one closest to me in the face. She then spun and kicked every other person coming. She opened her palm and I gave her the baton. She then told me loud enough for me to hear," Ebony get out of the field, you're exhausted, Ash and I have got this mess." Damn, Vic I almost fell in love with you."

I soon stood up and rushed out of the field. I was still on dirt, so I could escape easily. I heard the crowd cheer and something amazing must have happened. I couldn't see it cause I was too busy escaping the chaos. When I got out I looked and saw Vic already running the track, and the rest of the runners getting to the finish line. The once still standing took their batons and chased after Vic.

Damn bro I know you got this. I got back to our section. I got there and was given a seat, a towel, and a drink. I decided not to leave yet as the race wasn't over. Everyone was also back as we watched the race. That's when everyone screams in excitement, cause Vic is just that awesome.
