Around this point in time. The entire misty edifice churned audibly than the man seated at the seat of honor.
Klein suddenly became restless. All this time, what he perceived to be an innocent service in tandem with the commissions would actually brought danger to Selina.
And it was all strange. If he's Marik, then identifying him would've been breezy. He had seen his portrait thanks to Old Neil's divination and a Seer's memorization is exceptional.
"Unless... that's not his true identity nor the image has been fiddled with by an anti-divination." Klein said slowly.
On one hand, he's the son of an alcoholic philanthropist, in the other, he's a member of the Rose School of Though who's influence is more or less miniscule compared to the reigning organizations of the North Continent.
"Aurora Order, Theosophy, Demoness Sect, and Moses Ascetic Order are all prominent in the North Continent whilst the Rose School of Thought has its major players in the South Continent.
"Ideally, Marvik when I saw him with Rozanne have obvious Southernian origin features, so he should not have been as a Loenesian nor Intisian."
While rubbing his forehead, Klein remarked, "Marik is a false identity. Meant to blend into the people of Loen Kingdom..."
Realizing this, he quickly produced another parchment, written with words; "Marvik's whereabouts."
He grabbed this tightly with his left hand and used Cogitation to enter a dream.
In a world of dark and mist. Klein saw light and was casted into a harbor. Undulating waves collided with the anchors of the vessels. Many dock workers moved for the day.
He quickly realized that this was the Tingen harbor.
However, Marvik or Marik was nowhere in sight. Then out of nowhere, the scene blurred into a fast motion as Klein instantly arrived at a three story, building.
Marvik, in his dark, frazzled hair and greedy pinkish black eyes, had his silhouette made out from the curtains, as the sunsets in the horizon.
The building was near the harbor!
Upon achieving what Klein wanted. He didn't wasted any time dwelling in the dream and plummeted "back" to his room.
In this point in time. His agitation compels him to barge into the guest room, where Selina sleeps. To inform her as quickly as possible.
However, just as he reached for the handle. He suddenly reevaluated his intent.
Selina is sleeping, but Mrs. White is Goddess who transcends sleep!
Klein forfeited his ungentlemanly idea as he picked up the seed from the pocket of his coat and lighted it with his spirituality after laying in the bed.
"The White Maiden from a distant time...
...
In a world of tall green rolling in the endless expanse of the dreamworld.
Selina, quietly severed her connection with Catherine, after her response to Kothe, Yesir and Greg's prayers in a sequencing order. She stood helplessly in the meadow.
"No difference between my work back home..." she sighed self-deprecatingly.
"Should I get my own assistant at some point? They don't have to report to me everyday!"
During this time of her visit. Selina realized that she had been using the dreamworld as the equivalent of boss's room for her believers. Processing the reports from them and brainstorming for future developments.
"Right, there's also new things happening." Massaging her temples as she stood. She slowly exhaled.
"Heh, thank the Evernight. Leonard chose to join us... If not, I'm concerned how Klein would react.
"Phew..." Selina sighed and relieved her mind by taking in the scenery.
Mountainous valleys stretched far into the little forest in the distance. River banks split the the sliding hills accentuated with flowers and grasses.
After a short while. As Selina was about to wake herself up. An overlapping voices stopped her momentarily.
"Klein?" she felt a vibration and specks of light from a segment of vines. "Why?
"Aren't we just one room apart? Oh, he must assumed I'm asleep." then she realized. "Uh well, technically I am...! but."
Failing to argue with herself. Selina drew a slow breath, "Sigh... I wonder what agitated Klein this late?"
...
In his sleep. Klein witnessed the shattering of the dark, like the scenery of a glass globe upon impact.
Then, yet again, he found himself in a beautiful dreamworld. But unlike the previous visit he had where it's only a meadow.
Klein saw distant valleys and deep, dense forest that hid a river's end. He was stumped.
It changed... as he said this. He silently recalled the space above the gray fog, and what he can do within it.
Reborn daughter of a mysterious dreamworld. Yet this world is Her divine kingdom. Wait, was I wrong?
Klein made a quiet reevaluation of his hypothesis. Mrs. White is not the giant queen but Her child? But why does She have the Mrs?
Confusing, too confusing!
Unbeknownst to him. His hands betrayed his composure as they went and rubbed his forehead.
Mrs. White seemed to have noticed this and made the world echoed a chuckle. "Is there something bothering you?"
Klein snapped form his thoughts and quickly exclaimed, "What? Oh..."
He deliberated his words first before reporting, "Mrs. White. Selina is being targeted again by the Rose School of Thought."
Without delay, he continued.
"Currently, our department, the surface of it, acts as a commissioning company. Our captain allowed another service to run alongside it in consideration for the department's funds.
"This became a pharmacy while a commissioning company in the name." Klein straightened himself. "But just recently, I was surprised that one of her clients was actually a member of the Rose School of Thought.
"Marik."
Deep into the light and the swirling thorned vines. Selina's mind whirred the name, Marik? Who? I have never met a man named Mar... ik... vik...
...Marvik!?
Klein resumed sternly, "I have already discussed this with Selina before. The accomplice of Huddsman. But it did not occurred to me that he'll boldly enter our building, even done multiple visits in the form of being a client."
"Is a man named Marvik who you're referring to?" the world instantly guessed.
Klein was instantly satisfied that he nodded quickly, "Yes. It's Marvik. Our receptionist who's with Selina the most has noted that he's a regular."
Mrs. White did not made the world spoke. Instead, She listened intently.
"I wish for Selina to know this and be warned of this man. I have divined his identity and whereabouts, soon I will investigate this personally and allow for police intervention." said Klein.
The White Maiden silently gaze at Klein. Seemingly trying to discern if he's telling the truth.
Meanwhile, beneath this, Selina felt a strangle in her heart that no matter where she goes, the breath of the past still lingers.
The Halzter Van Company was already put into custody along with its operations. She had thought that was the end, and that Huddman's accomplice Marik left along with them.
What does Marik want from her? Are they still trying to retrieve her?
Thankfully, unlike being in Milo. Here in Tingen, she have allies to rely on. Klein, Dunn, Leonard and the rest of the Nighthawks. Even anticipating Greg Ford to be present once he established a pharmacy in the city.
Thinking this, she found relief.
"What do you think Marik desires from Selina?"
She refrained from cornering Klein, as she's already aware of The Fool.
Klein easily recalled what he had divined in the space above the gray fog. "Thanks to Mr. Fool. I have managed to divine this individual upon meeting him at the reception hall.
"Not only was he connected to the eight vampires that had chased Selina. He was also present during that event."
During the chase? Selina was baffled. If it weren't for the divine light that obscured her face, Klein would've seen her reaction.
But at the same time, that seemed contradictory from reality. Her face was a mess of swirling thorned roots that she doubt Klein can discern.
Seeing that there was no response. Klein added, "I got to know his thoughts about Selina being pursued by his higher power peers. It was simple, she was a price everyone at the time desired.
"I fear that he's scheming something to collect Selina."
For awhile. Mrs. White lend a quiet ear to Klein. And when it passed did the world heeded. "Selina will be made aware of this."
For an inexplicable reason. Hearing that made Klein's emotions settled from wrestling and he secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
Without further ado, he said, not intending to waste Mrs. White's time.
"Thank you, that's all."
...
Scent of coffee wafted the morning's air in the Moretti residence.
After a breakfast of sausage, beef strips, milk and some pastries. Selina returned to the guest room from the washroom. She briefly dried her damped hair and wiped her skin with the towel.
Today, she wore her usual long-sleeved, draped with a dark vest and same-colored trouser. She picked a practical brown windbreaker to fight off the cold air of the underground basement. As it's her turn to guard Chanis Gate.
Swiftly tying her hair into a braided-bun. Several minutes has passed before she walked out of the guest room and stride for the stairs.
She had only just taken a few steps when she saw Klein, in his formal attire and cane in hand, waiting by the front door.
"Ready to head out?" he smiled.
Selina controlled her steps and responded as quickly as she can after reaching the floor. "Mhm."
Klein twisted the handle open and waited for her to take the first exit.
Along the way, he had his gaze fixed forward, but thoughts dwelling over the matter with Marik.
Not only does he have to report about Elizabeth's wraith harassment, but to also discuss about Ademinsaul's status.
Later that night, he couldn't sit idly. With many variables happening, it led to his attempt of divining this newly promoted, soon-to-be fledged Monster.
The plan was to let Dunn and the Holy Church deal with this issue. But considering what lies in Selina's destiny. Any road may lead them unknowingly committing with the destiny.
Klein became reactive before and it almost resulted in Selina's death if not for Mrs. White's intervention.
However, there's doubt that a seed will always save them.
Ademinsaul was blathering about a dream. Blood, corpses, even himself in the mix. It was everywhere...
Old Neil likely perceived it as the product of his unstable mind. However, in the divination, it was a reoccurrence...
Unstable mind... at that moment. When he and Selina took a turn, he suddenly glanced at her and asked.
"Selina... How's your digestion of the Apothecary potion?"
Selina's undigested potion may even contribute in the process of her horrible destiny!
Selina's luscious lips curled a smile. "Actually, I finally became a true Apothecary."
To her, this meant she fully digested the potion.
Klein blurted out, "Really? When?"
"Just yesterday!" Selina eagerly said. "I didn't know helping in Ademinsaul's chance of becoming a full 'Monster', would actually aid in my digestion."
Ademinsaul's recovery? Y-Yeah, technically she also aided in the potion or medicine making... Klein secretly reasoned.
Then when he was about to commend her. He was struck. Selina had prepared a feast for him and all he'll do was congratulate her?
Feeling ashamed. Klein cleared his throat and replied, "Are you free tomorrow?"
Upon telling that, he instantly averted away from her gaze.
"Free... tomorrow?" Selina echoed with a slight delay. "You mean you're taking me out?"
Without looking, Klein simply said, "Yeah..."
Then he flinched, "Ah, along with Benson and Melissa of course."
Selina was about to say something when she suddenly started chuckling. Hiding her lips beneath a curled finger.
"Alright, sounds great!"
Hearing this. Klein tipped his top hat, moved it closer to his eyes. He couldn't help but grin as he said, "Don't worry it will be my treat."
But shortly after saying that. He didn't realized that Selina, the one who knows him very well even among his siblings. Would assault him endlessly on their way with words of criticism and playful jokes.
...
Time advanced agreeably that in the blink of an eye. It's already noon.
Preparing to depart for their combat instructor, Gawain's house after a day at the shooting club. Klein first checked on Selina by the reception hall with Rozanne. Marvik hadn't appeared for hours and even then, Rozanne reported of no sightings of him.
This made Klein feel anxious and deprived. He wearily slumped over a sofa in the empty entertainment room to let reign his thoughts before proceeding to head to Gawain's house.
Today's Sunday, and since it's Selina's turn to guard Chanis Gate. He had to arrive there and train alone.
"Glad to see you're here." Leonard's voice echoed from a corner with a half-condescending, half-carefree tone.
"I was wondering when I'll get a chance to talk to either of you."
Klein adjusted his hand so that it doesn't occupy a side of the couch. He looked upward and sighed.
Leonard's eyes shimmered and was taken aback. "Why look so disparaged?"
"Just tell me what you want." Klein had a lot going on his mind that his mood was only being lifted by the presence of someone.
He doesn't want to deal with the inclination of this poet's ambivalent nature.
"Alright alright." Leonard nodded to himself slightly before taking a chair and placing both of his feet casually above a dresser.
"I obtained one." he said.
"Obtained what?" Klein didn't bothered turning a head.
"A seed." Leonard closed his eyes while smiling toward a wall.
"Huh... good for you I guess." Klein simply gave a demanded response. Internally, he added, You almost caused Selina to get punished for that!
"So..." as Leonard said this. His took his coin case from his pocket and began toying with it.
Flinging up and waiting for it to fall down as he said, "You said this allows for communication. The dreamworld, and it enables you to meet Mrs. White."
Then, he suddenly clasped the only hand that caught the coin case. After that he said solemnly, "How can you pray to Her without constructing an altar?"
