As the largest state in the southern United States, Texas enjoys a temperate climate. Its warm winters and hot summers, coupled with the constant issue of immigration, have cultivated a tough Texan spirit. Along with Florida, which is known for its eccentric residents, Texas is considered one of America's two most unique states.
But these things didn't really concern Kino.
When the young man emerged from the alley, his white shirt had transformed into a black short-sleeved top, and his sweatpants were now floral shorts. Sporting sunglasses, he fully embraced the Texan vibe.
"Hmm, let me think…"
Kino stood beneath a street lamp, pondering the plot of the Transformers story.
In short, the aliens (the Decepticons) came to Earth to find the missing Allspark and their leader, Megatron. They also planned to conquer Earth by force. Afterward, Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, and his peace-loving followers arrived on Earth to help humanity fight the Decepticons.
"So, judging by the current peaceful state of the Earth, the Decepticons haven't yet launched their plan."
"Also, I remember the male lead in this world has coordinates passed down from his ancestors, and he's a key figure."
Having roughly sorted out his plan, Kino turned and went to an internet cafe to log into eBay.
The so-called eBay website is the same as a shopping software, and it also includes a used goods sales business.
Many old Americans will put things they don't need or that are outdated on the internet for sale.
Kino searched for the keyword "glasses" on the computer, and soon, a long string of product introductions popped up on the network.
Then he sorted the prices from low to high.
Kino quickly found what he wanted.
A pair of broken glasses priced at five dollars, uploaded by a user named Sam.
The desktop system showed the seller was also in Texas, which was quite convenient.
The seller, Sam, described the item as follows: "These glasses are a commemorative item left by my great ancestor during his visit to the North Pole."
Hmm, it looks like the seller is exaggerating the truth.
However, Kino knew this thing was real. Even the Decepticons and Autobots were practically drooling over these glasses.
"Alright."
Kino clicked his mouse and typed a line of text: "Plan initiated."
Late-night, in the small villa courtyard.
Inside a second-floor room plastered with various photos and posters of sexy American models.
A white youth with a crew cut was engrossed in his craft, watching a video on his computer.
As the frequency increased and then exploded, everything became dull.
"Ah~"
Sam tossed aside the crumpled paper, his eyes vacant as he slumped onto the small bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
His name was Sam. He was a high school senior, and his dream was to own his own car and score a home run.
"Ding dong~"
A notification popped up on the computer, and the boy, roused, struggled to his feet.
His gaze swept over the computer desktop, and Sam's eyes widened with excitement.
Someone had asked about the glasses he was selling on eBay.
jn6666: "Do you support offline transactions?"
Without thinking, Sam quickly typed on his keyboard: "Of course, we can trade at Falent Auto Dealership!"
His father was taking him to buy a car tomorrow, and Sam planned to sell the glasses there.
He could earn some pocket money, which made Sam think he could have a good dream tonight.
The next morning.
Looking as if he'd been splashed with ink, Sam stood at the used car dealership.
"I thought you were going to buy me a whole car, not a used one!"
Sam angrily pulled out his phone to contact the previous seller and change the location of the transaction.
Honestly, driving a used car to a high school event sounded incredibly lame.
Sam's dad, a man with a beer belly, patted Sam on the shoulder. "When I was your age, as long as it had four wheels and an engine, I was happy."
"Hey, are you two here to look at cars?"
As they were talking, the used car dealership owner walked out of the building.
This chubby black man flashed a big, white smile. "Bobby Bolivia, pleased to meet you."
Sam's father patted the boy on the shoulder and said, "Well, my son is going to buy his first car. What do you have that's suitable for him?"
As soon as he heard the word "business," the black man perked up immediately.
"Of course, I have plenty of cars here for your son to consider."
The owner, brimming with enthusiasm, led the two of them to a parking garage filled with dilapidated used cars.
At a glance, Sam even suspected he'd arrived on a battlefield. The paint was chipped, the headlights broken. No wonder the cars here were cheaper than dirt.
Driving a car like that? He'd be ridiculed for the rest of his life.
He silently extinguished the thought of buying a car, but then a message popped up on his phone. It was that jn666 guy, saying he'd arrived.
Sam looked up.
His gaze swept across the appalling parking lot, and he quickly spotted a handsome young man at the entrance.
The early morning sunlight spilled over him, as if dusting the youth with gold. Sam was willing to bet this guy had no shortage of women.
Standing outside the used car market, Kino pushed down his sunglasses, sizing up Sam not far away.
Just like in the movie, Sam was a skinny, bullied, typical American nerd.
"Ahem."
Sam coughed twice, touched the glasses in his pocket, and then ran towards Kino.
"jn666?" Sam, feeling a little inferior, didn't dare to look Kino in the eye. He just took the glasses out of his pocket and handed them over. "These are the glasses."
"Not bad. Cash for goods." Kino laughed and pulled out a few American dollars from his pocket, stuffing them into Sam's shirt pocket. "Keep the change."
After taking Sam's glasses, Kino left without looking back.
Shortly after he left, a car in the used car lot seemed to drive itself, slowly heading in the direction Kino had gone.
The weather in Texas was indeed hot.
Kino fiddled with the glasses in his hand. The cracked lenses supposedly held a specific set of coordinates, marking the location of Megatron, leader of the Decepticons.
Not far away, the roar of a car engine echoed.
A deep yellow car screeched towards Kino.
Tires kicked up dust.
Then, like a skilled race car driver, the car drifted, opening the driver's side door, clearly intending to scoop Kino up.
Watching the orange car drift towards him, Kino's lips curled into a smile.
"Finally."
The youth slowly reached out a hand, and then...
Boom!
A classic sports car, weighing a full ton and transformed from Cybertronian metal, was brought to a clumsy halt as an arm gently pressed down on its hood.
The old car seemed stunned and puzzled, its engine sputtering to a stop.
Ignoring Bumblebee's current reaction, Kino tilted his head and looked inside the car. The steering wheel in the driver's seat was covered in dust, and the Autobot insignia was faintly visible, etched into the metal.
