What is time like?
Like shifting sand, like the night wind, like a river that rushes onward, never to return.
When a few drops of water landed on Kino's cheek, his azure eyes slowly opened.
He heard the hurried breaths of the soldiers, who were on high alert just a hundred meters away, outside the iron gate.
They were fully armed, holding M4 Carbines and M41 Assault Rifles, ready for action.
The commander of the base issued the order: "When the iron gate opens in ten seconds, everyone open fire simultaneously to create a suppressive barrage!"
The soldiers nodded silently; these battle-hardened, sharp soldiers all gripped their gun handles tightly.
Ten seconds passed in a flash.
As the metal gate swung open, a hail of bullets erupted from the muzzles, crisscrossing in the air to form a crimson web of fire. It resembled a giant red net against the night sky, crashing toward the figure.
"Well, I gave you a chance," Kino sighed, gazing at the oncoming bullets and the tense soldiers. His azure eyes glowed with a faint blue light.
The next instant, a maximum-output blue beam, like a swift wind, swept across the entire Dam, carrying with it a frigid current.
Where it passed, a thousand miles were frozen.
The concrete walls, the bullets, the metal gate, the soldiers...
Everything was instantly swept over by the cold current. "Crack… Crack…"
A crisp sound, like water freezing into ice, echoed. Moments before, the people had been breathing, but now their expressions froze. In an instant, everyone was encased in thick, solid ice by the blue light.
Their terrified expressions were frozen in place, lifelike.
And, even more magnificent was the river below the Dam.
The waterfall, swept by the beam, was also frozen, looking down from above, it was like a frozen river and waterfall from the Ice Age, magnificent and beautiful.
"Alright."
Kino extinguished the Freezing Ray and turned to look at the hillside on the other side of the Dam: "You can come out now."
"kukukakei~"
Optimus Prime, having transformed into a humanoid form, led the other Autobots cautiously onto the Dam.
The slippery roadside forced the Autobots to transform their weapons into swords and insert them into the roadside to move forward with difficulty.
The frozen, roaring waterfall and the entire Dam.
This scene, which seemed like something only a planet-destroying weapon could achieve, filled many Autobots with both shock and a hint of fear.
"Follow me. The Allspark is inside."
Kino bypassed the frozen soldiers and walked directly into the underground base.
The underground base was divided into two levels, with the room containing Megatron and the Allspark located on the second level.
Using the Freezing Ray to freeze the base guards who tried to stop them, Bumblebee and the others successfully followed Kino to the second level.
As soon as they arrived on the second level, Optimus Prime issued orders to the Autobots under his command.
"Bumblebee, you and Ratchet go to the storage room to retrieve the Allspark."
"Ratchet, you and Jazz carefully move those frozen humans and transport them to a safe place."
Kino wasn't surprised by Optimus Prime's actions. The guy was a true saint, always thinking of others and willing to sacrifice himself to save everyone. That kind of selfless nature was just part of his character.
Kino didn't say anything, but Optimus Prime looked at him with a serious expression (it was hard to tell on a robot, but he was definitely serious). "I don't know your name yet, sir."
"Kino Luther."
"Alright, Mr. Kino." Optimus Prime looked at Kino, his voice low. "Thank you for your help with Cybertron. You are a friend to the Autobots forever."
"We will remember your friendship and inscribe your name in the history of Cybertron!" As he spoke, Optimus Prime's metal optics even seemed to mist up. Maybe, in human terms, they were tears?
"Uh, I'm honored?" Kino looked like he'd eaten a lemon. He wasn't used to playing the good guy savior.
But then he thought, maybe the DC universe was just too dark. Had he been influenced, starting to enjoy the whole grimdark thing? "Anyway, let's finish the deal first."
Kino changed the subject, not wanting to discuss morality.
At this moment, Bumblebee also strode forward, holding an object that looked like a deep black metal magic artifact, and walked towards Optimus Prime.
"This is the essential item for the continuation of our Cybertronian life," Optimus Prime said, carefully catching the cube, then nodded to Kino. "I will begin construction for you right away."
"But before that, what name do you want to give the life you create?"
"Name?"
Kino frowned slightly. To be honest, he hadn't thought about what his Cybertronian intelligent life should be called.
Skynet? Ultron? Brainiac? Too unlucky, inauspicious.
Unable to think of anything, he decided to let the creation decide its own name.
Optimus Prime then activated the energy engine, pressing against the Allspark.
A crimson beam of light struck a piece of Cybertronian metal brought by Ratchet.
As the energy beam shifted and faded, intense heat altered the metal's internal structure.
The metal, originally the size of a brick, transformed and morphed, turning into a touchscreen smartphone.
Kino walked forward and picked up the phone. It felt cool and heavy in his hand.
Optimus Prime's voice echoed behind Kino: "The intelligence of these newly created Cybertronian lifeforms will grow over time, but I've already set up the basic programs."
"It will be absolutely loyal to you."
"And, I've also added many powerful abilities," Optimus Prime said, winking at Kino like a human.
"Thank you."
Kino put away his phone. To be honest, it was pretty convenient to have around.
"Well, the cooperation is complete, I should be going now." Kino took out the Mask from his jacket pocket.
"Wait a moment."
Just as Kino was about to put on the Mask and leave, Bumblebee called out to him.
The yellow metal giant, over ten meters tall, slowly squatted down. He clenched his right fist and tapped his left chest, looking at Kino with a serious expression: "Friend, I will miss you!"
"Although we haven't known each other for long, you are a good person, Mr. Kino."
Hmm, Bruce, far away in the DC Universe, suspiciously sneezed, expressing his doubt.
The other Autobots also squatted down to show their respect for Kino. Optimus Prime clenched his right fist and pressed it against the location of his heart's energy source, saying in a low voice: "We will miss you, friend, a friend forever, Kino Luther."
"You guys…" Kino was a bit amused, but he was indeed touched by these pure and simple Cybertronian Autobots.
It was a cooperative effort, but they were sincerely grateful to Kino. No wonder Megatron would curse humans as filthy and despicable creatures.
In a certain sense, humans were indeed more insidious and cunning compared to the Cybertronians. "I understand." Kino smiled, the young man learning their mannerism, pressing his fist to his chest and smiling, he looked around at the Autobots: "If I have time, I will come back to celebrate with you."
After saying that, under the gaze of all the Autobots, Kino put on his Mask, and a bright blue particle beam enveloped his body.
Under the shroud of Quantum Energy, Kino's figure slowly dissipated, as if he had never appeared in this world.
