Confronted with the Pluton mecha that looked like a towering Gundam, Ghidorah froze for a brief moment.
Back in Vegapunk's lab on Bika, when he had once casually exchanged ideas with the developers, he had only been indulging a whim—trying to recreate something from the anime of another world he remembered.
Never had he imagined that thing would one day be refined into a weapon specifically designed to bring him down.
Looking at it now, the irony of karma came crashing back.
A scorching wave of heat suddenly cut through his thoughts. Ghidorah snapped back to the present—seeing the attack closing in, he opened his jaws and unleashed a torrent of golden gravity beams.
His beams clashed with the flaming-red greatsword, and the instant the two collided, a blinding burst of energy exploded outward.
The shockwave hurled the colossal steel giant backward, slamming it into the ground with earth-shattering force.
BOOM!
The metal titan struck the island like a falling meteor, gouging out a crater several hundred meters across.
Though the impact shook the land, Ghidorah knew full well: blows like that were little more than scratches to the Pluton mecha.
The only one who might have felt it was the one inside piloting it—Moll.
"Bastard…!"
"…That really stung."
From within the crater, Moll's hoarse voice rumbled out of the mech.
"Stung?"
"You haven't felt anything yet."
Without hesitation, Ghidorah roared and fired another massive beam down from above.
Even a Pluton running on dwindling reserves wasn't to be underestimated—he knew too well what horrors they were capable of.
Best to kill it in a single strike.
KA-BOOM!
His golden gravity beam smashed against a shimmering forcefield, detonating in a thunderous explosion that tore through a third of the island.
The shockwave ripped trees out by the roots, hurling earth and stone skyward in a storm of destruction.
VMMM—BOOM!
Through the billowing dust came a lance of light, piercing the clouds as it shot straight at Ghidorah.
The beam was all too familiar: like the lasers fired by the Pacifista.
So—Pluton had been refitted. They must have discarded its devastating, energy-draining supercannon in favor of these cheaper laser weapons.
BANG!
The laser struck his abdomen in a flash of light, blasting him off-balance and sending him tumbling toward the sea.
"Hah… trading away the might of the supercannon for this kind of tickling attack? That's nothing but pulling your pants down to fart!"
Twisting in midair, Ghidorah skimmed along the water's surface and then shot skyward again, wheeling around for another strike.
By then, Moll had made the Pluton rise again, stooping to reclaim its fallen greatsword.
Ghidorah had no intention of allowing it. Folding his wings, he dived—both clawed feet slamming down onto the giant steel body.
CRASH!
The sheer tonnage of his frame and the force of his dive smashed the Pluton flat.
CRUNCH!
In the same instant, Ghidorah's side heads lunged, fangs sinking into the mech's shoulders, tearing through the armored plating with a burst of sparks.
CHNK!
But before he could rip the shoulders apart, a searing pain ignited in his belly.
"You—damn insect!"
Looking down, Ghidorah saw it: at some point Moll had drawn a glowing crimson short blade, stabbing it deep into his scales. Golden blood gushed forth in a torrent.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Enraged, Ghidorah didn't hesitate—his three heads spat out beams point-blank, all converging on the mech's head.
Caught at zero distance, Moll had no chance to activate the Pluton's defenses.
The golden beams tore through the machine's skull, erasing it completely in an instant.
"AAARGHHHH!"
Moll's scream echoed through the mech's amplifiers as the headless giant thrashed violently, kicking Ghidorah off and staggering to its feet.
Its massive blade swung wildly—
SLASH!
The burning-hot edge carved across Ghidorah's torso, spraying golden blood across the sky.
The pain was fierce, not fatal, but enough to drive him into a rage.
ROOOOAAARRR!!
His three throats howled as storms of silver lightning rained down, scouring half the island like a rolling barrage of bombs.
Bolts of thunder struck his body, knitting shut the gaping wound across his abdomen.
As his flesh healed, his fury only grew. His wings spread wide, summoning a storm of lightning and energy.
WHUMMM—WHUMMM—WHUMMM!
Three golden spheres of energy swelled in his three mouths, his cold golden eyes locking onto the steel giant below.
No words. No mercy.
The beams fused into one, a single colossal torrent fifty meters wide, crackling with electromagnetism.
"Ghidorah—you mad beast! If you kill me, every soul on Onigashima dies with me!!"
Through the mech's amplifiers, Moll's terrified roar shook the air.
"Bury them all with me? So what?"
Rodan was already en route to Onigashima. Even if trouble arose, Ghidorah was confident Radon could hold the line.
And with that, the storm of golden energy crashed down.
The beam swallowed the Pluton whole, erasing it from existence—and with it, the island itself.
When the light faded, all that remained was a vast, gaping crater.
A moment later, seawater poured in to fill it, forming a vast artificial inland sea.
Ghidorah looked down at the devastation, his fury finally ebbing.
"You thought to take Onigashima's people with you into death?"
"You were far too naïve."
His cold words echoed across the ruined land as he wheeled around, wings crackling with thunder, and vanished into the skies toward Onigashima.
The sky was clear, the sun bright.
Across the rolling waves, two tiny boats cut through the sea one after another.
"Oi, Nami! You sure this is really Wano?"
Leaning over the rail, staring out at the water, Luffy sounded doubtful.
"How should I know what's going on with this sea?! The log pose points straight to Wano, doesn't it?"
Nami herself was full of confusion. The waters had been calm a moment ago—but without warning, a storm had erupted, and the whole sea had turned into chaos.
With her years of sailing experience, she had never seen anything like it. This didn't feel like weather—it felt engineered.
"Wh—what is that?!"
Usopp's shrill cry rang from the crow's nest.
Everyone looked forward—and froze.
A massive figure loomed into view, its body blotting out the sun, vaster and more terrifying than any creature they had ever seen.
The gargantuan silhouette stood upon the sea as if it were solid ground, like a towering statue carved from stone.
"Shhhhhhiiiii…!!"
Luffy's eyes sparkled with stars, his face lighting up with unrestrained excitement.
Staring at the colossal form before them, he couldn't hold back his glee.
