Chapter 117 - Chapter 117: The Assault of Pluton

Garp was still unaware that his grandson had already fallen into Ghidorah's calculations.

After leaving, Rodan also departed, heading for Wano.

Ghidorah lingered on the island for a while, deep in thought, before spreading his wings and soaring off toward the New World.

Earlier, he had heard Sabo mention that some trouble had arisen ahead, and since he was already out here, he figured he might as well take a look.

As the war steadily unfolded, the New World was descending into greater chaos, and this time, Lin Fan's (OC) destination lay at the very frontlines.

A few days later, the news of Ghidorah's descent upon Logue Island spread like wildfire, boosting morale among the frontline forces while also drawing the full attention of the World Government.

"My lord, bad news! World Government ironclad warships have appeared in our waters!"

Ghidorah, who had been resting in a mountain cavern, was roused by the urgent report.

"Oh?"

Ghidorah opened his eyes in mild surprise.

"So, those fools really dare to come here?"

He rose slowly, stretched out his vast wings, and took flight toward the frontline harbor.

BOOM! BOOM!

Even before he reached the port, the deafening thunder of cannon fire shook the skies.

Along the coastline, flames erupted skyward as several colossal steel dreadnoughts encircled Logue Island.

"They've really gone all-in this time…"

"No wonder they dared to come even knowing I was here—they came prepared."

Ghidorah's eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of those warships. He beat his wings, summoning storm clouds, and unleashed a torrent of gravity beams upon the steel giants.

But in the very next instant—just as his rays were about to strike—a massive, translucent barrier erupted forth, intercepting the blast with a resounding crash.

Barrier Fruit?

That was Ghidorah's first thought.

After all, only that fruit's ability to block anything could hope to withstand his beams.

But a moment later, he dismissed the idea.

This wasn't a Devil Fruit user's handiwork at all—this was the defense system of a Pluton vessel.

"Ha ha ha… Ghidorah! Long time no see!"

A rough, booming voice rolled out from atop one of the dreadnoughts.

"Moll (OC)?"

Ghidorah's expression shifted ever so slightly.

As if to confirm his suspicion, the voice replied:

"Surprised I'm still alive, aren't you? I'm flattered you even remember me."

"So it really is you."

Ghidorah's face darkened.

And as his expression grew grim, the sea beyond the barrier began to churn violently. The surface swelled as though something massive were rising from below.

With a thunderous roar, an enormous shape burst forth from the ocean depths.

A colossal steel titan—skin of gleaming silver-gray metal, reflecting a cold, terrifying light in the sun.

"What… what is that thing?!"

"My God…"

The soldiers along the coast could only stare, dumbstruck. None of them had ever imagined they would witness such an abomination in their lifetimes.

Hundreds of meters tall, the iron giant loomed like a warrior forged of steel. Its silver-gray plating gleamed with a lifeless chill. From its back, it drew forth a sky-splitting greatsword as the coarse voice of Moll echoed again:

"Ghidorah!"

"Tell me—how does it feel to see your own creation, turned against you?"

The giant war machine strode ashore with a booming crash, each step shaking the beach. Moll's mocking laughter resounded through the island:

"To watch your masterpiece used to destroy you—doesn't it make your blood boil? Hahahaha!"

High in the sky, Ghidorah's gaze grew colder by the second.

ZRAAAM!!

Lightning and searing golden beams surged from his three jaws, magnified by his storm-born fury.

BOOM!

A massive shield unfolded from the machine's left arm, absorbing the brunt of the blast. Yet even its reinforced plating couldn't halt the momentum—it was driven backward, stumbling into the sea.

"You scavengers…" Ghidorah sneered.

"Picking over scraps of old relics and thinking you can oppose me?"

"If that were possible, there never would've been a war all those centuries ago."

With a sudden dive, Ghidorah crashed headlong into the Pluton mech, jaws snapping at its armored shoulders.

CRUNCH! CRUNCH!

Sparks exploded as his fangs pierced the advanced alloys, chewing into the titan's plating.

But before he could tear deeper, the machine's knee pistoned upward, striking Ghidorah square in the gut. Augmented by its thrusters, the blow hurled him skyward.

Thick-skinned and nigh indestructible, Ghidorah barely registered the pain. Even mortal wounds could not truly kill him—for so long as he wasn't obliterated entirely, his body would always recover.

And so, in close combat, his strategy was always the same: relentless offense.

"Everyone—evacuate the island!"

From midair, Ghidorah roared down to his troops.

Obeying at once, his soldiers began boarding ships under their commanders' orders. The higher-ranking officers of Ghidorah's forces, understanding full well the wrath of their lord, wasted no time evacuating not only the island but the surrounding waters.

Even the World Government forces began pulling back their personnel.

Thus, for the moment, Ghidorah and Moll refrained from clashing again, glaring at one another across the battlefield.

At last, when the last stragglers had withdrawn, Ghidorah's maw twisted into a devilish grin.

"Now it's just the two of us."

"Let's see just how much power your so-called Pluton still has left."

He felt no fear before the legendary weapon, for he knew the truth: the World Government did not possess Pluton's true core energy.

What they had were merely remnants—scraps of power left behind.

Even in its prime, a single Pluton would never have been enough to match him. To stand against Ghidorah would require two fully powered Pluton machines working in tandem.

And yet here was Moll, strutting before him with only one.

Did he really think Ghidorah was some kind of pushover?

Where did he get such arrogance?

Ghidorah had already decided: he would teach this fool a lesson—that no matter what, no one had the right to flaunt themselves before him. Not even Pluton.

"Arrogant beast!" Moll shouted proudly from within the cockpit.

"This isn't the Pluton of old—this is a model refined by the World Government's Science Division!"

As he spoke, the titan's greatsword ignited, glowing molten red as its systems poured energy into the blade.

"This sword was forged for one purpose—to cut you down. Let your blood be the offering to its power!"

With those crazed words, the steel titan launched itself into the sky, sword leveled straight at Ghidorah.

Watching the giant war machine rocket toward him, Ghidorah couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

"Good thing I never let them develop propulsion systems back then… otherwise this thing would be nothing short of a Gundam."
