Axel's POV,
I sat on the couch, frustration building slowly inside me until it sharpened into something harder, something I had to actively keep from showing.
I couldn't believe Fenris was actually going to let me sleep here while there was a perfectly good bed in the next room, a bed we could easily share.
But then again… what was I expecting?
Just because he had marked me, just because we had slept together, didn't mean anything had actually changed between us.
We hadn't talked about it. We hadn't defined anything. The mark might mean something on its own, but between us? There were still too many things unsaid.
The usual me wouldn't have cared about all that. I would've just walked straight into that room, climbed into that bed, and slept right next to him without asking.
But this time, I held back.
