[SAMANTHA’s Point of View]
My eyes couldn’t believe what I saw.
There, in front of me, was Purple, trying to shield me from Olivia, whose claws were aimed at my neck. The purity of the bright light the small pup emitted brought a warmth that gave me a feeling of tenderness. It felt like the warmth of the first sunlight on my face after years of winter.
Olivia’s eyes widened, blinded by the dazzling light in front of her. I couldn’t move. I just stared at Olivia as I watched the dark, purple blight on her skin slowly melt and fade in the light.
For a second, half of her body was already inside the shield of light that Purple radiated around me. I saw the curse on Olivia’s face crawl out away from the light like black vines of veins, as if Purple’s power scared it, and go down her hips to her legs, where the light couldn’t reach the curse.
