The following morning, calm light spread across the courtyard of the Urahara Shop. Shiraha sat quietly on a futon, his posture straight and composed, eyes half closed in serene thought. Resting on his chest was Yoruichi, back in her black cat form, her tail swaying lazily as she purred in the rhythm of the slow morning air.
Urahara Kisuke reclined nearby, fan in hand, his eyes tracing the drifting clouds with that unreadable smile.
"Jinta, stop fooling around and help clean up before Mr. Tessai finds out," Ururu said softly as she swept the front steps. Her voice trembled with its usual gentleness.
"Clean it yourself, Ururu. I'm not doing it," Jinta snapped, folding his arms and turning away with defiance. "Mr. Tessai isn't even here right now."
"Okay…" Ururu murmured, lowering her head and continuing her quiet cleaning.
Urahara's fan paused. "So, Shiraha," he said, turning slightly toward him, "this Purification Seal you mentioned can it really enhance your Shikai? What kind of relic is that, exactly?"
After learning of Shiraha's plan against the Bount from him the previous night, Urahara had spent hours digging through old records for any mention of the so-called Purification Seal. But even after combing through the ancient archives of the Seireitei, he had found almost nothing.
Shiraha's voice was light, calm. "The Purification Seal was an artifact obtained by the Seireitei Research Institute about a thousand years ago. After its experiment failed, it was sealed away with other dangerous prototypes."
In truth, the artifact was designed to absorb nearby Reishi and amplify the user's power, expanding the range of their attacks to devastating levels. Beyond that, it served little purpose.
"A thousand years ago?" Urahara's eyes narrowed behind his striped hat. "And how exactly do you know about something that ancient, Shiraha?"
"That's my ability, Mr. Urahara," Shiraha replied, smiling faintly. "I can't tell you more."
Yoruichi, still curled against his chest, nudged him lightly with her head.
Urahara chuckled. "So you do have your secrets. But tell me aren't you worried about Ishida's safety right now?"
Yoruichi's golden eyes opened slightly. "Brother Shiraha, you already anticipated something, didn't you?"
Shiraha's gaze shifted toward the horizon. "Couldn't hold back anymore, could she?" he murmured, smiling faintly.
Through his vast spiritual perception, he had already sensed it Ichinose Maki, the same woman who had appeared the day before, was on the move. In a quiet apartment several kilometers away, she had already rendered Ishida Uryū unconscious and taken him.
Urahara tilted his head. "You sensed that?" A flicker of surprise passed through his eyes. His own perception had detected nothing. "Your detection range is… extraordinary, Shiraha."
Shiraha simply smiled. "Mr. Urahara flatters me."
At that moment, Tessai appeared from within the shop, carrying a tray with three cups of tea. "Manager, Mr. Shiraha, Miss Yoruichi your tea," he said gravely as he placed each cup in front of them.
"Thank you, Mr. Tessai," Shiraha said, inclining his head. Urahara wasted no time in taking his cup, savoring the first sip.
"Mr. Urahara," Shiraha began, his tone now more deliberate, "have you made any progress on your countermeasures against Aizen?"
Urahara's fan stilled. "The Hōgyoku's power is far too unstable. You've seen what it can do even before full awakening. To kill Aizen while he holds that thing…" His smile faded, replaced by the serious expression he rarely showed. "It's nearly impossible."
Shiraha took a slow sip of his tea. "Then don't kill him seal him."
Urahara's eyes flickered in realization. The idea was simple, but powerful. The faint smile returned to his lips. "A seal, huh? You might just be onto something there."
Shiraha's calm voice carried faint amusement. "You'll think of the method soon enough."
Before they could speak further, Yoruichi's ears twitched. "Little Shiraha," she murmured, "someone's coming."
Urahara's smile returned, though sharper now. "Ah, yes. Their Reiatsu is rough Soul Hunters, I'd wager."
Seven shadows appeared in the courtyard in a burst of reiryoku. Their presence twisted the air around them. The group consisted of Koga Gō, Maqiao, Yuxi, Yushi, Sawatari, and the brothers Peng and Pan every remaining Bount under Kariya's command, except for Ichinose and Kariya himself.
"Hey, Koga," Maqiao sneered, resting the hilt of her Kabuto casually against her shoulder. "That's Kuchiki Shiraha, right? The one Kariya mentioned? Doesn't look like much to me. I can barely feel his Reiatsu."
Koga's eyes hardened. "Don't underestimate him. He's a captain."
Yuxi, her long green hair swaying, smirked faintly. "Koga, you're too tense. Kariya already said it himself Shiraha's still wearing his limit seal in this world. His Reiatsu shouldn't be much stronger than ours."
"Our task is simple," Koga said coldly, tightening his gloves. "Hold him here long enough. Kariya and Ichinose will handle the rest."
Urahara chuckled under his breath. "Looks like they plan to stall you, Shiraha."
Shiraha rose slowly, Yoruichi still perched gracefully on his shoulder. His pale eyes swept over the intruders, calm and unwavering.
"Delaying me?" His voice was soft but absolute. "You think you can?"
The air shifted. Even before the seal on his power was lifted, the space itself seemed to shudder faintly in response to Shiraha's presence.
Koga and the others tensed instinctively.
Urahara smiled faintly behind his fan. "Now this," he murmured, "might be interesting."
