Chapter 236 - Chapter 236 Spin

Back on the hillside, the special ops members couldn't wait to ask, "Sir, what's the situation?"

Blonsky, still wearing a grim expression, said unhappily, "Banner is in the lab on the second basement level of the factory. However, there are over a hundred gunmen inside and out, and Joker organization members are in the lab, though it's unclear exactly who."

The special ops members relaxed inwardly and smiled, "As long as we know Banner's location, that's enough. That's all our mission entails; leave the rest for the higher-ups to worry about."

There wasn't a trace of a smile on Blonsky's face. His goal was to capture Banner, not to act as an expendable scout.

"I plan to storm in!"

"What?!"

The special ops members looked incredulous.

Has the commander had too much to drink?

We only have twenty-something people, and the other side has over a hundred gunmen!

"Sir, the disparity in numbers between us and the enemy is too great. We can't take the risk."

"I know, but I know what I'm doing. I won't let you die," Blonsky said confidently, tightening his grip on his rifle.

"Although they have the numbers, their equipment is poor. Not only do they lack body armor, but their only weapon is a pistol. As long as we coordinate well, the success rate is very high."

The special ops members opened their mouths, not knowing what to say.

A twenty-something-man elite squad against over a hundred ordinary gunmen was indeed a gamble worth taking.

But the opponents weren't ordinary people; they were members of the Joker organization, each a rigorously trained fighter.

If they attacked rashly, it would definitely be a suicide mission for their side, not to mention the unknown enemies in the laboratory.

These special ops members didn't know that after the second injection, Blonsky's speed, strength, and reflexes were approaching human limits. As long as he used the terrain reasonably, he could handle these hundred-plus gunmen even single-handedly.

But even if they knew, they would absolutely never agree to such a reckless action.

You're a 'gene warrior,' a 'super soldier,' you can weave through a hail of bullets.

But we are just ordinary people; one careless move and we'll be turned into sieves.

Seeing no reaction from them, Blonsky continued, "I'll lead the charge. You just need to provide flank cover. Once we capture Banner, I guarantee all of you will be promoted one rank."

"Sir, we disagree! Your plan is too risky and inconsistent with the mission objective. I still insist on returning to base."

Hearing this, Blonsky's face grew even darker.

He swept his cold gaze over each member's face and threatened, "Don't forget the special authority General Ross gave me. I can change the operation's objective based on the situation on the ground. I believe now is the best time to capture Banner by force."

Rank has its privileges; a higher rank can crush a man.

All the special ops members lowered their heads, their expressions exceptionally grim.

Forward was a hopeless suicide mission; backward was the cruelty of a court-martial.

They really didn't know how to choose.

......

While Blonsky and the special ops members were at a stalemate, the organization members guarding the factory noticed something amiss.

"It's been five minutes, why hasn't he come back yet!"

Two guards immediately drew their pistols and walked warily toward the grassy blind spot.

Although their movements were careful, Blonsky, positioned on the high slope, spotted them.

Seeing this, instead of anger, he felt joy. Pointing at the two guards, he said, "Look, they're about to find the body. If we don't act immediately, even if we retreat successfully, Banner will be moved, and all our efforts will be wasted!"

Hearing this, the special ops members looked at each other.

If the body wasn't exposed, they could naturally retreat to the base and report the mission accomplished.

But now, once exposed, they would completely lose Banner's trail. Not only would they fail the mission, but they would also offend Blonsky.

And they didn't think the Joker organization would be stupid enough to let them find the base a second time.

"Understood, Sir. We follow your command!"

After weighing the pros and cons, the special ops members had to compromise with Blonsky.

They took automatic rifles and ballistic shields from their backpacks, forming four combat squads of six.

"Great! Just as I said earlier, I'll lead the charge, you handle defense and counterattack!"

With that, Blonsky cocked his gun and quickly aimed at the two guards.

Bang! Bang!

Accompanied by soft gunshots, two bullets flew out.

The bullets pierced the guards' heads, and both fell to the ground in response.

Blonsky gave a cruel smile, signaled the attack toward the factory, and then charged forward, taking the lead.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Continuous gunshots rang out.

Blonsky fired left and right, his marksmanship godlike.

Every bullet accurately hit a guard, almost comparable to David in the past.

One wave of assault took out a dozen guards, but there were still plenty who slipped through the net.

Soon, the guards launched a counterattack, and ear-piercing gunfire resounded through the sky.

Hundreds of guards surrounded them from different directions, the dense hail of bullets forcing Blonsky to seek cover.

At this moment, the four squads arrived with ballistic shields raised.

Rat-tat-tat!!!

Automatic rifles spewed tongues of fire, instantly killing and injuring a large number of guards.

With the special ops team sharing the pressure, Blonsky immediately leaped out from cover, using his speed advantage to start a slaughter.

......

In the laboratory, Banner was tied to the surgical chair again, a syringe connected to the suppression serum inserted into his arm.

Jason and the others were sitting around, worrying about how to solve this huge trouble.

Most suggested releasing Banner; after all, no one would be foolish enough to tie a useless explosive to their side, especially when guarding Banner required three executives plus the organization's leader—such conditions were too harsh.

But regarding how to release him, everyone had different ideas.

Some thought they should hand Banner over to the military and extort a huge fortune.

Others thought they should banish Banner completely, throwing him into the Pacific Ocean or some isolated place.

Just as the sides were arguing incessantly, the faint sound of gunfire reached David's ears.

Possessing the superpower of ultrasound, his perception far exceeded that of ordinary people, surpassing even Jason.

From the gunshots, he analyzed the situation outside and said, "Boss, something's happening outside! Gunfire!"

Jason glanced to the side and ordered, "Go check it out!"

Two guards hurriedly ran out.

Moments later, they ran back in panic and said, "Boss, a special forces unit has appeared outside. Their firepower is fierce, they can't hold them off."

The military?

Could it be General Ross's people?

Jason frowned and looked at Betty, who was squatting on the ground.

Hearing there were soldiers outside, a spark of life finally returned to Betty's empty eyes, but it quickly dimmed again.

Even S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't deal with the Joker organization; wouldn't the military's special forces just be cannon fodder?

"Boss, I'll handle it!" John stood up and said.

"Phew..." Jason sighed and waved his hand at John.

"You guys continue discussing; I'll go out for a little spin."
