Chapter 259 - Davy Jones vs. Charlotte Linlin

The gaunt, frenzied Charlotte Linlin lifted her massive, elephant-like leg and slammed it to the ground.

Crack, crack—

The solid bedrock beneath her shattered like thin ice.

"Give me… give me cream puffs!"

"…Give me cake… give me cookies…"

"Or else… you'll all die!"

Her enormous mouth, lined with razor-sharp teeth, stretched wide open.

Huge bubbles of saliva poured from between her teeth, dripping past her bright red lips and splattering loudly onto the ground.

Her ferocity was now fully unleashed.

"Charlotte Linlin, you will receive nothing from me—except death."

Davy Jones slowly raised his battered pistol and fired directly at Linlin's forehead.

Bang!

The explosive shockwave shot forward like an arrow loosed from the string, tearing through the air with an ear-piercing shriek.

But neither of the two beings present were human—they were monsters.

Linlin's pupils jerked violently up, down, left, and right—wild and unfocused.

She looked scatterbrained, deranged, like a lunatic on the verge of collapse.

Yet her decades of battle instinct still drove her to instinctively coat her left arm with Armament Haki—smooth, flawless execution.

She hurled her massive left arm upward—boom!—blocking the shockwave at point-blank range.

After a fierce vibration, she forcefully deflected the blast!

Whump!

The shockwave veered off and exploded in the nearby shrubbery, sending branches and earth spraying skyward.

Linlin's eyes now held nothing remotely human—only the madness of instinct.

Her world had become pitch-black.

She pointed one fat, lacquered finger at Davy Jones and spoke with chilling menace:

"You won't give it to me…"

"Then you have to die…"

"'Sweets'… or 'death'?"

Her Soul Pocus had no effect whatsoever on Davy Jones. He showed not a trace of fear.

He walked forward, step by step, closing in on her.

Linlin looked down at him from above and began approaching as well.

"Looks like… you've chosen 'death'!"

The meager predawn light vanished as storm clouds rolled in like a heavy curtain.

Every bonfire and torch on the island was snuffed out by a sudden violent wind.

The entire island plunged into pitch-black darkness.

With a metallic clank, Linlin removed her pirate hat and drew Napoleon Emperor Sword, its blade gleaming with icy light.

A crackling thundercloud materialized at her left side, and a roaring fireball emerged to her right.

They howled, emboldened by Linlin's overwhelming presence, flaunting their power before Davy Jones.

Davy Jones drew a black trident from within his body.

After a bizarre twisting transformation, it became a massive black blade.

Countless tentacles slithered from beneath his cloak like a nest of intertwined serpents.

Cold ocean mist spread out, swirling across the battlefield.

Flocks of black crows shrieked as they burst from the fog, filling the sky.

The two monsters approached each other, step by step, until there was no room left to retreat.

Amid mountains of corpses and oceans of blood, their Conqueror's Haki surged again, colliding like two charging beasts—

BOOM—

The impact felt almost physical, pulverizing and flipping the very earth.

Their blades hadn't even met yet—their Conqueror's Coating clashed first, and the shockwaves around them raged like tornados.

Thump, thump, thump—

Davy Jones' Conqueror's Haki carried the death-pulse of his heart.

It quaked through Linlin's gigantic body, slowly draining her strength like a leech.

Linlin roared back at him, her own Conqueror's Haki infused with her monstrous voice.

It blasted forward like a cannon pressed directly against someone's skull.

The air thickened, becoming gelatinous beneath the pressure of their Haki.

Both moved sluggishly, yet every clash of their blades came with the roar of mountains splitting apart.

Crack!

The mirror—the only passage between Totto Land and Silent Island—shattered, its remaining fragments ground into dust.

This island was now a land of the dead. No one else could intervene.

Countless corpses lying in the dirt had their souls drawn out, pale and fluid, drifting toward Charlotte Linlin.

However—

When those wandering souls gathered in the dark heavens overhead, they wavered.

Now they drifted toward Linlin—

Now toward Davy Jones—

Utterly lost.

Wailing filled the sky—

They were like tiny boats adrift in a raging ocean.

No matter which direction they chose, they would be destroyed.

But their fate was no longer their own. It lay in the storm, the rain, the current.

Even the vegetation and stones across the island distorted under the monsters' clashing powers.

They rose from the soil as twisted demons, falling into blind madness, slaughtering anything in reach.

Suddenly, Linlin pointed one lacquered finger toward the dark sky.

"Prometheus—"

The fireball shot to her fingertip with a whoosh, then swelled violently, erupting with blinding light and scorching heat.

It became a miniature sun, illuminating the island as though it were midday.

Linlin pointed her other finger skyward.

"Zeus—"

The thundercloud, once white but now pitch-black, opened a gaping maw and devoured the surrounding storm clouds, swelling in size.

Bolts of lightning fell like roots ripping into the earth, deafeningly loud.

Sun and lightning—two calamities of the world—descended together, birthing storms and shattering mountains, threatening to erase everything.

As the apocalyptic lightning crashed down, Davy Jones dissolved into a whirl of crows, scattering like black mist.

He dodged every bolt and soared upward.

Crows shrieked as they flew from every corner of the island, merging back into Davy Jones' form.

He gripped the enormous black blade in both hands, lifting it at an angle over his head.

A crackling, nerve-tingling sound filled the air.

Lightning from Zeus was no longer striking the ground—it was being sucked toward the blade as if caught in a terrifying vortex.

Bolts converged on the weapon, coating it in a terrifying dark-purple glow.

Prometheus—now the size of one-fifth of the island—swept across the land with blistering heat, turning everything to ash in his path.

With a vicious grin, he lunged at Davy Jones from behind.

Only then did Davy Jones swing his black greatsword, dragging countless lightning bolts with it, cleaving backward.

BOOM!

A dark-purple arc split heaven and earth.

Prometheus froze in shock, then was sliced cleanly in two—fire spewing into the sky.

"Prometheus… Sister…"

Linlin plunged into even deeper madness.

Prometheus was precious to her—an echo of Mother Carmel, infused with a fragment of Linlin's own soul.

He was one of her closest companions.

She could not allow Prometheus to be destroyed—

just as she could not accept how Carmel vanished that day after the meal.

No one is allowed to leave me!

Everyone must attend my tea parties!

Everyone must stay by my side—forever!

You all belong to me!

Her pupils vanished entirely, replaced by a violent pale glow.

"Aaaaaaaaah—!!"

With her scream, the bisected Prometheus slowly rejoined, reforming his body.

He restored himself just in time—

but was now filled with even more of Linlin's murderous will.

All hesitation vanished. He charged at Davy Jones with total abandon.

Whoosh—

Prometheus spat a column of fire, horrifyingly bright, like a laser cannon.

Davy Jones drew his pistol once more.

Bang!

The shockwave struck the fire column, blowing it apart into fragments of flame that fluttered like feathers toward the sea.

When they touched the ocean, they dissolved into drifting embers, swallowed by the waves.

Boom—

Davy Jones stomped midair, blasting forward.

He appeared in front of Prometheus in the blink of an eye.

He reversed his grip on the greatsword and plunged it deep into Prometheus' body.

Prometheus screamed, erupting a massive surge of fire, trying to incinerate Davy Jones at point-blank range—

But suddenly, he felt a burning sting.

He looked upward.

A deluge of rain poured from the heavens—raindrops like arrows striking his flaming surface.

Sssssss—!

White steam burst everywhere as the rain hammered Prometheus.

Caught off guard, his flames weakened sharply.

His massive body shrank rapidly—reduced to a fraction of its size in the span of a heartbeat.
