"Harry Potter- Ravenclaw"Chapter 180: Quidditch Training
The pixie burst out laughing, convulsing with sharp, high-pitched giggles, and within moments collapsed in a heap, trembling uncontrollably on the floor of its cage.
"Finite Incantatem!" Wyzett flicked his wand, ending the Tickling Charm.
Only then did the pixie manage to catch its breath, flopping onto its back and panting heavily inside the iron cage.
"That was incredible!" Neville and Hannah stared at their wands in disbelief, their eyes wide with amazement.
Wyzett smiled. "Like Headmaster Dumbledore always says, every wizard has their own unique talents. That's why you should try using your strengths to approach other kinds of magic."
"And think about the Full Body-Bind Curse… Remember how we learned about Devil's Snare last year? Try using your understanding of that plant to help you master the spell. The more you experiment, the better."
"The Full Body-Bind Curse?" Neville's voice rose in surprise. "You mean, understand it through Devil's Snare?"
"Exactly!" Wyzett snapped his fingers. "And it doesn't have to stop there—you can try connecting it to all sorts of magical plants."
"There are so many magical plants in the greenhouse…" Luna breathed in deeply, as if she could already smell the fresh earth and leaves. "They're like colors on a painter's palette. Mix them together, and you can create any picture you want!"
Wyzett nodded approvingly. "Just like Luna said—treat them as your colors, and paint the magic you imagine."
"Right!" Neville tried to sound resolute. "I'll do my best!"
"Of course, this is just something I've found helpful," Wyzett added. "But how you go about it is really up to you."
"You're both brilliant at Herbology. When you discover something new, tell me about it. We'll all get better if we learn from each other."
"I'll work hard!" Hannah promised eagerly. "I'll definitely let you know!"
Luna squeezed Hannah's hand. "Don't put too much pressure on yourself. The most important thing is to be happy… Wyzett is always happy, every single day."
Wyzett looked at Luna and nodded firmly. "Whether it's studying or just living, both make me happy."
He went on, "And asking questions is important, too. Even when I use Transfiguration to understand a new spell, I'll go to Professor Flitwick and ask for his advice."
"Class is the perfect time for that, but if you don't speak up, it's hard for Flitwick to know if you really understand—he's got so many students."
"But like Luna said, don't stress out. Do what makes you happy. Just try and find what works best for you."
Neville hesitated. "But… if I ask questions like that… Professor Flitwick won't get annoyed, will he?"
"Of course not," Wyzett assured him. "He's a fantastic teacher. All the professors at Hogwarts are wonderful."
"All right! Time to clear out—if you want breakfast, go eat," Madam Pomfrey announced as she returned to the hospital wing. "Leave the beds for those who need them."
…
On the way to the Great Hall, Neville and Hannah kept thanking Wyzett and Luna, right up until Neville's stomach gave a loud rumble, making everyone burst out laughing.
As they entered, Wyzett glanced at the House Cup hourglasses. Snape had docked a total of one hundred and fifty points last night, but the rubies in the Gryffindor hourglass now looked far more plentiful.
It seemed Dumbledore had worked some magic of his own—probably after a word with Hermione and Ron—and restored quite a few points.
The Great Hall was buzzing with students, most of whom were joking about "the Heir of Slytherin." The topic was more fodder for teasing than for fear.
The Weasley twins even clapped their hands and announced, "All right, we confess! We're the real Heirs of Slytherin! Better watch out! Don't make us angry!"
The points Snape had deducted were now seen as proof that Colin really had gone out and gotten into trouble, otherwise there'd have been no reason to dock house points.
…
Wyzett had already eaten, and as he helped Luna spread honey on her bread, he listened to Roger Davies explain new Quidditch tactics for the upcoming training session.
With Arsenal Vincent having graduated, Roger Davies had officially taken over as the new captain of the Ravenclaw team.
Besides learning new strategies, the team's biggest task was to get used to their newly-upgraded brooms: the Cleansweep Seven.
After last year's championship, the Ravenclaw team finally received an equipment upgrade—swapping their old brooms for Cleansweep Sevens.
The Cleansweep Seven was a well-balanced broom, not quite as fast as the Nimbus 2001, but nearly on par with the Nimbus 2000.
Compared to the aging Cleansweep Five, Wyzett could feel the difference immediately—the new brooms were much more stable.
And not just stable, but faster too. He could dart around the pitch at speeds he'd never managed before.
…
The stands weren't filled with just Luna—there were plenty of other students who loved Quidditch, and even spies from rival teams, all eager to gather intel for their own strategies.
When they saw Wyzett streaking across the sky, leaving afterimages in his wake, many of their faces darkened.
Flint, the Slytherin captain, didn't even try to hide his intentions. He pointed straight at Wyzett, gesturing animatedly to his two Beaters.
Oliver Wood, captain of the Gryffindor team, wasn't about to miss the show.
Watching Flint plot, he muttered, "Oh, Flint's definitely scheming. Probably something like, 'Take out Wyzett first,' or 'Our brooms are faster'—typical Slytherin thinking."
"Targeting him first makes sense," Angelina Johnson sighed. "With those Cleansweep Sevens… he's even harder to stop now."
"Guess we'll just have to train harder!" Wood rubbed his hands together. "Now that the so-called heir has turned out to be a joke, we'll have more time for practice."
"Thank goodness we have Harry… As long as he can spot the Golden Snitch before Cho Chang, we can still win. The key is to be quick!"
"The key is not to say anything weird!" Angelina shot back. "Remember what you said yesterday? That's why Harry ended up in the hospital wing!"
"All right, all right!" Wood said hastily, his face red. "I promise, no more weird comments…"
The Hufflepuff captain had reached the same conclusion as Wood. He clapped Cedric on the shoulder and said, "It's all up to you—if we want a shot at winning, we've got to finish the match fast."
"At the speed Wyzett is flying now, even if you find the Golden Snitch after twenty minutes, it'll be tough to catch up on points."
Cedric could only offer a wry smile. "I'll do my best…"
Seeing his expression, the Hufflepuff captain quickly added, "Don't let it get to you. In a real match, anything can happen!"
