"Harry Potter- Ravenclaw"Chapter 181: Wanting to See Your Dreams
As time slipped by, the sun vanished behind thick clouds, leaving only a dappled, silvery-grey light scattered across the grounds.
It was the kind of soft, slightly wistful weather that seemed made for Quidditch training.
Maybe it was the thrill of their new broomsticks, but the team warmed up and got into the groove faster than ever before.
Once stretches were finished, Roger Davies called everyone to hover in formation above the pitch. He ran through their tactics one more time, and then they launched into drills.
The air rang with the whoosh of broomsticks as the team darted and weaved above the field. It was nearly noon before they finally touched down together, sprawling on the grass for a well-earned break.
Roger Davies clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention. "Great work today! You're all showing real improvement with the Cleansweep Sevens—but there's still room to get even better."
He turned to his right. "Cho, your strategy chasing the Golden Snitch was excellent, but you're still a bit stiff on the turns. We'll need to keep working on that."
Cho Chang nodded, her expression earnest. "Alright! Schedule me some extra turning drills next time—I'll start with those."
"No problem!" Roger scribbled a note on his clipboard, then looked over at their Keeper, Grant Page. "Teamwork's definitely improved since last time."
"But your positioning in the air could use some polishing… Go over Arsenal's notebook again—he left a lot of useful tips in there."
Grant Page scratched his head, looking sheepish. "Honestly… sometimes when Wyzett pops up out of nowhere, I get so startled I can't even react…"
Roger waved it off. "Don't worry. If you can block Wyzett, you'll have no trouble with attacks from Angelina, Alicia, and the rest. Just keep practicing!"
After a few more quick pointers, he wrapped up. "Next match is against Hufflepuff. Keep up this momentum and we'll have a much easier win than last year. Let's go, Ravenclaw!"
After practice, the team didn't rush back to the castle. Instead, they wandered the grass and circled the Black Lake, stretching out their legs and savoring the air.
They weren't the only ones. Dozens of students, bundled in thick robes, drifted around the castle grounds, enjoying the weekend.
Wyzett and Luna strolled along the lakeshore, where the trees had shed most of their leaves, their bare branches sketching intricate patterns against the sky.
They walked a full circuit. Wyzett exhaled a cloud of warm breath. "If you're cold, we can head back to the castle."
Luna shook her head gently and stooped to pick up a freshly fallen leaf.
She puffed out her cheeks and blew, mimicking Wyzett's breath. "See? Not cold at all. It's not raining for once, and it's the weekend…"
She tucked the leaf into her pocket, then hesitated mid-sentence.
Wyzett quickly asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Did you catch a chill?"
Luna shook her head again, looking at Wyzett with sudden seriousness. "Let's go back. It's time for lunch in the Great Hall."
"I'm not hungry yet," Wyzett replied, catching her meaning and smiling. "We just finished training—a bit more walking now means I won't be sore tomorrow."
"Mm!" Luna's eyes crinkled in delight. She skipped beside Wyzett, light and quick as a wild rabbit.
She must have dressed warmly—tiny beads of sweat glistened on her forehead.
Her hat was a purple-pink woolen cap with two fluffy pom-poms, bought last year at the department store. She'd sewn black thread and Dirigible Plums onto the pom-poms, transforming them into little Blibbering Humdingers—her favorite.
Watching Luna twirl the hat's strings and play with the pink, puffy Humdinger pom-poms, Wyzett said, "Once the Chamber business is settled, we can finally go to the Forbidden Forest."
"Secretly go to the Forbidden Forest," Luna echoed, her smile as sweet as Fizzing Whizzbees.
"There are so many school rules… We'll have to dodge Mr. Filch and avoid Hagrid's patrols…"
Wyzett didn't want to dampen her excitement. He nodded, "Alright, we'll be careful."
Luna went on, "You told me there are Blibbering Humdingers in the Forbidden Forest, and they're your friends. I can meet them too…"
"And the centaurs' altars, and that mysterious altar George and Fred mentioned… Oh! And there are Thestrals in the Forbidden Forest. We can try to find them too…"
"Thestrals?" Wyzett suddenly recalled seeing something strange while in the hospital wing.
He couldn't help but ask, "Luna, did you feel anything… different this morning?"
"Something different?" Luna tilted her head. "Do you mean flying around like a vampire bat?"
"Yeah…" Wyzett nodded. "Can you guess what I sensed?"
"Hmm…" Luna gently rubbed the Humdinger pom-pom. "Did you see what I was seeing? Like the Thestrals flying out of the Forbidden Forest, or me watering plants in the greenhouse?"
"Maybe it's because we formed another memory bond a couple of days ago…" Wyzett mused. "Maybe a certain feeling or thought triggered it."
Luna's eyes lit up. "Was it because I was thinking you might be too tired, and needed more rest?"
"That's it!" Wyzett remembered. "I was slacking off, daydreaming about home, picturing us tending the garden together…"
He added, "Did you feel any discomfort? Like dizziness or a headache?"
Luna pondered. "It just felt… magical. Like holding sand too tightly—if you try too hard to find it, you can't feel it at all."
Wyzett nodded. "That's exactly how I felt."
"If that's the case…" Luna closed her eyes and let the breeze sway her, like a sunflower turning toward the sun.
Wyzett watched her gently, ready to catch her if she stumbled.
After a moment, Luna opened her eyes and sighed. "It doesn't seem to be there anymore."
"Maybe there are special conditions?" Wyzett offered. "Or maybe it only happens in the morning—like dew that vanishes by noon."
"Morning, huh?" Luna brightened, her laughter like wind chimes in the breeze. "Maybe, just like finding Blibbering Humdingers in the wild, I'll get to see your dreams someday!"
Wyzett chuckled softly. "Then I'd better get some good sleep, and make sure my dreams are beautiful."
