Jiang Qi lifted the warm cup of soy milk to his lips and took a slow sip. As he lowered the cup, his eyes, almost out of habit drifted across the table and settled on Shen Yi.
As usual, Shen Yi was not eating much. His chopsticks barely moved, and the only thing that seemed alive about him at that moment was the quiet smile tugging at his lips as he watched Jiang Qi. That same gentle, unhurried look again, and filled with something Jiang Qi could never quite decipher.
Jiang Qi let out an inward sigh. He set his cup down and looked at Shen Yi with a mix of helplessness and resignation.
"What is it now?" he asked finally, voice low and calm, almost as though he already knew there would be no clear answer.
Shen Yi merely shook his head, his expression not changing in the slightest. The smile remained soft and wordless, yet his eyes didn't stray from Jiang Qi's face even for a second.
