Chapter 203 - Chapter 203: The Nun Who Fell from the Sky—Accelerator's Different Designations

Even if that basic knowledge was no less useful to Konoha than those ninjutsu—and was perhaps even more important.

So these points were essentially something he owed Konoha. Once everything settled down, he would earn them back through his own means and continue spending them on the village.

Ordinary Group Owner: "You don't need to be so formal about it. After all, you're Konoha's Hokage."

Ordinary Group Owner: "Setting aside Hiruzen Sarutobi, neither Hashirama Senju nor Tobirama Senju would probably mind."

Richest Man: "So what now? The mission depends on Minato, but the target is stronger than him."

Richest Man: "If the target has any issues with Minato, killing him wouldn't be difficult... Shouldn't we select the mission participants first and head over to keep an eye on things?"

Richest Man: "He probably won't do anything like that, but it's better to be safe."

Ordinary Group Owner: "That's true, but why are you bringing this up?"

Ordinary Group Owner: "It's not like you can participate in the mission."

Ordinary Group Owner: "Did you develop anti-Kaguya Ōtsutsuki armor or something?"

Roxie asked, puzzled. Though everyone wanted to participate in missions, shouldn't this kind of thing be brought up by people whose strength actually qualified them to join?

Even if someone was weaker, they shouldn't be too much weaker.

Even Tony's later-stage armors probably couldn't defend against mystical powers, right?

Richest Man: "???"

Richest Man: "You might have the wrong idea about me. This is just my one-sided concern for my fellow group members."

Glory of the Northern God: "ShibaSideEyeSmile.jpg"

Golden Flash: "Naruto probably wouldn't do something like that... In the parallel timeline, after he unified the Shinobi World, he revived that timeline's version of me and Kushina. Based on the mission description, he's been in this world for a while now. If he wanted to do something, the Shinobi World wouldn't be this peaceful."

Railgun: "Could he be observing?"

Railgun: "Like, noticing that your strength in this world is different from the original, or something."

Ordinary Group Owner: "That's possible."

Ordinary Group Owner: "By the way, Railgun, you haven't shown up in a while. Have you been busy lately?"

Railgun: "Not really busy."

Railgun: "Just had a little... situation."

Misaka Mikoto looked at the girl beside her and spoke somewhat hesitantly.

Ordinary Group Owner: "A situation?"

Ordinary Group Owner: "Such as?"

Railgun: "A nun who fell from the sky. With 103,000 grimoires in her head, or something like that..."

Ordinary Group Owner: "A nun? 103,000 grimoires?"

At first, Roxie didn't process it. But once it clicked, her expression instantly turned to one of shock and bewilderment.

Ordinary Group Owner: "Index?"

Ordinary Group Owner: "Holy crap! Isn't that supposed to be Touma Kamijou's storyline?!"

Ordinary Group Owner: "Did you steal his heroine?! Wait, that doesn't quite fit either, since you're also a heroine... so what does this count as?"

Railgun: "A Saint was chasing me relentlessly these past few days. And that magician too."

Ordinary Group Owner: "Kaori Kanzaki and them, right? And then?"

Ordinary Group Owner: "Curious.jpg"

Railgun: "Got some people together. Had a fight with them."

Railgun: "After we fought for a while, we reasoned with them."

Railgun: "They didn't know the common sense of the Science Side, so we educated them on the Science Side's common sense."

Railgun: "Though honestly, we couldn't have a proper conversation without fighting first."

Railgun: "I'm exhausted from these past few days."

Though she spoke lightly, heaven only knew how tense Misaka Mikoto had been these past few days because of those two.

Especially that Kaori Kanzaki—she was ridiculously strong, not even human.

Oh right, she wasn't really human to begin with. She was a Saint!

Ordinary Group Owner: "Got some people together?"

Railgun: "Accelerator, Shokuhou, Kuroko. But we still couldn't win—we could only barely hold our own."

Railgun: "I originally thought Accelerator could beat her, but nope."

Not that Misaka Mikoto was unhappy about this. She would have been quite pleased to see Accelerator get beaten up, though it didn't happen.

It was just that Accelerator didn't understand magic, so he was at a severe disadvantage in the fight. And the opponent seemed to be holding back somewhat.

What exasperated her most was that even though she had warned Accelerator beforehand, that guy still initially treated the opponent like an ordinary person or esper and just stood there motionless. He nearly got killed.

Ordinary Group Owner: "That's normal. Though I haven't watched much of Index, I've read plenty of analyses."

Ordinary Group Owner: "While a small minority thinks early Accelerator could beat Kaori Kanzaki, most people think he'd get instantly killed."

Ordinary Group Owner: "What confuses me is some of the titles and power comparisons they use for Accelerator."

Ordinary Group Owner: "Like 'Standing Mode,' 'Electrode Mode,' 'Black Wings Mode,' and 'White Wings Mode.' I get the last two. 'Standing Mode' I can sort of understand—does he just like standing still and letting people hit him, then reflecting it back with Vector Manipulation? But what does 'Electrode Mode' mean?"

Richest Man: "Are you asking us? If you don't know, we definitely don't know either."

Boil Dagu Into Soup: "At times like this, we should @Child of Nature."

Child of Nature: "...The topic seems to have gone off track again."

Child of Nature: "For the scientific Accelerator, if we're talking about 'Electrode Mode,' it should refer to the state in the anime."

Child of Nature: "But I haven't watched much of it either. I only have a general understanding."

Just like how Roxie watched anime by finishing one and moving to the next without deeply analyzing the content, he was much the same.

So he couldn't be certain about these terms either.

Ordinary Group Owner: "Hahaha, after all, we can only be considered half-otaku."

Ordinary Group Owner: "I've barely bought any figures."

Ordinary Group Owner: "Authentic figures are too expensive, and I don't want to buy bootlegs."

Ordinary Group Owner: "Sigh.jpg"

Ordinary Group Owner: "But anyway, why did Index end up with you?"

Railgun: "You're asking me? I don't know either."

Railgun: "Shrug.jpg"

Railgun: "Index has 103,000 grimoires in her head, but because of the seal, I don't dare let her write them down."

Railgun: "Having a treasure mountain but being unable to use it—this feeling really sucks."

Those 103,000 grimoires were worth nearly as much as a Magic God, if not quite at that level. Never mind raising her to Level 7—reaching Level 6 shouldn't be a problem, right?

Too bad. She didn't dare use it.
