Chapter 10
KING'S POV
"Alpha King," The man tilted his head as he regarded me. I didn't miss the fearful quiver in his voice. I wanted to scoff at how much my presence affected him.
How it made him think he is nothing but a foolish peasant. So foolish to think I would believe any word he sputtered that night. Those stupid claims on her that did nothing but grate my nerves.
If it wasn't for what my father's expectations demanded from me, he would not have returned home that night, feeling triumphant like he had won a trophy. It had taken everything within me not to have his face battered that night for thinking us a fool.
Sometimes, I hated that my name was King. I didn't like the fact that when they call me, it makes it sound like I am the Alpha King. I knew what my father did with that name and only time will tell how that was going to turn out.
