Bulma finally let out a sigh of relief as she watched the two Brolys gradually disappear into the distance. This time, at least, her dignity had been preserved.
"Phew! Vegeta, thank goodness you were here."
Bulma turned around, smiling happily and wanting to lean into Vegeta's arms.
But to her surprise, Vegeta was no longer by her side.
A small black speck could be seen in the sky; Vegeta had already flown far away. He, too, was deeply interested in the battle between the two of them.
He had only stepped in just now to protect Bulma's honor. Truthfully, he wanted to witness the fight between the two brothers for himself, just like Trunks.
Whoosh!
A shimmering afterimage appeared in front of Vegeta.
Goku's voice rang out: "Heh, Vegeta. Looks like you and I are thinking the same thing. I wonder who's stronger between those two."
"Oh, by the way, Vegeta, you looked so cool standing in front of Bulma just now."
In the past, Vegeta would have turned red and snapped back at Goku with a few sharp retorts.
But not now.
The tragedy that had taken place in Son Goten's timeline had been carved deeply into his heart. He would never forget it for the rest of his life.
He would never allow that kind of tragedy to happen again in this world.
Vegeta spoke quietly, his tone calm yet heavy. "Kakarot, if Chi-Chi had been the one being threatened just now, what would you have done?"
Goku froze for a moment at that.
The image of Future Chi-Chi's death flashed through his mind.
His eyes darkened and his fists clenched tightly as he replied, "I would've done the same as you, Vegeta."
Looking up at the two figures disappearing into the sky, Bulma shook her head helplessly.
"Honestly, it looks like the Saiyans will always be the most interested in fighting."
At some point, Chi-Chi had walked over to her side.
She nodded in agreement. "Exactly."
Then, with a gentle, heartfelt smile, she added, "But if it weren't for their obsession with battle and their constant striving to become stronger, we wouldn't have the peace we have today."
After everything she had gone through, Chi-Chi had learned to see things differently.
Bulla walked up to Bulma and took her mother's arm gently.
"Mom, why don't you rest first? You must've been frightened just now."
Bulma slowly nodded and said softly, "Yes, I really am a bit tired."
She let Bulla guide her toward a nearby chair.
Once Bulma was seated, Bulla turned and ran to Trunks's side.
"Big Brother, don't you want to see their battle, too?" she asked excitedly.
Trunks nodded slightly, his expression showing agreement. He was filled with curiosity and anticipation for the fight that was about to begin.
"Sure, let's go together. But there's no rush; we can Instant Transmission over there later," Trunks replied with a smile.
The siblings remained in their Super Saiyan 4 forms, not reverting to normal.
Their wild, powerful auras caught the attention of Son Goten, who had just gotten his hair cut. What he saw left him utterly stunned.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
Everyone in this timeline was beyond anything he could have ever imagined:
First, Gogeta; then, Gohanks (the fusion of Gohan and Trunks); and now, Trunks himself.
Even Bulla, the same girl who had just been chatting with him so kindly, possessed incredible strength.
From the moment he first saw her, Goten had assumed that Bulla was delicate and gentle. After all, in his timeline, Bulla had never fought. She had always seemed like a warm, understanding older sister who knew how to comfort others.
Just a short while ago, she had cut his hair and told him to face forward and stop living in the past.
Goten couldn't connect the kind, comforting Bulla he knew with the fierce, radiant Super Saiyan 4 he was seeing now.
Goten's gaze flickered with self-doubt. He was right; he was far too weak.
His newly achieved Super Saiyan 3 form wasn't worth mentioning in comparison.
Bulla turned her head and quickly spotted him.
"Goten, you're out already?"
Goten nodded repeatedly, staring at Bulla's new appearance in disbelief.
She flew over and asked, "You're coming to watch those two fight, too, right?"
Goten still had no idea what had just happened. He only knew that it had been noisy outside.
"Fight?" he asked, confused.
Bulla grinned and explained, "It's probably going to be a pretty amazing battle."
"Right, brother?" She looked over at Trunks.
"Yeah, it should be a good one," Trunks replied with a slight nod.
Trunks knew very well, though, that Z Broly's power level couldn't possibly match Super Broly's, according to what they knew of him.
Even so, the fight was worth watching.
After all, Z Broly had been inside Majin Buu's body for so many years, and the passive growth from the evolution of a Legendary Super Saiyan had continuously refreshed him.
Whether there would be any surprises in this battle, Trunks couldn't say for sure.
"Let's go, then, Goten. Come here and put your hand on my shoulder," said Bulla gently.
But Goten just stood there in a daze.
His eyes remained fixed on Trunks and Bulla, unable to look away.
He soon noticed something unusual: both Trunks and Bulla had tails.
Thinking back, he suddenly remembered that Gogeta and Gohanks had tails, too.
Noticing that Goten wasn't moving, Bulma walked up to him. "What's on your mind? You keep staring at me."
She waved her hand in front of his eyes.
Meanwhile, Trunks had already noticed how Goten was looking at her.
He wasn't just staring at Bulla; he was staring specifically at her tail.
Trunks stepped forward with a knowing smile and began to explain. "You're confused, huh?"
"If I'm not mistaken, you've only reached Super Saiyan 3, right?"
Goten blinked and replied, "Super Saiyan 3?"
Trunks continued, "Yeah, 'beyond the Super Saiyan who surpassed Super Saiyan.' Basically, that long-haired, golden form of yours."
Only then did Goten fully understand; his long, golden-haired form was Super Saiyan 3.
"Then, this form you two have now is clearly much stronger than mine. So, according to you, this must be Super Saiyan 4."
Trunks gave him a thumbs-up. "Smart guy."
"Now, here's the question: Do you want to become like this?"
Trunks had already sensed Goten's strong desire to grow stronger, so he asked the question deliberately.
Goten's heart thumped with excitement. His body tensed as he asked eagerly, "Can I become one too?"
Trunks replied firmly. "Of course you can. Give it a few days."
Then he turned to Bulla and asked, "Bulla, have Dad and the others used the Dragon Balls on Namek?"
Bulla scratched her head, thinking for a moment. "Hmm...no, they haven't."
Trunks walked up to Goten, patted him on the shoulder, and said,
"Don't worry. I'll make sure you keep getting stronger."
"And, by the way, those Dark Ones you've heard about? There isn't just one of them." He gave a faint smile.
"The one you encountered was the third Dark One we've faced."
