Son Goten's body vibrated with a low hum.

Trunks' words were sharp and full of purpose, and they had sunk into him, reigniting the single-minded focus he'd thought was gone.

The Dark Man. That was the one stain on his life, the person he hated, and the one he was still too weak to face. He still felt the cold dread of that moment. If Trunks and the others hadn't arrived, he would be a memory now. Not being the one to end the Dark Man's life himself was a regret that had festered in his gut.

But now, Trunks was offering a path, a chance at vengeance, even promising to help him achieve Super Saiyan 4.

Goten clenched his fists, the muscles in his jaw twitching. "I understand."

"Then let's go watch those two fight, Goten," Trunks said, a small, genuine laugh escaping him. "Maybe you'll learn something."

Even as he said it, Trunks knew it was ridiculous. Both Brolys were tornadoes of pure, unrestrained rage, especially Z Broly. Their fighting style was all instinct and brute force, devoid of any actual technique. There was nothing to learn.

Trunks clapped a hand on Goten's shoulder, then glanced over at Bulla. "Come on, Bulla. Let's head out."

Just as the three prepared to leave, a commotion from behind announced the arrival of three more figures.

"Boss! Wait for us!" Super Mini Cell bellowed, quickly joined by Gohan and Piccolo.

"Let's go together, Trunks," Gohan suggested, then turned to the Namekian with a look of concern. "Piccolo Ojisan, are you sure you want to go?"

Piccolo nodded, a familiar gravity to his expression. A fight of this magnitude? Of course, he had to see it. It might be dangerous, but with this many heavy-hitters around, his worries were minimal.

One after another, they placed their hands on Trunks' shoulder.

"Alright, everyone, hold on tight! We're moving!"

Whoosh!

In the next heartbeat, the group was gone.

The Battlefield… Earth.

The Far North.

Super Broly had chosen the very spot where he first landed on Earth as his battlefield. A strange, primal attachment seemed to draw him back to this frozen wasteland.

Tap,!

Both Brolys landed simultaneously.

Goku and Vegeta followed, touching down just behind them. They surveyed the desolate, snow-covered landscape.

Very quickly, Super Broly sensed a disruption in the air, a wrongness about the place. Memories of overwhelming grief and death began to churn in his mind.

His gaze snapped to a specific spot. What he saw made his chest seize up with a sickening pain.

It was Paragus's corpse. Preserved perfectly by the extreme cold, his father's body was unmarked by decay.

Tears, hot and sudden, slid down Super Broly's cheeks. His eyes glowed a furious, sorrowful red as he spun to face Goku and Vegeta.

"My father… how did he die?" Super Broly's voice cracked with a desperate urgency.

At the time, his mind had been a swirling storm of madness, his consciousness fractured. Now, with a clear head, he pieced together the one certainty: it couldn't have been these two. He had been locked in combat with both of them, never letting them out of his sight.

Just as Goku opened his mouth to explain, another voice cut in from behind Super Broly.

"It was Frieza." Piccolo, brought to the northern battlefield by Trunks' Instant Transmission, stepped forward.

"I was there," Piccolo stated, his tone heavy and uncompromising. "I wanted to stop him, but that bastard Frieza was too cruel. One minute he was bowing to your father, showing him respect, and the next, he murdered him without a second thought."

Piccolo laid out the truth.

As the explanation settled in, Super Broly's control began to shred. His father hadn't been a good man, not by any stretch, but without him, Broly wouldn't have survived. He was his only family.

Right before everyone's eyes, Super Broly's aura exploded, and he plunged once again into his Violent State.

He was half-crouched in the air now.

As the absolute fury boiling inside his body finally found its release, blazing, uncontrolled flames of energy erupted all around Super Broly.

Trunks murmured, his voice tight, "Showtime. Everyone, let's fall back."

The group scrambled backward, taking cover behind a towering ice ridge to watch the spectacle of Super Broly's transformation.

Across the snowfield, Z Broly stood with his arms crossed, a faint, condescending smirk playing on his lips.

"Tch. He's taking ages just to power up."

Whoosh!

With a negligible flicker of energy, Z Broly instantly shifted into his Super Saiyan form. His colossal body surged forward, closing the distance to Super Broly rapidly, a faint sphere of energy already gathering in his palm.

"Someone who looks like me, let's see what you've got."

As Z Broly raised his hand to launch the blast, a sudden, cold sense of alarm struck him.

Super Broly was still charging, but his physical form hadn't changed. Only his pupils had glowed a fierce, emerald green.

This isn't a Super Saiyan transformation. It was something alien, something Z Broly had never encountered. His form was the same, yet his power had unquestionably spiked.

Then, in the very next instant, a magnificent golden aura finally burst around Super Broly's body. He had achieved Super Saiyan!

But what made Z Broly's jaw drop was the sight before him: they were both Super Saiyans, but the other's aura felt vastly more powerful, more majestic, and utterly overwhelming than his own!

Regardless of who or what his opponent was, Z Broly's energy blast was already rocketing forward.

Just as the attack was about to strike, the awakened beast moved.

Super Broly simply tanked the hit head-on and charged toward Z Broly like a rampaging comet.

Their first collision had begun.

Seeing Super Broly's fist tearing toward him, Z Broly chose to meet it with his own.

BOOM!

A catastrophic burst of energy exploded between their bodies.

The result was immediate and devastating, Z Broly was sent careening hundreds of meters away, his body spinning violently as he smashed through several mountain peaks in succession.

Before he could even register the blow, Super Broly was a phantom, his figure splitting into afterimages that encircled Z Broly. In a flash, he was right next to him, his face contorted in a primal, furious roar:

"Frieza!!!"

At that moment, Z Broly caught the distinct, savage energy signature of his opponent. The look on his face, eyes gone white, expression utterly consumed by rage, was a chilling mirror image of his own Legendary Super Saiyan form.

The name that had just left the other Broly's mouth made it clear: pure, focused hatred had taken the reins.

"You've got to be kidding me! This guy's the same as me?!"

Z Broly couldn't tolerate the notion of a peer, an equal in savage power.

The next second, he cut his eyes toward Son Goku, who was watching dumbfounded from a distance.

Goku flinched internally. Is this guy thinking about killing me even while fighting someone else? Why the hell is he looking at me?

Goku's doubt was immediately shattered.

Z Broly threw his head back and let loose a monstrous, ear-splitting scream:

"Kakarot!!! Kakarot!!!"

His Legendary Super Saiyan form ignited instantly, the surge of pure, unadulterated rage pushing him to the limit.

It turned out Z Broly was using Goku, his ultimate trigger, as fuel to match his opponent's fury.

His golden hair shifted to a furious, green-tinged hue, and he stood tall once more.

The two titans interlocked their hands, their muscles bulging as they strained to overpower the other.

Each of them screamed the name of the one they despised most in the universe, "Kakarot!!!" "Frieza!!!"

Their roars cracked the sky.

The two colossal warriors had finally begun their savage, primal battle.
