Vegito glanced around at the Earth around him. It was clear that it had already been destroyed by Black Vegito.
The moment he saw someone dressed in a black robe, he knew it had something to do with Zamasu.
He stood there, his heart filled with irritation.
He had destroyed Black Vegito so cleanly and efficiently, yet now he suddenly felt Truhan's method would have been more satisfying. Locking the villain in a toilet for decades, slowly torturing him to death, would have been the ideal outcome.
"What's wrong, Dad?" Truhan asked, noticing Vegito's sudden halt.
Vegito paused, crossed his arms, and turned away, muttering, "Nothing."
"Tell me, how many Zamasus are there, anyway? With so many parallel worlds and timelines, how many has he already corrupted, and how many parallel worlds has he destroyed?"
Truhan's gaze stiffened as he followed Vegito's train of thought. He had considered the same question, but with countless parallel worlds, he couldn't know what had happened in other timelines.
"I don't know, Dad, but..."
"I think if we get the chance, we should check it out. But let's go back and deal with our own problems first."
"After all... there are many gods waiting for us to return."
With that said, the father and son prepared to head back.
But there was a problem now: how exactly were they supposed to return? The temporal rift in the sky was about to close.
Vegito reacted swiftly, teleporting directly into the sky.
"Truhan! Hurry up! Let's go!"
However, at that moment, Truhan froze.
Returning through the temporal rift again might be risky. The temporal turbulence contained countless parallel worlds, drifting randomly within the chaotic currents.
Truthfully, Truhan wasn't sure if they could find their way back again.
"Dad, I think we should find a different way home."
"A safer, more reliable method."
As soon as he spoke these words, Vegito stopped trying to enter the rift and quickly approached Truhan. "Oh? What method do you have in mind? Tell me about it."
Truhan took out the Time Ring he had removed from Black Vegito's finger.
"This is the Time Ring, the very device Zamasu used to travel through time."
"It's incredibly safe for time travel. Zamasu and Goku Black used it to reach our world."
"However, it can only travel to the future. Trying to go back to the past will result in temporal rejection."
Hearing this, Vegito crossed his arms and began analyzing the situation.
"So you're saying... we should use this to go back?"
"But didn't you just say it only goes to the future?"
Truhan nodded. "Dad's analysis is correct, but we are originally from the past. To us, this timeline is the future that Zamasu has already ruined."
"Using the Time Ring would simply return us to our own world. If we tried to go back to an even earlier point in our world's history, it would create a parallel timeline, and that timeline would reject us."
Truhan's explanation immediately made Vegito realize the truth.
But then Truhan added one more sentence, throwing his thoughts into disarray once more.
"However, I'm not completely sure it'll work because only Kaioshin are supposed to be able to use this thing."
As soon as these words left Truhan's mouth, Vegito was already preparing to charge back into the temporal rift.
But in the next moment, Truhan continued, "I think it should work."
Truhan began to recall a scene from his confrontation with Zamasu, who had been sealed in a toilet by Trunks.
It was the moment when Zamasu destroyed his own Potara earrings.
At the time, Trunks had seized Zamasu's Time Ring, prompting Zamasu to make the drastic decision to destroy the Potara earring.
This scene had always struck Trunks as peculiar.
He had pondered this mystery for a long time, and now he finally had an answer.
While it was true that only a Kaioshin could use the Time Ring, Zamasu wasn't a true Kaioshin.
He was merely a Kaioshin apprentice who had gained access to the Time Ring by wearing the Potara earrings.
Moreover, this wasn't limited to Zamasu. Even Goku Black, after swapping bodies, and Black Vegito were able to use the Time Ring.
Therefore, Trunks was certain of one thing!
The Time Ring did not recognize a Kaioshin but rather the Potara earring!
As long as someone wore the Potara earring, they could use the Time Ring!
With this realization, Truhan immediately handed the Time Ring to Vegito.
"Dad, you put it on first."
Vegito took the Time Ring and examined it for a moment before putting it on hesitantly.
"Then what about you?" Vegito asked worriedly.
Truhan smiled and pulled out a Universal Capsule, and a pile of miscellaneous items burst out from it.
After rummaging through the dusty pile for a moment, Truhan retrieved another Time Ring.
Vegito raised an eyebrow, completely surprised that there was another Time Ring.
"And where did this one come from?" he asked.
As Truhan slipped the Time Ring onto his finger, he explained, "I snatched it from Zamasu when I sealed him in the toilet."
"Then we planned to have the Grand Supreme Kai inside Buu take us out of that timeline, but he had exhausted his energy and fallen asleep."
"That led us to another future. You probably know what happened after that."
"Trunks has kept this ring safe all this time. I never thought it would come in handy again."
After hearing Truhan's explanation, Vegito gave him a thumbs-up. "Well done! You're truly my son."
However, there was another problem: what to do with Beerus.
Vegito pointed at him. "What about this guy?"
Truhan glanced at Beerus lying on the ground. "Let's put him in a Universal Capsule for now."
With that, Truhan gathered Beerus's body and the scattered debris into a pile and sealed them back into the Universal Capsule.
"Let's go, Dad."
With that, Truhan closed his eyes, gambling that his intuition was correct.
But after a moment, he still couldn't activate the Time Ring.
Suddenly, something occurred to him: though Zamasu wasn't a Kaioshin, he was still a Kaiō—a being of divine origin.
If that were the case, Truhan reasoned, he should try infusing the Time Ring with divine energy.
Sure enough, the Time Ring reacted. He had gambled correctly.
"Dad! Inject divine energy into the Time Ring!"
Vegito followed his son's instructions without hesitation. As expected, the Time Ring responded.
Together, father and son vanished from this world.
Meanwhile, in a hidden corner of this world, a Black shadow had been secretly observing everything. A sinister smile spread across its face as it, too, disappeared into the temporal rift, following Vegito and Truhan into the temporal turbulence of parallel worlds.
