"Then let's start the countdown. Our time zones are different, so your watches might have slight deviations. The operation begins in a little over two minutes!"
Chu Xuan put away the communicator. Zhang Jie, Zheng Zha, Zhan Lan, Zhao Yingkong, and the others all wore expressions as if they had seen a ghost.
Yujin cleared his throat, "Everyone, I'm about to fly out as a target. If I die, please remember my good deeds."
Chu Xuan glanced at Yujin calmly and drew another conclusion.
"So the Lord God Space has a method to revive dead teammates? Got it."
Yujin shut his mouth, afraid of revealing too much. This guy had already figured out that he was a reborn reader of the original story.
Yujin drove a kilometer away from the police station and got out of the car.
He took a deep breath, pushed off with force, and shot into the sky like an arrow leaving a bowstring.
The wind roared past his ears, and his clothes flapped violently.
As he ascended, Yujin fully activated his Observation Haki. His perception spread outward like an invisible net, trying to detect any trace of danger.
At the same time, within the East Sea team, the psychic controller, Ikumi, narrowed her eyes. Her immense psychic power shot like an invisible beam, instantly piercing space and locking onto Yujin in the sky.
Yujin felt an invisible pressure envelop him, as if every move he made was being monitored.
Meanwhile, on the North Polar Team team, the psychic controller, Bev Field, also acted quickly.
She placed her hands gently on her forehead, focusing all her psychic power, and started probing in the direction of the East Sea team.
Her psychic energy moved like agile tendrils, carefully avoiding all interference, gradually infiltrating the East Sea team's formation and successfully gathering their information.
Ikumi noticed the psychic probing and her expression instantly changed.
She let out a cold snort and tried to trace the energy back, intending to find the enemy hiding in the shadows.
However, just as her psychic energy extended outward, she was shocked to find the other's presence had vanished without a trace, as if it had never existed.
A sense of unease surged in her heart. She furrowed her brows and scanned her surroundings cautiously, yet still found no clue.
"What's wrong?" Miyata Kuraki noticed Ikumi's reaction and immediately asked with concern.
"Our position has been exposed!"
"What?!" Miyata Kuraki placed his hand on his sword, eyes scanning the dimly lit surroundings before dawn, carefully assuming a defensive stance.
Seeing their captain like this, two members of the East Sea team, who had agreed to compete on kill counts, turned their backs to Miyata Kuraki, revealing faint, hardly noticeable smirks.
Gunswordsman Nakamura Jinta of the reinforcement route looked up at Yujin in the sky. "Captain, I'll take out this guy first with the Green Goblin skateboard!"
Before Miyata Kuraki could respond, Tanaka Jūsuke of the Three-Sword Style objected. "Hey! That's cheating! Your Green Demon skateboard came from the Indian team. It's supposed to be a team asset, and now you're using it to get the first kill in our bet? That's unfair!"
Miyata Kuraki had no way to control the two killers in his team. Their old captain had ascended to the Celestial Team after a terrifying performance in the Upper-Upper Division horror match.
As a temporary captain, he lacked the ability to strategize with the team.
Even with teammates from his own cohort, he had very little authority over them.
Nakamura Jinta, looking disdainful, stepped onto the Green Demon skateboard.
Flames of ghostly blue shot out from its base as he quickly ascended, chasing Yujin in the sky who was flying with his Wing Kagune.
The skateboard moved incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, it reached a speed of 1000 km/h, leaving a long white trail in the air like a nimble dragon shooting into the sky.
Soon, Nakamura Jinta closed the distance with Yujin, a cruel smile tugging at his lips, eyes gleaming with the pride of an almost certain victory.
He expertly maneuvered the Green Demon skateboard and pressed the missile launch button with his toe.
With a sharp "whoosh," a missile shot out from the skateboard's built-in launcher.
The missile glimmered with cold metallic light, trailing orange-red flames, its built-in tracking system immediately locking onto Yujin's position, speeding toward his back.
Nakamura Jinta crossed his arms, standing steadily on the skateboard, imagining how the reckless kid in front of him would now dodge this deadly strike.
However, to his surprise!
Yujin suddenly looked back. His eyes, bearing the triple tomoe Sharingan, spun rapidly, instantly locking onto the missile's collision fuse.
Nakamura Jinta's hand moved swiftly to the pouch at his waist and pulled out a shuriken.
He flicked his arm hard, and the shuriken sliced through the air toward the incoming missile.
In the weak morning light, the shuriken flashed coldly as it struck the missile's impact fuze with precision.
There was a thunderous explosion as the missile detonated prematurely in midair.
Flames leapt up and a powerful shockwave rippled outward in visible rings.
The blast rocked Nakamura Jinta, and his Green Demon board nearly went out of control beneath his feet.
The smile vanished from his face in an instant, replaced by shock and fury.
The North Polar Team, watching everything, showed faces that said, "So that's how it is."
Dick Brooks murmured, "So that's the Farming Team leader's strength — he can neutralize the Green Demon board's missile that easily?"
Gonniel felt his captain's pride challenged and shot Brooks a look.
"Farming Team, huh," he scoffed.
"He's the only one on that team who can fight, and he bought that strength by sacrificing eighty percent of his squad members. You really think he's that strong?"
Brooks knew what Gonniel meant and changed tone immediately.
"A man like him won't have much achievement on the Gene Lock system. At best he gained a first‑stage Gene Lock through the T virus, which is far below your second‑stage Gene Lock, Captain."
Gonniel snorted.
"From what I've seen so far, I'd say I have at least a forty percent chance against him. The gap in Gene Lock stages isn't something simple strengthening can make up for."
High above, Nakamura Jinta steadied himself on the Green Demon board.
Below him lay the small town school where Yujin had just vanished.
Only the duty guard remained inside the school, and Yujin's whereabouts were unknown.
Nakamura rode to the security office and his katana flashed coldly.
Before the guard could react, Nakamura swung and cut the man's head clean off.
Blood sprayed over Nakamura Jinta.
He laughed wildly as he swung the blade through the air and shouted, his voice full of madness, "Come out! Don't hide anymore! You can't escape the Green Demon board's pursuit. Pointless hiding will only drain your stamina!"
"If you're a man, then come out and fight me to the death!"
He spat an obscenity and another hateful shout.
Dressed in a demon samurai outfit and wielding his katana, Nakamura raved, hurling insult after insult as if he had studied that history of such words well.
Suddenly, Nakamura turned his head.
He saw a water dragon!
The dragon's body stretched with the wind, growing rapidly. In no time, it reached ten meters in length, looming above Nakamura Jinta!
Facing the dragon's gaping, bloody mouth, Nakamura Jinta gripped his sword tightly, a bead of sweat sliding down his brow.
Yujin's voice echoed through the school.
"You still dare to try to kill your own black dad? Truly unfilial!"
As the last hand seal was formed, Yujin roared, "I'm forming the seal! What are you waiting for? Waiting to die?"
"Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
