"You damned guy, I'll show you my true power!"
Nakamura Jinta's eyes widened in fury.
He poured every ounce of his demonic energy into his tachi, and the blade began to tremble violently, humming with sound.
Then he leapt high and traced a graceful arc through the air as he brought the tachi down with force.
A huge, black crescent-shaped blade of light appeared in an instant, and wailing spirits echoed within the blade as if it intended to consume everything in the world.
"Demon Prison Slash!"
Yujin felt the overwhelming force bearing down on him and didn't dare be careless.
He fully activated Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) and the Sharingan, trying to find a flaw in the attack.
At the last critical moment, Yujin noticed the edge of the blade's energy was slightly weaker.
He flashed in body, moved to the blade's edge, and used the Wind-Release 'Earth Grudge' on his shoulder to perform a Wind-Release Suppression, generating a powerful gust that skewed the blade's trajectory.
The crescent blade grazed past Yujin's body and sliced into the empty ground beside him.
"Whoosh!"
The Demon Prison Slash struck the empty ground and instantly caused a massive explosion.
Dust and debris filled the air, and the earth was blown into a huge, deep crater.
After landing, Nakamura Jinta laughed loudly as he looked at the smoke-filled crater.
"Hahaha! This move is worth one or two C-sub plotlines!" he shouted before his words finished.
At that moment, he felt a sharp sting from behind him.
He wildly swung his sword, forcing Yujin, who was behind him, to retreat, and then dodged to one side.
Nakamura Jinta reached for his waist and yanked hard.
His body staggered uncontrollably as he pulled out a gleaming kunai that shone with a chilling light.
Seeing Yujin standing there, completely unharmed and smiling calmly, Nakamura almost broke down.
"Damn it! Damn it! How—how are you perfectly fine!?"
If it weren't for the armor he wore — an item left behind by a senior who'd once survived death, a rare B-rank side-quest item — Nakamura would've already been run through by Yujin's blade.
"You're finished."
Yujin's voice was polite, almost formal, as he announced the man's death sentence.
His hands moved rapidly, forming seals — preparing to unleash his composite jutsu: Fire and Wind Style — Flame‑Wind Chaos Wave.
The moment Nakamura saw Yujin's hand signs, and the blue mask on his shoulder begin to inhale deeply, he felt dread clutch his heart.
Something was wrong.
He turned to run——but his body wouldn't move. His legs felt trapped, sinking as if he'd stepped into a swamp. The harder he struggled, the deeper he sank.
As a man from Japan, Nakamura realized immediately— Genjutsu!
But knowing what it was, and knowing how to break it—were two completely different things.
Outside the illusion, Yujin was about to unleash his strongest attack yet.
Then—
A sudden chill ran down his spine.
Through his powerful sensory ability — Observation Haki — Yujin sensed an intense killing intent rushing from his right rear flank.
Behind him, Miyata Kuraki frowned deeply and swung his katana with full force.
"Slash!"
A visible, rainbow-colored arc of sword energy tore through the air straight toward Yujin!
It was—
The Asura Evil Light Slash, a move straight out of Dungeon Fighter Online!
For a brief moment, Miyata exhaled in relief.
That slash would definitely interrupt Yujin's hand seals. Nakamura would be saved——but before he could even blink, Yujin's seals were already complete.
The roaring flames of Fire and Wind Style — Flame‑Wind Chaos Wave erupted, engulfing Nakamura Jinta completely.
Miyata stood frozen, stunned.
What kind of madman was this!?
He'd rather take a direct hit—just to kill his target!?
"Water Formation Wall!"
"Iron Body!"
Clang!
Yujin was blasted away by the overwhelming force of the attack!
However, when he stood up again—though blood trailed from the corner of his mouth—a smile still played across his face.
Within the raging sea of flames, only a set of ghostly samurai armor remained, its body long since reduced to ash.
The East Sea Team had lost one member.
********
Flames shot high into the sky!
Nakamura Jinta, who had been lively just moments ago, was now roasted alive inside his Ghost Warrior armor, the heat searing him through the metal.
Yujin, observing this scene, summed it up in two words: "Air fryer."
Seeing his comrade die only strengthened the murderous intent of Miyata Kuraki, who had enhanced his Asura skills in DFO.
He covered his eyes with a strip of black cloth, and white ripples, visible to the naked eye, radiated outward from his feet.
This was a fighter whose strength rivaled a third-tier gene lock user!
Even the legendary Meng Yao, standing before Miyata Kuraki at the time, might not have been able to deal with him without a trump card like a Xenomorph Queen boss to rely on.
With an A-rank enhanced Asura bloodline, Miyata Kuraki, in any team, was a top-tier expert.
Yujin did not dare be careless. He quickly deployed his unused Substitute and Clone techniques, while the second-stage Cursed Seal of Heaven wrapped the Feather Kagune and Tail Kagune around him, bringing his state to maximum.
Miyata Kuraki found it strange that members of the Central Continent team still had energy left even after killing Nakamura Jinta.
With his A-rank Asura enhancements, he had unlocked two perception skills: Killing Intent Sense and Killing Wave Sense.
These abilities, combined with his blindfolded eyes, gave him a perception similar to Kenbunshoku Haki—but far more extreme than a beginner-level Kenbunshoku.
It was somewhat like Admiral Fujitora's perception—a closed-off view granting far stronger awareness.
Through this heightened perception, Miyata Kuraki concluded that Yujin had only unlocked the first-level gene lock.
Yet, just from observing Yujin's complex skills and diverse bloodlines, it was clear he had endured countless horror movies to gain such abundant reward points and sub-plots.
And yet, this character was only a first-level gene lock?
If he unlocked a second-level gene lock… wouldn't he directly rival—or even overpower—a third-level gene lock expert?
This person must not be allowed to live!
Miyata Kuraki reached his conclusion, and his katana emitted a series of piercing roars.
Seeing Miyata Kuraki's state, Yujin frowned.
It seemed that experience and practice truly paid off.
He had played "DFO" before, and the Asura had appeared in several versions. Yujin knew the skills well.
This opening move… was a level 35 Asura skill!
Explosive Flame: Wave Sword!
Just moments ago, Yujin had used a water barrier and iron block to withstand the Evil Light Slash—which was only a level 20 Asura skill.
Facing the Level 35 skill, Explosive Flame Wave Sword, which consumed colorless small crystals, Yujin had only one thought.
Use Rashomon to block it!
He didn't dare bet on whether Substitute Technique could dodge the range of the Explosive Flame Wave Sword.
The safest option was Rashomon.
The great battle was about to erupt, and Miyata Kuraki also prepared to draw his blade and unleash his ultimate move.
But then, Miyata Kuraki suddenly froze in his action.
He pressed his temple and shouted into the air, "Wait for me!"
After saying this, Miyata Kuraki acted as if he had forgotten that Yujin had just killed one of his teammates.
He drew his Green Demon Skateboard and shot straight into the sky.
Yujin stopped forming hand seals, slowly stood up, and muttered to himself, "Chu Xuan, don't let your schemes take down the whole team."
