[MEEREEN - STREET]

[The Unsullied march through the street. DAARIO and GREY WORM speak, walking through an alley together.]

"The Unsullied are too conspicuous. Anyone can see you coming from a mile off. Of course, you haven't found any Sons of the Harpy. You haven't, have you?"

[GREY WORM grunts a "no".]

"My Second Sons, on the other hand, they drink, they whore, fight in the streets-they blend in. They overhear things in taverns, follow people from the taverns to nice, quiet alleys, break a few fingers, and overhear a few more things. Before you know it..."

[DAARIO has brought them to a door. GREY WORM knocks it in and rushes to the room. He, DAARIO, and an Unsullied inspect the room quietly.]

"All that talk for nothing" Robb snorted.

"No... they are hiding" Daenerys spoke softly. She knew how there were always hiding spots out in the open, hiding in plain sight as people called it. She had hid like that many times to avoid the Usurper's hired knives.

"No one here. We go."

"In a hurry? Are you afraid?"

"Unsullied fear nothing."

"Right. That's your problem. You understood fear once, long ago, but you've forgotten what it means. Someone who's forgotten fear has forgotten how to hide."

[DAARIO quickly pulls a dagger out and stabs into a wall covered by a bookcase that immediately gives way. A man screams and falls out of the wall.]

Robb blinked in shock while Daenerys looked smug at figuring it out.

"Fear is useful that way."

[He pats GREY WORM on the shoulder. The Unsullied soldier grabs the man. GREY WORM searches the hiding place and finds daggers lying on the ground with a Sons of the Harpy mask.]

"Daario is efficient" Rhaegar commented.

"Well-maintained armies are best on the battlefield. People like Daario and the men he leads are best for more than that. They grew up on the streets in a sense when compared to how an army is constructed and each man is trained, they know better than those army men how to break out of discipline and find chinks in any armour. Which makes them more dangerous than any army" Varys explained.

"Are people like these who you use for your spy network then?" Rhaegar questioned.

"I will not confirm nor will I deny it" Varys smiled.

[MEEREEN - PYRAMID]

[DAARIO, MOSSADOR, HIZDAHR, SER BARRISTAN and DAENERYS discuss about the captured Harpy spawn.]

"Sons of the Harpy, they want to put a collar back on my neck. On all of our necks. Please, Your Grace, you must kill him."

"It would send a message."

"I think you should exercise restraint, Your Grace."

"Why?"

"For one thing, he may have valuable information."

"The Son of the Harpy has no more valuable information. I questioned him."

"And the information you did get, he is young and poor."

"He is born free."

"Why should he want to bring back slavery? What did it do for him?"

"Perhaps the only thing that gave him pride was knowing that there was someone lower than he was."

"They pay him. Great families afraid to do a thing. They pay poor man to do it for them."

"Using lesser people, people in need specifically, has always been how revolutions of rich men and women are fought" Varys pursed his lips.

"And this is the system you wish to break" Gendry pointed out.

Varys nods.

Gendryshook his head. He saw no way for this to happen, no hope.

"And how do you know this?"

"Everyone knows this."

"I don't know it, and I'm the head of a great family."

"And your close association with Daenerys has made you a liability to them" Tyrion pointed out.

"Or perhaps he is a spy sent to keep his eyes on Daenerys and report" Robb threw in.

The thought made Daenerys shudder. It could easily be true.

"We do not know what this man did or didn't do."

[SER BARRISTAN turns to DAENERYS]

"Give him a trial, at least. A fair trial. Show all of the citizens of Meereen that you are better than those who would depose. Teach them a better way."

"I do not know the place from where Old Ser comes. Things may be different there, I hope. But here, in Meereen, before Daenerys Stormborn, they own us. So we learn much about them or we do not live long. They teach me what they are. Mercy, fair trial: these mean nothing to them. All they understand is blood!"

"Perhaps both can be achieved" Jon frowned. "A trial by combat. Daario has already questioned him, so now if he wishes to be proven innocent, he can fight his way out. Use the fighting pits so all can see it. The people will have their blood, and whoever wins, justice will be served."

"And what if I lose in that?" Daenerys questioned.

"Choose your champion smartly. Someone skilled and smart, but not someone who is unbeatable, like one of your Dragons. Daario would no doubt agree to be your champion."

He would. From what Daenerys saw, Daario would jump at the chance.

[They all look to DAENERYS.]

"Thank you all for your counsel."

[Everyone gets up from the table and exits the room except SER BARRISTAN.]

"Your Grace, a word, please, I beg you."

"About what?"

"About your father. About the Mad King."

"The Mad King? You're here to remind me of my enemies' lies? Consider me reminded."

"It is no lie," Robb said angrily.

"I know that now!" Daenerys muttered.

"Your Grace, I served in his Kingsguard. I was at his side from the first. Your enemies did not lie."

"Go on."

"When the people rose in revolt against him, your father set their towns and castles aflame. He murdered sons in front of their fathers."

Rickard and Brandon stiffened.

"He burned men alive with Wildfire and laughed as they screamed. And his efforts to stamp out dissent led to rebellion that killed every Targaryen except two."

"I'm not my father."

"No, Your Grace. Thank the gods. But the Mad King gave his enemies the justice he thought they deserved. And each time it made him feel powerful and right. Until the very end."

"I will not have the Son of the Harpy executed without a fair trial."

"You're easily swayed with the right words" Arya complained. "Ser Barristan may be right, but you're easily swayed!"

"It was good counsel" Jon reasoned.

"Maybe, but she's easily swayed."

"Don't mind her, she is still a child" Lyanna whispered kindly.

Daenerys nods. But the question was placed in her mind now. Was she easily swayed?
