Chapter 102 - The Chosen One of Darkness

A little while later, Vixen finally returned home.

When Kin and Zavrion told him everything that had happened, Vixen's face grew heavy with worry.

The village was changing… day by day, the pressure of demonic energy was growing stronger, spreading its claws deeper into every corner of their lives.

One afternoon, all the villagers gathered together in the square. The air was thick with fear and whispers as they discussed the rising wave of cult activity, demonic energy, and black magic that had been haunting their land.

Kin, Vixen, Zavrion, and Kenny were present among them, listening in silence.

One by one, the villagers stood up, their voices trembling but filled with desperation. They spoke of the same horrors—possession, strange shadowy figures appearing in the dark, unseen forces pressing into their daily lives.

"It's ruining us," one man cried. "We can't live like this anymore!"

Another woman said, "Every day, someone sees… something. We don't know what's real anymore. Please, do something!"

All eyes turned toward Vixen and Zavrion. The villagers were pleading, their hope clinging only to them.

Vixen's jaw tightened. He could feel their fear, their helplessness sinking into him like poison.

Then, in a moment of unity, Vixen and Kin clasped hands. Both released their pheromone powers together, summoning their spirit animals for guidance.

A sudden pulse of energy rippled through the air. The ground trembled faintly as the spirits appeared, their glowing forms casting eerie shadows against the villagers' faces.

The crowd fell silent, their breath caught between awe and terror.

Vixen spoke first, voice steady, "Tell us… what must be done?"

The spirit animals gazed at them, their eyes glimmering with otherworldly wisdom. And then, one of them spoke, its voice echoing like a whisper from beyond:

"This burden cannot be lifted by all. Only one holds the key… Only Zavrion has the power to break the darkness strangling this village."

The words settled like ice in everyone's heart. All heads turned toward Zavrion—his face pale, his body frozen.

The villagers bowed their heads, their hopes and fears now tied to him alone.
