Ela POV
I had lost track of how long I had been here.
– Freedom, ~.... Please….. I can't take it anymore
The light never changed.
There was no morning, no evening, no shadow long enough for me to measure time. Even when I closed my eyes, this whiteness seemed to remain behind my eyelids.
I wasn't hungry.
I wasn't thirsty.
I didn't even really want to move anymore.
Help!
The bed was comfortable, the temperature pleasant, and the silence even more unbearable since I regularly saw that thing.
He was still there.
– hha~...
Standing near the wall.
His face was hidden behind this white mask which he covered with his two hands; he looked like nothing.
I had been watching him for several minutes when he approached.
I did not back down.
He stopped in front of me as if I had scolded him.
– N.
I looked up.
- What ?
He did not reply.
He simply placed a hand on my hair.
The gesture was strange, almost affectionate.
I remained motionless; I didn't care what he might do or say.
– You are sad.
I turned my face away.
What a silly question, that was fundamentally my emotion
– Non.
I replied to him
Her hand slowly slid over my hair.
– Mom is here now.
But my heart, like my head, was empty.
- Mom ?
The mask no longer moved; it seemed to exist.
- Yes.
I searched for his face behind that white surface, as if I could actually see someone through it.
– What is "mother"?
He raised a finger and placed it against my forehead.
– N is very ill.
I sighed and gently pushed his hand away.
– let me sleep
The mask remained in front of me, tilting its head slightly.
– N must come.
I opened one eye and looked at the door.
It was still closed.
– Leave me alone.
Silence fell and I lay back down.
For a few seconds, nothing happened.
Then the voice changed.
- complicated.
It gave me no more hope, he often threw out random words like that, at first I thought he was making a report, all I had to do was cooperate to regain my freedom but the days went by, went by, all looked the same and it was impossible to keep up that I just stopped.
Once again I let myself be disappointed, how many times I didn't hope, it makes me want to cry.
