『Hakari Kotaro』
Toganium stocks have NEVER been harder, and neither have I.
I must have cuddled and pampered Toga for an hour before I let her go since I needed to go back to the waiting room and properly process the ability she had given me. Which was...
Rolling Platinum Ability Gacha...
An Epic Ability!
[Super Regeneration]
|Epic Ability|
Gives you an unimaginable Healing Factor on par with someone like the Wolverine minus the immortality. As long as it doesn't instantly kill you, chances are you will survive, as long as you have energy that is. You can further speed up healing by expending energy.
I feel like I don't have to describe just how incredible this was. A much lesser regeneration effect saved me against Shigaraki. This was an epic rank healing ability that was focused on myself, maybe even on par with Nomu's healing, and that guy could lose and get a limb back in seconds.
Granted, this ability probably required a shit ton of energy, but that did not matter; the sheer synergy it had with my style was incredible. Especially my Regenerator trait that gave this trait a flat-out 2x boost.
And... I could now spam Hemokinesis all I wanted without having to worry about bleeding out. Hell, with enough energy, I could probably down an entire room or street in my blood.
What a miracle to get this right before facing Shoto, as I have said before, nothing in this world is stronger than Toganium. No RNGesus, no Lady Luck. In Toga we thrust.
Trust.
I watched clips of the fights I missed from my phone in the waiting room. As expected, Kirishima stood no chance against Vine Hair Girl, and Ochako managed to clutch a win against ironironironiron by applying her quirk on him and sending him out of bounds with a shoulder throw.
The second rounds were more interesting. Momo against Monoma was a difficult battle, in the end, unfortunately Momo lost since Monoma brought a counter to her ability by copying Ibara's vine hair and using them to throw her out of the ring.
Izuku decisively won against Mina by sacrificing a pinky finger to flick all the acid off the arena before rushing her and tackling her out of the ring. And then after their match, it was finally the fight I was waiting for.
Current Abilities
•Greater Hemokinesis
•Super Regeneration
•Iron Flesh
I changed into my loadout. I was still bruised, but not to a level where it would affect my performance all that much.
Getting up from the chair, I turned on my heel and followed the way out of the waiting room and into the stadium, where everyone was already waiting for me. The moment I stepped out into the light from the darkness the corridor, cheers erupted. But I did not mind them as much right now, my mind was completely focused on the oncoming fight and not on other people.
""On one side is the Chaotic Wonder Boy himself who has been stealing the entire show, Hakari Kotaro! And on the other side we have boy with immense power and control, following Hakari's trail like a bloodhound, the son of Endeavor, Shoto Todoroki! I can't wait to see who comes out on top!""
We both stepped onto the large concrete stage and we silently sized each other up. The air was tense. My blood thrummed beneath my skin. I was going to win this even if it took me everything I had.
""And... START!!!""
Unlike my bout with Bakugou, the moment the word go was given, it was go, blood poured out of my arms and I turned on Flowing Red Scale while Todoroki pressed his foot down and sent and a wave of glaciers towards me.
Woosh!
I darted forward and quickly sidestepped the wave of ice, blood pouring out of my arms to form several chakrams that I let loose towards Todoroki who was forced to block them with a thick wall of ice. A grinding noise was heard as the Slicing Exorcism forced itself against the ice.
But while he blocked the attack, because of his wall of ice, he lost sight of me, forcing him to use a blind wave of ice to try and hit me, but I easily dodged it by using a tendril of blood to boost myself up and over.
"Oi, do you think you'll win like this?"
I withdrew the blood chakrams and started condensing them while pouring more blood out and turning that into a Convergence that I started charging up.
Crash!
The blind aiming of Todoroki was not doing him any favors; he couldn't let go of his wall of ice, because then I'd have direct access to hitting him with my ranged attacks. His ice was a bad matchup against the versatility of my Hemokinesis.
"Your ice is too slow to tag me like this."
I landed on the ground and snapped my finger as several marble-sized balls of blood circled the wall and exploded, shattering the wall apart to reveal Todoroki behind.
"Shut it...!"
Instead of making another ice wall, he decided to go all in on offense, sending a wall of icebergs my way with more speed than before. But I was quicker on the draw, before the iceberg could reach me, I clapped my hands together.
'Piercing Blood!'
Fssshhh!!!
A line of red cut through the icebergs and the arena itself, and put a massive deep cut right next to where Todoroki was standing just centimeters off, making him stop dead in his tracks.
In fact, the entire stadium was plunged into silence as I walked towards Todoroki, the shock from the near-death by pressurized blood still hanging in the air.
"I didn't have to miss." I put my hands down and tilted my head. "Why are you still fucking around?"
That snapped Todoroki out of his shock as he clenched his fists and glared at me.
"What are you talking about?"
My expression couldn't help but sour.
I knew I was probably overstepping, that I probably should not intervene in this. But I had to speak my mind here. Besides, I didn't want a half-assed victory against a half-assed asshole.
"It pisses me off, y'know? Everyone is trying so hard, even I'm trying so hard, I've never tried so hard in my life before, yet you, you say you're gonna beat everyone with only half your effort. Shut the fuck up."
That's the part that pissed me off about Shoto, he was blessed with a power so great, yet he refused to use it out of pettiness and revenge. When I got the Gacha, I made my damn best to make the most of it every time, yet I almost still died. And yet, here he was, saying his half effort was better than mine. Better than Toga's and everyone elses.
"Even Mineta tries harder than you, but you claim that you are going to be better than everyone with just half your effort. That you are going to be the best hero in a job where people risk their lives while not using the other half of your power out of spite."
He glared at me as if I had murdered his parents as the air around him grew colder.
"Shut up. You know nothing, I will not use my father's flames-"
"I don't. And I don't care. They are your flames, not his, I'm not fighting your father here, am I?" I glared at him, "Is the whole becoming a hero part just to prove your father wrong too? Is your entire life just about your father? You're going to stop using a part of yourself that you can use to win and save people just because you are afraid of his shadow? If that's the case, then drop out of school right now."
I took a step forward and held his glare.
"So tell me, do you really want to be a hero?"
For the first time, he was shocked silent. My words actually seemed to get through to him as he stared at nothing for a few seconds as if remembering something, before gritting his teeth.
"No... I want to be a hero."
I spread my arms and held his glare.
"Then why are you still holding back!? If you want to be a hero, then stop holding back, it's not your father's quirk! It's yours! You aren't denying him, you are denying yourself. So, I'll ask again." I lowered my voice and arms. "Do you want to be a hero?"
Woooosh!!!!
As if something snapped inside him, Shoto let out a burst of flames that I could feel from all the way here; the heat radiating off of him felt like a wall almost. The expression he gave me was one that was mixed with frustration, happiness, annoyance, and most of all, determination.
"I... want to be a hero! I'm going to be a hero!"
That's more like it.
Gimme that ticket.
Blood poured out of my arms faster than ever before, a river of red floated alongside me as I gave him a grin.
"Good. Now, let's do this properly."
He let out a mix of a sigh and a laugh as both flames and ice began appearing on his left and right side.
"Hakari, you crazy bastard, it's almost like you want to lose."
I cracked my neck.
"Nah, it's because I want to win properly."
""What is this!? After a mid-fight break, Todoroki has started using his flames!? What is Hakari's plan!?""
Shoto's flames and ice grew to massive proportions now that he did not have to worry about backlash, and in response, I poured even more blood out of my body. The next exchange would probably decide everything.
'Flowing Red Scale... Stack!'
Blood rushed through my body even faster. I could feel my body strain, but I had regeneration to tank the damage. At the same time, Shoto created a massive iceberg and a wall of flames at once, aiming both towards me, the opposite ends combining to create a steam explosion alongside the heat and flames. I'd probably be either cooked or frozen by this.
BOOOM!!!!
The concrete under us wobbled as the teachers tried to intervene, but there was no need. The blood wrapped around me while still in its fluid form as I pushed myself forward, Iron Flesh running at full power as the blood turned a silver sheen. Now this alone would not be able to withstand the sheer cold and hot, but...
I felt nothing as I powered through the blast on all fours like an animal moving against the hurricane.
The Leidenfrost Effect.
Instead of using the blood as armor, I was letting the surface of the pool of blood wrapped around me evaporate and take the heat without letting it penetrate deeper and reach me, allowing me to brave through the superheated steam for a few seconds.
A few seconds were enough for me to reach him as I pulled my fist back and-
THUD!
"Cough!"
My fist slammed into his midsection and made him spit blood as he took the full force of a stacked Flowing Red Scale punch with Iron Flesh on top. He was flung away from the stadium like a rag doll before landing on his back on the grass.
At the same time, I let the blood around me fall down, my skin was singed from the blood boiling, and my veins and muscles hurt from the strain.
As the cloud of steam and evaporated blood around us lifted, Midnight and Cementoss stared at us both in shock. Instead of me coming out of that blast on a stretcher, I came out a victor.
""WHAT!?!?! UNBELIAVABLE! DESPITE THAT INCREDIBLE FIREPOWER, HAKARI KOTARO WINS!!!""
For a moment, the stadium was dead silent before cheers erupted louder than ever as I stood there. Well, I couldn't do anything but stand right now. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, I have discovered that straining your veins so hard while covered in boiling blood was quite painful.
But... there was a balm better than any other for this kind of pain.
Feat Achieved! Get Shoto Todoroki to use his flames
+1x Advantage Gold Skill Gacha Ticket
Feat Achieved! Defeat Shoto Todoroki while he uses his flames
+1x Diamond Ability Gacha Ticket
Oh yeah, totally worth it.
A/N: This fights was going to be a lot more difficult, very difficult... if Hakari did not pull fucking Super Regeneration. This damn Gacha is messing with on purpose. It is the absolute perfect addition to his kit and puts legitimacy in his name. Toganium is too strong, it needs a nerf.
Hakari gets Shoto to use those flames, that Leadership skill is really coming in clutch right now. Unlike Midoriya's on the spot therapy session, Hakari's was more like a slap to the cheek to make Shoto lock in. In end, Shoto lost, but Hakari is not doing too swell, and he has two more rounds ahead of him. What did you guys think about their fight? I'd love to know.
