Chapter 10 - WERE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME??

CHAPTER TEN: WERE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME??

As Nat left the kitchen, she thought about just going home. But seeing that the rain refused to stop, she just went back upstairs.

When she reached Christopher's room, she contemplated going inside. But suddenly, an idea to wonder around the house came to mind and she left his doorstep.

At first, she started with just looking around and counting all the rooms. But then she came in contact with a large double door room. Then she wondered "is this also another secret passage??"

Not wanting it to be just a thought, she decided to open the door.

"Oh my gosh! Another living room. I wonder what other secret hideout they have."

She then decided to look around the room which wasn't an easy feat to do as the room was dimly lit, with only a small chandelier in the middle illuminating blue rays of light.

She walked around the room using her hand to feel most of the things around her. Then she felt a strong gust of wind blow her and she looked around and said in her mind "has the rain stopped??"

Then she went to the balcony and leaned on the rails saying "at last the rain has stopped." She slowly inhaled the scent of the petrichor as her mind slowly drifted to what happened with Chrisler earlier. Not wanting to think more about it, she brushed the thought to the back of her mind and thought of Christopher instead. She thought of how close their faces were and how close she was to kissing him.

"Gosh Natalie, why did you have to close your eyes. Were you really going to let him kiss you?"

"Were you talking about me??" Christopher asks as he walks up to her.

Startled, Nat quickly turned around and saw him. Then she says

"No." in barely a whisper.

Christopher then chuckles lightly before Nat says

"Seriously Christopher, they need to give you a degree for startling people. I mean, this is the third time your doing this to me."

"Well, it's not my fault that your always in places I want to be, and I always end up startling you because your always afraid."

"Well, at least, you could give me a heads up like clearing your throat or lightly stumping your feet on the floor. That would have been better, than eavesdropping on my conversation and butting in at the last minute."

"I do whatever I want in my house and you can't tell me what to do." Christopher said.

"Well, curtsey demands you do so, especially since I'm a visitor." Nat said.

"But not my visitor." Christopher said giving her a sheepish smile.

"Enough with this." Nat said. And Christopher didn't bother to say anything again.

After a few minutes, Nat said

"Uhmm, I have a question. Can I ask you??"

Christopher briefly looked at her, before he said "you can. But I don't promise to answer you."

"Ohh.... Kay. Firstly, why are there so many hidden rooms in this house?" Nat asked.

"I assure you, you do not want to know." Christopher said putting his hands in his pants pocket while facing Natalie.

Natalie also turned to face him before she said "and why would I not want to know?"

"Because you're not ready for it." Christopher said, taking a step closer to her.

"Do I have to be ready to know the answer?" Nat asked.

"Yeah. Cause you wouldn't like the answer to that. And please, refrain from asking such questions that do not concern you. We don't want you being judgemental you know. And...." Before he could finish his sentence, some group of guys came in.
