She swung her car back toward Skyline Tech's headquarters. Once inside, she instructed her assistant to prepare a full roster of every secretary in the company.
A stack of profiles landed on her desk within the hour. Flipping through them, Alice's brows furrowed.
Vice President Sun's secretary was attractive, but her competence was only average—and worse, she was clearly tied too closely to Sun. Alice sighed. "The new boss wants a secretary, and I'm not sure we have anyone who fits the role. Hiring outside would take too long. From the way he said it, he wants someone in place fast."
The news of Skyline Tech's ownership hadn't been made public yet, but Olivia clearly knew. She smiled faintly."Then… what about me?"
Alice blinked. "You?"
Olivia nodded, pointing at herself. "Yes. Me."
Alice chuckled, half-scolding. "You're already a deputy GM with a bright future. Why on earth would you give that up just to be someone's secretary? You're aiming too low."
But Olivia's gaze was steady."I'm serious."
Alice studied her carefully. The determination in her eyes wasn't for show. After a long silence, she nodded slowly."Our new boss… he's not just wealthy. His background goes far beyond this company. If you serve directly as his secretary, you could easily rise higher than deputy GM. Maybe even higher than me."
Olivia's lips curved into a confident smile. "Exactly. That's why I want the position. I won't waste it."
Alice leaned back, impressed. "You're bold. Strong presence, high IQ, high EQ, polished experience—you really are a natural fit. But think carefully: once you become a secretary, there's no going back. The deputy GM spot won't be waiting for you."
"I understand," Olivia replied firmly. "I'll dedicate myself fully to being his right hand."
Later that evening, Jason was parked outside a bubble tea shop near the edge of the university district, sipping casually while scrolling through his phone.
The bell above the door chimed, and Olivia entered. Her stride was elegant, confident, her presence sharp enough to turn heads even in a crowd.
She walked straight to Jason's table, extended a hand with professional grace, and said crisply,"Hello, Mr. Jason. My name is Olivia Ward. It's an honor to serve as your secretary."
Jason raised his eyes from the screen, taking her in—her sharp suit, striking figure, and calm authority. He couldn't help but feel a flicker of surprise.
