Cherreads

Chapter 96 - 96

Downtown, Market – a trendy bubble tea shop.

Olivia sat quietly in the corner, laptop open, working while she waited. After a few minutes, a girl with flawless makeup walked in.

She had voluminous wavy hair, a fitted red dress that hugged her curves, high heels clicking against the floor, and a stylish felt newsboy cap.

Maybe her natural looks were just a bit over 8 out of 10, but with her fashion and presentation, she easily pushed that to an 8.6 or higher.

If any of the guys from the Boston College School of Fine Arts saw her, they'd recognize her instantly.

She was Samantha James, well-known among guys for her looks and equally famous among girls for her fashion and beauty content online.

"Hi, Ms. Olivia," Samantha greeted politely. She didn't take the meeting lightly. After all, she was just a small-time influencer—popular on campus but lacking serious traffic and income. Beauty, however, was expensive to maintain.

Now that Olivia had reached out to hire her as an image consultant for her mysterious boss, Samantha knew this was a rare chance.

If the consulting gig went well, she might land a stable income. If the boss liked her work, even just a little, it could launch her into real popularity.

Olivia smiled and nodded. "As expected of a beauty blogger, your makeup is flawless. But keep in mind, my boss is a man—his image requirements will be different."

Samantha nodded quickly. "I understand. For men, the key is looking clean, sharp, and confident. I've worked on men's styling too."

"Good." Olivia slid a tablet across the table. "My boss is too busy to come in person, but here's a video and a few photos. Tell me how you'd style him."

Samantha only needed one glance before her eyes widened. She had expected a middle-aged, balding executive. Instead—what appeared was a young, ridiculously handsome man, tall and athletic, with a natural presence.

A model's frame… and that face. A perfect canvas. She wanted to style him immediately, no matter the cost.

Samantha exclaimed, "Wait—this is really your boss?"

Olivia chuckled. "Of course. Do you think I'd be wasting your time otherwise?"

Samantha leaned forward. "Then… what's the budget?"

Olivia replied calmly, "watches are covered. Aside from that, his wardrobe budget is ten million dollars. Anything you suggest, we'll buy."

Samantha almost dropped her cup. ten million just for clothing? This was beyond luxury; it was unreal.

Still, part of her hesitated. Hearing was one thing, but seeing was believing.

Samantha James: Favorability +5

She quickly got serious, sketching out Jason's image styling—clothing, shoes, accessories, hairstyle.

With a budget like this, price tags didn't matter. She focused only on aesthetic impact.

Louis Vuitton. Hermès. Givenchy. Custom-tailored Tom Ford suits priced in the hundreds of thousands. Limited-edition sneakers that only a handful of collectors in the world owned. Handcrafted leather jackets from Paris.

Once the designs were finalized, Olivia approved everything without hesitation. In some cases, she ordered several sets at once.

Soon, the bubble tea shop was lined with assistants hauling in bag after bag, luxury logos stacked in neat rows.

Samantha was stunned. She had only ever seen scenes like this in TV dramas or celebrity news. Now she was standing in one.

This wasn't fake. This young, handsome boss was truly in another league.

Samantha James: Favorability +10

Later that afternoon, at a small private auction in New York.

The auctioneer raised the energy in the room:"It's not that America lacks luxury—it's just that most people can't afford it."

"Today's piece is a handmade couture gown from a New York atelier. Starting bid: $40,000."

After a few rounds of bidding, Olivia raised her paddle calmly. The final price landed at $100,000—sold to her.

The next lot was even more exclusive: a case of handwoven silk fabric from Italy. The starting bid was $200,000.

After heated bidding, the hammer fell at $400,000. Again, the winning bidder was Olivia.

At a private Manhattan auction house, the bidding atmosphere was intense.

One lot after another appeared on the stage: a golden phoenix crown crafted in the Gilded Age, a rare feather fan with jewel inlays…

Every item was swept up by Olivia, each purchase pushing the tally higher—over $3 million in total.

The photographers in the audience exchanged shocked glances. Soon, whispers spread: this woman was bidding not for herself, but on behalf of her mysterious employer— Jason.

In a quiet corner, two girls dressed in retro 1920s flapper-style outfits whispered to each other, unable to hide their astonishment.

"He basically bought all the top luxury items."

"Exactly. That vintage phoenix crown set alone is priceless… and he has a whole collection of rare fabrics too. Whoever marries this Jason guy will live a dream."

"The crazy thing is, he didn't even show up. His secretary is doing the bidding for him."

The women weren't just anyone—they were part of a niche historical culture club from NYU.

One of them stood out immediately. With delicate brows and bright, intelligent eyes, her elegance was undeniable. She was Ava, a well-known beauty at NYU's Art Department. At this moment, her heart stirred with curiosity and admiration toward this "Young Master Jason."

Later that day, at Columbia University's east side near a quiet alley, a sleek Rolls-Royce pulled up beside a pile of discarded crates.

Inside the car sat a woman of stunning beauty—her features so perfect they seemed sculpted, her skin luminous under the city lights.

Her eyes fell on a group of stray kittens huddled together. Two of them were sickly, eyes crusted shut, fur patchy, their tiny bodies weak.

She instinctively reached for the door, but her driver quickly locked it.

"Miss, your mother's orders—no contact with strays. These kittens look ill, and she doesn't want you at risk."

The young woman hesitated, torn. She leaned against the window, watching the kittens with worry written all over her face.

Just then, a few volunteers in gloves approached. They gently coaxed the kittens into carriers with toys and food.

The driver rolled down the window, curious. "Where are you taking them?"

"To the vet," one of the volunteers replied. "There's a man named Jason who donated tens of thousands to rescue strays across the entire campus district. We'll get them treated, then find them homes."

The young woman's expression softened into a smile. A spark of curiosity flickered inside her heart—who exactly was this Jason?

Oviasly it was done by Olivia.

Back in his penthouse, Jason heard the system notification echo in his mind. Favorability points had surged by nearly 400.

He immediately called Olivia. "That's enough for today—you've done very well. From now on, you're officially my full-time secretary."

The system displayed: Favorability total +399.

But before Jason could relax, another chime sounded:

Olivia: Favorability +5.

Jason smirked. Even his secretary's feelings for him had deepened just from his praise.

Still, with more than half a billion favorability points left to gather, this was just the beginning.
