On the eastern side.
The towering black structure loomed before them like an omen of death.
Up close, it felt even more oppressive.
The spiral tower stretched high into the gray sky, its surface dark and uneven, as if it had been twisted into existence rather than built. At its base stood a massive metal door.
Ancient runes were carved all over it. They glowed faintly in a deep crimson hue, pulsing like a heartbeat.
But the door remained tightly shut.
Amon stood at a distance, his sharp gaze fixed on it.
No one dared to step closer.
Ethan, looking slightly hesitant but curious, spoke while staring straight ahead.
"By the way… can I ask you something?"
Amon turned to him calmly. "What?"
The beastman boy looked at his friend with a thoughtful expression and asked,
"Well… I just had this thought… if all the monsters were sleeping underground… isn't it better to… kill them?"
Amon paused, his expression turning slightly serious. "We had thought about that before… but…"
