Chapter 12 - Old People Problems

The city skyline was ablaze; she never quite appreciated that. Didn't see the need to do so. Signing documents, she couldn't get her attention there, minutes passed by as the silent moon lurked and so did something else old age it wasn't that exactly it was the looming threat of death.

Her bones ached as if they had a hidden expiration date which she knew they were approaching, her wrist was the plaintiff today abuse it brought to the court the judge decided not to fight it she granted the wrist rest the problem she was left-handed and the wrist in question was her left one.

She obviously could not continue with her paperwork signing, next to her bundle of paperwork that nearly surpassed her upper torso in height she could only sigh.

"Nobody said being rich was easy much less being the richest." She muttered under her breath.

There was a conspicuous red button next to the bundle of papers, she pressed it in the next second a girl Chinese presumably came in she had beautiful green eyes a big scar on her neck.

The scar didn't do too much to her beauty for she was still a bombshell either way she seemed about twenty-five but Marrie could care less what was on her mind was something else entirely.

'Why did this kind of lady do bodyguard work.'

 "Where is Malcom?"

She bowed at her at a slight 90-degree angle.

"His wife is delivering and the security department placed me here in his stead." The girl answered quite fluently in fact Marrie thought it wrong. Body guards don't usually have that aristocratic tone she hated but this one did.

 "So what's your name?"

"Madam that isn't important your car detail is awaiting your grace."

The next thing she knew she was in an elevator with the same mysterious Chinese girl, she was on her phone the girl was anxious looking up and down as if the walls of the elevator were going to disappear.

"Madam. I heard something about the company heir, Is he really awake?" The girl asked Marrie stared at her very few people were supposed to know about that and this girl was definitely not one of them.

She knew this girl was trouble from the accent she had tried texting Leo her head of security but for some peculiar reason no message was sent, now she felt like jumping out of the elevator.

She pressed a button for the next floor the girl grabbed her by her shirt afterwards it.

"How much do you intend to get from kidnapping me?"

"Nothing much just info, tell me about Allan and that Asian girl you are taking care of."

"Promise me you won't hurt them."

"Sure, but do you really think I'd go through all this trouble just to hurt them if I wanted to do so I would have just joined the home detail not the work detail." The girl calmly told her running hands through Marrie's silver locks.

"What do you want to know?" Marrie said pouting despite her old age

"Stage of recovery, Emotional and Mental state and current or past partners."

"Advanced motor capabilities adult emotional level and a fairly good mental state I do not know about Cassodie but Allan didn't have one permanent partner during his late teens he had run through 72 girls. As for now they seem not to have any partners."

 "72 you sure?"

"Yes, I have people hired to gather his data so, I'm sure."

"Interesting. Thank you, madam, have a nice time and as you're reward I'll slightly tweak a thing or two about your end time."

Black sparks came from her body Marrie shuddered the girl touched her shoulder a holographic projection appeared from Marrie's head the things written were in gibberish. She did something with the figures and the black flashes stopped.

Her smile was content Marrie was out unconscious but her silver hair had turned a fiery red. As the girl turned back at her she smiled as she walked out of the elevator.

"Don't die before that happens."

She faded into the night. Marrie woke up in the backseat of her car a muscular black man on the wheels. She was dazed and surprisingly youthful. She didn't wake up with her usual aches, she appreciated that.

"Curtis where did that Chinese girl go off to?"

"Madam I am not familiar with that girl you are referring to. All I know is that you came to the car and told me to drive."

Marrie stared at him until she caught her reflection in the driver's mirror she was a full twenty years younger in her forties, she screamed Curtis ignored her he didn't see anything different with her.

After a back and forth with Curtis, Marrie thought she was going insane, at the manor everyone reacted the same, no surprise no nothing.

When she was about to crash she called Esmeralda, Esmeralda was startled, the first normal reaction she got.

"Did you dye your hair Madam?"

"Hell no in fact it's not the hair It's everything I feel younger stronger and confused."

"They do say a small change makes a big difference." Esmeralda said half-heartedly, she could tell she was younger not just superficially.

"Call Allan over hopefully he notices this."

Esmeralda went to find Allan and Cassodie by involvement. She had come to know that they could not exist separately.

Allan was fighting no training with Cassodie, they were surrounded by sand. He glowed azure the sand moved as if alive ensnarled Cassodie in a whirlpool it then proceeded to catch her in a pyramid-like structure. A pulse wave emerged the sand turned a metallic silver.

Cassodie turned golden squirmed a bit broke out of the trap sending the metallic pieces flying Allan's powers caught them midair Cassodie rushed at him, he sent the broken pieces in her path forcing her to dodge.

She was an expert at this field as she was just close enough to touch him, she suddenly slowed down a metallic block hit her straight into her face. She tanked it a golden hue followed she broke something substantial.

A punch straight to Allan's face followed he was sent flying back, as he was seemingly gone a metal block hit Cassodie straight on the jaws in a deathly uppercut, she was also sent back.

"STOP WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU ARE DOING!!!!"

They noticed her existence, they stopped they came to her sweaty and smelly yet she could not keep her eyes away from Allan's changing upper body it was almost becoming an inverted triangle, still it was a quick glance.

"Why did you call us?"

"Your mother is looking for you."

"I'll be there after a shower."

Esmeralda waited by his door. Cassodie next to her, the pull kept her close even though she could care less.

"Was that painful back there?"

"Yeah."

 "Was it fun?"

"Probably but I think I'm violence prone you should ask the other one. Wait are you interested?"

"Me I'm not close to being that strong."

 "Too bad."

Allan came out they all went saw Marrie they were still shocked, why and how did she look so young. The look did make Marrie feel better still it made her suspicious.

"Mom did you dye your hair?" Allan asked walking into her room. Cassodie's eyes glowed golden her entire body erupted in golden flames.

Allan and Esmeralda were curious the calm came from the fact that mana-less individuals could not perceive the magical. They thought Marrie was oblivious but she was trembling staring at Cassodie as if staring at a death god.

The air pushed everything that was not Marrie to the wall it kept them there. Cassodie still glowing like a blazing sun walked to Marrie who honestly tried moving trembling and begging Cassodie to stop.

The scared look in her eyes stirred something in his heart a passion and an affinity for justice. He struggled coating his body in the same azure energy.

'Bernoulli once suggested that the faster the air the lower it's pressure and what Cassodie did was forcefully slowed down the air particles in the room using strength causing the pressure of the room to jump since there was a layer of unaffected air on their bodies the pressure pushed them to the wall. Simply reversing the occurrence, I could move. It was of the Cherubim class spell Domain of the Air God.'

Activating the same spell, he pushed Cassodie out of Marrie's path. She flew out of the window. Allan looked at the dazed Esmeralda and scared Marrie.

"Es take my mom and go to that haunted lab Cassodie isn't done yet and I don't want my mom hurt."

Esmeralda quickly did as expected she ran to Marrie threw her onto her back and ran through the manor. Marrie still looked confused and petrified.

Esmeralda didn't quite know what to make of this situation from a calm evening to running away from Cassodie. Still, she ran as if tomorrow wasn't guaranteed, sure she liked Cassodie but Marrie was her cash cow.

Meanwhile Allan jumped out of the window glass shards ensnarled around his fist making direct contact with the dazed Cassodie who was preparing to jump back into the window.

Although the punch connected Cassodie's flames burnt the glass shards connecting a punch to Allan's stomach. Sending him flying, he hit the air which under the influence of the cherubim class spell domain of the air god became solid.

Cassodie ran up to him connecting a kick to his jaw, picking him up by his neck throwing him high in the air before connecting a punch to his face.

He bled a bit but she continued still in a trance, within a moment Allan was bloodied. He still flickered azure

"Pussy ass bitch you wanna kill my mom because yours died."

Cassodie turned more enraged her aura fully transferred to her hands one punch dislocated his jaw put her hands inside his mouth pulled his jaw down tearing his jaw from the top, about to dismember it she suddenly threw up blood each of her joints pierced by earth made stakes.

She fell down groaning like an idiot looking at Allan with a murderous gaze.

'You are lucky I can't kill you even God wouldn't have saved you then.'

He thought looking at the immobile Cassodie.

'How long till this heals system?'

 Two weeks

 'What about her?'

 Two weeks

 'Equal damage huh?'

He took her carrying her like a sack slumping her over his shoulder proceeding to dash away to that lab. Inside the lab Esmeralda was having a hard time trying to calm the hysterical Marrie who firmly believed she was running mad due to age.

"So, you are telling me there is a whole other magical world out there."

"Yes now there must have been something that happened to you so that you suddenly got younger or now you can see the magical. Do you have a talent?"

 "Plenty."

 "I mean magical ones."

 "Huh?"

Allan rushed in causing the two to instinctively run to the wall. Allan threw Cassodie to the table and also himself.

Marrie seeing her son and daughter in that state was horrified from strangers to mortal enemies. She unconsciously tried getting to the two.

"Stop, he doesn't want you to go closer?"

"How the fuck can you even hear him?"

"I'm picking up the voice box vibrations and assessing the intended words from the process of elimination to form the most probable sentence structure."

"Okay." She didn't get jack shit fear and anxiety destroyed her logic-based brain functions.

The two were patched up to Esmeralda's best capabilities. Marrie just watched anxious blaming herself for this misfortune. The creepy room didn't even matter to her until the picture of her mother came into view.

Guilt upon guilt came into a single response crying, she cried like a baby fearing she would lose everything again like when she was a kid and it would all be her fault this time.
