Chapter 172 - CHAPTER 172

Moon Over Las Noches

Through the Garganta's black fissure, the group stepped into an endless expanse of white.

A cold wind swept across the sands.

Above them, a pitch-black sky stretched infinitely, pierced only by a massive, unmoving moon that bathed the world in pale, sterile light.

They had arrived in Hueco Mundo.

Soi Fon stood still for a moment, surveying the desolation. The white desert reflected the moonlight like bone dust. The silence was oppressive heavy with dormant malice.

"So this is Hueco Mundo…"

Even for a captain, the atmosphere felt wrong. Reishi density was higher than in the Human World, but corrupted, unstable, tinged with Hollow residue.

In the distance, a colossal white structure rose from the sands like a monument to emptiness.

Yoruichi narrowed her eyes.

"That's Las Noches."

The vast dome and towering spires pierced the sky. Its size distorted perspective; what appeared close could take hours to reach.

Renji let out a low whistle.

"So Renya's holed up in that thing? Tch… he always did have a flair for dramatic locations."

"Enough talking," Soi Fon said sharply. "We move."

They advanced at high speed across the sand, using Shunpo and Flash Step in staggered bursts to conserve spiritual pressure. Unlike Ichigo's first reckless charge into Hueco Mundo, this approach was measured.

They reached Las Noches in just over an hour.

Standing before its outer wall, Ichigo placed a hand against it.

"Feels solid… dense reishi construction."

"Of course it is," Soi Fon replied. "This fortress withstood Captain-level battles."

Kira frowned. "So how do we enter?"

Soi Fon stepped forward.

"We don't."

Blue Reiatsu flared around her fist.

"Shunkō."

Lightning crackled as she drove her arm forward.

The explosion tore through the white wall, blasting a tunnel straight into the interior corridor. Reishi fragments scattered like shattered porcelain.

Ichigo blinked.

"Just like that…"

Even he would have needed a Getsuga Tenshō to achieve that scale of penetration.

Soi Fon didn't answer. She walked through the dust cloud without hesitation.

They entered a vast interior chamber.

Three corridors extended forward.

Lisa adjusted her glasses.

"Classic Las Noches layout. Split approach?"

Yoruichi nodded. "All paths converge toward the central palace. We divide."

Soi Fon spoke first.

"I'll take the left corridor. Renji. Rukia."

Renji grinned. "Got it."

Rukia nodded silently.

Ichigo stepped forward. "Then I'll go center."

"With me," said Shiba Kaien, calm and steady. "Kira, you as well."

Kira swallowed. "Understood."

Yoruichi stretched lazily.

"Then Lisa, Orihime, you're with me."

They separated without further hesitation.

Left Corridor

Soi Fon, Renji, and Rukia advanced through the long white hallway.

Renji spoke first.

"Think we'll be the first to find Renya?"

Rukia kept her gaze forward.

"I hope so."

There was history there

shared battles, shared silence. If anyone could reach him without blades drawn, it would be them.

They exited into a vast chamber

and stopped.

Two figures stood waiting.

A tall, sharp-featured man in a tailored coat. Beside him, a dark-skinned woman in fitted combat attire, relaxed but alert.

Soi Fon narrowed her eyes.

"Arrancar."

The man bowed slightly.

"We serve Kurotsuki Renya."

Renji's grip tightened on Zabimaru.

"You're not Espada."

"No," the woman said coolly. "But we don't need to be."

Soi Fon stepped forward, killing intent pressing outward.

"If you serve him, stand aside."

The man met her gaze calmly.

"You may pass. Our orders are to delay, not to kill."

Renji muttered, "Sounds like a trap."

"Of course it is," Soi Fon said.

She vanished in a Shunpo burst, leaving Renji and Rukia behind.

The woman stepped forward instantly to intercept Renji.

"I'll take the redhead."

Renji snorted. "Heh. Don't complain if I don't hold back."

She blurred Sonído snapping like a whip.

Her kick collided with Renji's guard, shockwaves splintering the walls.

Renji slid back but smiled.

"Not bad."

Across the chamber, Rukia drew Sode no Shirayuki.

The male Arrancar raised his hand.

Reishi constructs formed midair rotating blades of compressed spiritual particles.

Rukia's eyes sharpened.

"Dance."

Center Corridor

Kaien led Ichigo and Kira into the grand hall.

Three presences waited.

Ichigo's Reiatsu flared instantly.

"…Grimmjow."

Leaning against a pillar was Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, blue hair wild, grin feral.

"You're late, substitute."

Beside him stood Tier Harribel, calm and composed, and a third Arrancar whose spiritual pressure rivaled lieutenant-class levels.

Harribel spoke evenly.

"Grimmjow. Kurosaki Ichigo is yours."

"Tch. Like I'd let anyone else have him."

Her golden eyes shifted to Kaien.

"I will handle you."

Kaien smiled faintly.

"An Espada personally? I'm honored."

Kira felt the weight of their combined Reiatsu pressing down like ocean depth.

This was no ordinary clash.

Right Corridor

Yoruichi, Lisa, and Orihime stepped into their chamber.

Three figures waited.

Front and center stood Kūgo Ginjō, arms crossed, expression lazy.

To his right

Ulquiorra Cifer.

To his left

Shūkurō Tsukishima.

Lisa exhaled slowly.

"…That's a lineup."

Ginjō smirked.

"Surrender. Saves everyone trouble."

Lisa scoffed.

"Not happening."

Ginjō shrugged.

"Renya only sent us because we can capture you without killing you."

Yoruichi's eyes sharpened.

He believed that.

That meant Renya believed it.

Ginjō suddenly tossed something forward.

A folded black garment.

"For you."

Yoruichi caught it midair.

She raised a brow.

"…He remembered?"

She slipped into it.

Her child-form dissolved in a shimmer of transformation.

Standing there now was Yoruichi Shihōin in a fitted black combat uniform

perfectly tailored for high-mobility hand-to-hand combat.

She flexed her fingers.

"…He planned this."

Ulquiorra's emotionless gaze never wavered.

"Preparation is logical."

Yoruichi smiled faintly.

"Then let's test that logic."

Her Reiatsu erupted. controlled, precise, lethal.

Across Las Noches, spiritual pressures ignited one after another.

The moon above Hueco Mundo remained silent.

War had begun.
