Grimmjow vs. Ichigo - The Breaking Limit
Mid-air, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Ichigo Kurosaki collided once more before crashing to the fractured floor below.
Blood followed them down.
A spray erupted from Grimmjow's right shoulder.
A deep tear opened along Ichigo's left abdomen.
Grimmjow straightened slowly, rolling his arm.
"If that's all," he said evenly, "I'll finish you next."
Ichigo wiped blood from his mouth.
"Then I'll stop holding back."
He raised his left hand and dragged his fingers across his face.
Bone spread outward.
The Hollow mask sealed into place.
Instantly, his Reiatsu detonated upward, dark, violent, layered with Hollow resonance.
Grimmjow's grin widened ferally.
"That's it."
He lifted his blade.
"Grind… Pantera."
Blue light exploded around him. His Zanpakutō dissolved into spirit particles as white bone armor formed across his torso. Claws extended from his hands, and a sleek tail of condensed reishi lashed behind him.
His Resurrección was complete.
They vanished simultaneously.
Steel met claw mid-air.
Shockwaves tore through the ruined hall. Sonído and Shunpo overlapped in rapid succession, neither giving ground.
A dozen strikes.
Twenty.
Thirty.
Ichigo's blade carved across Grimmjow's chest
Grimmjow's claws raked across Ichigo's ribs
Blood fell like rain.
Grimmjow laughed aloud.
"Yes! That's a fight!"
But time betrayed Ichigo.
A sharp crack echoed.
The Hollow mask fractured along its right side.
Grimmjow saw it.
"Your time's almost up."
He pressed harder, forcing Ichigo backward.
Yet Ichigo's Reiatsu compressed instead of fading. He planted his feet and swung.
"Getsuga… Tenshō!"
A crescent of black spiritual pressure surged forward, swallowing the corridor in darkness.
Grimmjow crossed both claws.
The impact shattered the entire hall.
The artificial ceiling of Las Noches ruptured, exposing the false moonlit sky.
Stone disintegrated.
Moonlight poured down.
The Getsuga broke through Grimmjow's guard and carved a deep line across his chest, launching him backward across the ruins.
He rose slowly, blood trailing down his armor.
"You think that wins?"
He vanished.
Ichigo tensed
Too slow.
Five lines of blood erupted from his back.
Grimmjow stood behind him, claws extended.
"Speed difference."
Ichigo staggered.
His Hollow mask shattered completely.
Without its reinforcement, his Reiatsu destabilized.
He collapsed forward onto broken stone.
An Arrancar operative Perez appeared instantly and lifted him over his shoulder.
"Objective secured."
Grimmjow sealed Pantera, returning to base form.
"Move."
The Sea Descends
Before they could fully withdraw
The sky above Las Noches split open.
A roar followed.
An ocean descended from the heavens.
Water flooded the broken palace, sweeping through corridors and over shattered marble.
Grimmjow clicked his tongue.
"She's expanding her field."
Standing upon the rising waters was Tier Harribel, fully released in Tiburón.
Fin-like structures extended from her arms. Mask fragments framed her face. The water responded to her Reiatsu as if alive.
Beside her, suspended within controlled currents, floated Kaien Shiba.
With a subtle motion of her hand, the ocean calmed and withdrew.
Her Fracción Mila Rose, Apache, and Sung-Sun arrived beside her.
"Withdraw," Harribel commanded.
They departed immediately.
Lisa vs. Ulquiorra
Elsewhere
"Twenty-One Drops."
Lisa Yadōmaru descended, oversized blade crashing toward Ulquiorra Cifer.
Ulquiorra raised one hand.
He caught it effortlessly.
With a flick of his wrist, he hurled her into the far wall.
Stone exploded.
Smoke rose.
From within it
Lisa emerged again, Hollow mask formed, Reiatsu sharpened to captain-class intensity.
She struck.
This time
Blood appeared along Ulquiorra's forearm.
He regarded it mildly.
"Vizard augmentation."
Lisa vanished with high-speed movement.
She reappeared behind him.
"Thousand-Piece Sever."
Multiple cuts landed across his torso
but in the same instant
A black blur passed behind her.
Blood sprayed across Lisa's back.
She collapsed.
Ulquiorra stood untouched, regeneration already restoring the shallow wounds.
His expression did not change.
Yoruichi vs. Ginjō
Not far away stood Yoruichi Shihōin, facing Kūgo Ginjō and Shūkurō Tsukishima.
She assessed calmly.
Lisa had fallen.
Ichigo's Reiatsu had collapsed.
Renji and Rukia were absent.
She exhaled.
"Then I'll handle this."
Lightning burst around her body.
"Shunkō."
Reiatsu condensed around her arms and shoulders, thunder crackling violently.
Ginjō activated his Fullbring, black-and-white armor forming across his frame.
He moved first.
Their collision shattered the ground.
Yoruichi's speed exceeded his Shunpo chaining seamlessly into a palm strike enhanced by Shunkō.
The impact drove him back.
But Ginjō steadied, absorbing part of the electrical output through reinforced reishi flow.
He countered with a heavy downward slash.
The shock disrupted Yoruichi's footing momentarily.
That single opening
Was enough.
He appeared before her and drove a reinforced strike into her abdomen.
Her Shunkō dispersed in a burst of light.
Yoruichi fell to one knee
Then collapsed forward, unconscious.
Ginjō let his Fullbring recede.
"Secured."
He lifted her over his shoulder.
Tsukishima glanced toward the receding floodwaters.
"Retreat."
They withdrew.
Observation
Deep within a hidden monitoring chamber, Mayuri Kurotsuchi observed the battlefield through modified surveillance constructs.
His painted smile thinned.
"Ichigo Kurosaki incapacitated… Yoruichi Shihōin subdued… Ulquiorra remains stable…"
His gaze sharpened when he saw Harribel.
"And Kaien Shiba… present in Hueco Mundo."
Interesting.
Very interesting.
He adjusted his instruments.
Las Noches stood fractured beneath artificial moonlight.
Floodwaters receded.
Reiatsu faded across the battlefield.
And within the innermost chamber
Kurotsuki Renya remained seated in silence.
All variables had moved as anticipated.
But the decisive confrontation
Had yet to begin.
