"Seriously? Damn, you wizards got something for everything huh?" Jackie asked impressed.
I shrug "For most things. Our version of magic is incredibly versatile." I say casually.
"Okay, suppose I finally believe all of this. Why my daughter?" Taiyang asked once he came to terms with his new understanding of reality.
"I don't get a choice who the contact is, nor when I connect with them. I don't even get to choose which worlds I connect to. It's all random. I just try to make the most of each or cut the connection if I feel theres nothing I want there." I explained frankly.
"So it was just luck of the draw?" he asked speechlessly and I nod with a helpless shrug.
"Personally I would have preferred to connect with someone older and with access to more things but here we are." I said honestly.
"You said you cut the connection if you feel like there is nothing you want. You haven't." he stated but the question was implied.
"Oh your world has several things that would be of great interest to others across the multiverse. Technology, aura, magic and Grimm mostly." I said seriously.
"People would actually WANT Grimm!?" Ruby exclaimed in shock.
"Of course, to you they are nothing but monsters that can't be controlled or erased. To many outside your world however they are worth study or use in other ways. You don't know what Grimm actually are but they hold secrets that many would drop everything for the merest chance at unlocking." I say seriously.
"You didn't mention Dust." Taiyang pointed out.
"That's because the stuff become inert once it leaves your world. It's just pretty sand once you remove it from Remnant." I say with a shrug.
"How do you know so much about Remnant if you aren't from it?" he asked skeptically.
"I know about a great many worlds. The important bits anyways." I say calmly.
"One more question. How does all this work?" he asked and I chuckled.
"Through the system of course. So long as one can claim ownership of something it can be traded through the system. There are a few exceptions however. Mostly that you can't trade something that is an integral part of someone. Like you couldn't trade injuries, limbs or souls while they still lived and were attached. There was a bit of gray area when it came to things that aren't considered an integral part of a races being across the multiverse. For example If a race had superhuman abilities as a default state of their being then you couldn't trade those." I pause before continuing.
"Then of course are matters concerning shared ownership. This includes things like worlds or buildings. If you can outright say that it belongs solely to you then there's no problems. However if you can't and share it with others then the trade is not possible without the agreement of everyone with a stake in the matter. The ownership of people and their assets also fall into this category though the rules there are based on the law of conquest, everything the defeated has belongs to the victor." I explain seriously.
"You trade slaves!?" Ruby said horrified.
"Of course not. I allocate for temporary ownership to seize assets before the subjects are released or dealt with based on the sellers whim. Take Whitebeard here. He captures people, trades the stuff I want that they have before booting them back to the wild, free and clear with almost no lasting issues. I COULD trade people like slaves if I wanted to however." I clarified.
"What are the lasting issues?" Taiyang asked seriously.
"Mostly that one of the powers they relied on to be more than the average person is gone now. His world has special fruits that give abilities based off which sort you eat. As the fruits aren't innate to the race of these people they can be stripped from them leaving them without these powers. Otherwise they are just as fine as they were before if a bit disoriented and lost from wherever he drops them off." I said calmly.
"Fruits that give powers? Like telekinesis?" Ruby asked with big intrigued eyes.
"That is possible but you are thinking too small. There are fruits like allow the eater to become, create and control elements or materials. I have one of those." I say as I elementalize my hand before returning it to normal.
"Then there are the ones that allow you to turn into some form of animal." I said and Marco shifted into his phoenix form to back up my claim.
"Finally you have the fruits that all have a gimmick that can be anything from turning you into a jacket to creating quakes. Whitebeard has the quake fruit by the way." I say and the old man presses a finger into the air that cracks a few minor spatial cracks.
"So like semblances but not?" she asked and I nod.
"An apt comparison. Yes it's very similar to semblances in that they are only present in a single person at a time. You can also, with only one known exception, only have one fruit power at a time. Eat another fruit and you die." I say calmly.
