Grabbing that tentacle, Saitama swung the gigantic monster through the air like a hammer throw, spinning it nearly half a circle and drawing a perfect arc—then he let go.
The massive tentacle creature flew away. After crossing a long distance, it hit the ocean with a deafening "SPLASH," like a discarded rag doll, crashing back into the deep sea far from the platform.
The waves it kicked up were over ten meters high. It was like a sudden downpour, drenching everyone on the drilling platform to the bone.
The ocean surface quickly returned to calm, as if that terrifying monster had never existed at all.
Saitama wiped the seawater off his face, shook his head, then looked at the platform supervisor standing there like a wooden statue. In his usual flat tone, he confirmed:
"Done?"
The supervisor's mouth hung open. He couldn't force out a single sound, only nodding desperately.
S.H.I.E.L.D.'s trouble always seemed to come one after another.
This time, it was Romania in Eastern Europe.
The files Fury sent showed that a ruined ancient castle deep in the Carpathian Mountains had recently begun emitting abnormal energy readings. Soon after, villagers in the surrounding area started vanishing one after another. The bodies that were eventually found all showed the same trait—their blood had been completely drained.
According to local legends, the sleeping vampire prince seemed to have awakened.
Because the case involved supernatural forces, the Avengers dispatched members with rich "non-science-side" experience—Captain America and Scarlet Witch. Along with Saitama and Genos, they formed a temporary squad and headed out to investigate.
By the time the aircraft arrived at the castle, it was dusk.
The gloomy fortress stood on a barren mountaintop, shrouded in blood-red sunset light and heavy fog. Swarms of black bats wheeled between the towers, screeching sharply. The air was thick with rot—and a faint, lingering scent of blood.
"Everyone stay alert," Captain America said, tightening his grip on his vibranium shield while scanning the surroundings. "According to records, vampires have extreme speed, tremendous strength, and hypnotic abilities."
Wanda's hands were already wrapped in red chaos magic. "I can feel a powerful dark energy deep inside the castle."
Genos switched to scan mode. "Detecting a high concentration of unknown life signals. Energy readings are unstable."
Only Saitama had both hands in his pockets. He tilted his head up at the tallest spire and yawned. "Looks pretty old. Can people even live in there?"
The group cautiously entered the great hall. Inside, cobwebs filled the corners and dust lay thick on every surface.
Suddenly, all the bats swarmed toward the center of the hall as if answering a call. They spun, condensed, and merged—finally transforming into an elegant man floating in midair. He wore an ancient crimson cloak, his face pale as paper, but his lips were red as fresh blood. His eyes glowed scarlet, and his fingers ended in blade-sharp nails.
It was the legendary vampire lord.
"Mortals… you dare disturb Count Dracula's long slumber…" His voice carried an eerie magnetism, meant to ensnare the mind. "To become my bloodkin is your greatest"
"Whoosh!"
Before he could finish, Captain America hurled his shield. It spun with a piercing howl as it smashed toward the vampire.
The vampire lord's body blurred. He dodged easily, moving so fast only a red afterimage remained. In the next instant he appeared at Wanda's side, claws striking—only to be blocked by a layer of red magical shielding.
"Interesting magic… but it's not enough," the lord sneered. His figure vanished again, attacking from another angle.
Genos's Incineration Cannons roared, blasting the spot where he had been—shattering only a stone pillar.
