The smell of disinfectant filled my nostrils.
My eyelashes fluttered slowly and the white lights blurred above my sight. I squinted a bit and then looked around with just my eyes.
For a moment, I didn't know where I was. I couldn't make heads because everything was hazy; my thoughts, my memory, even the sense of time.
The last thing I could vaguely recall was the accident.
Was I dead?
No… the steady beeping beside me said otherwise. I was in a hospital, that was sure.
I tried to move my arm, but it felt heavy, like it had restraints but that didn't mean I had lost sensations on my arm.
I could move my fingers, at least.
This condition was probably because my brain wasn't fully awake yet. I just need to rest a bit and the sensation will come back to me.
My throat burned and I breathed gently, my breath fogging the oxygen mask placed over my nose and mouth.
When I swallowed, my throat and chest burned. And the moment I breathed too deeply, a dull ache spread through my chest.
