In the blink of an eye, the Grand Priestess brought the brothers back to the princess's room.
The moment they saw Temat, all three men stopped and stared at one another.
"Are you the Ken that little rat was talking about?" Larte and Larde asked in unison.
"And are one of you the Ken Goku and Vegeta mentioned?" Temat asked at the exact same time.
All three froze.
Clearly, none of them was Ken.
They turned together toward the Grand Priestess.
"To put it simply, there are seven of you," she said calmly. "Ken is your brother."
Larte's eyes widened.
Larde looked completely stunned.
Temat was no better.
Seven?
So they had four more brothers out there somewhere?
"I'll take you to meet Ken later," the Grand Priestess said. "For now, that isn't urgent."
None of the three knew how to respond.
"Do they have the same transformation I do?" Temat asked.
"No," the Grand Priestess answered, shaking her head. "They're from Universe 4."
"That's strange," Temat said. "Why would brothers like us be scattered across different universes?"
"When you were first born, you were distributed among the universes," she answered simply.
"Distributed?" Temat repeated, confused.
"To be more precise, a god placed each of you in a different universe," she said. "At the moment, your other brothers are in Universe 11, Universe 7, Universe 10, and Universe 3."
"Should we bring them here too?" Temat asked.
"Not yet. There's no need to rush. They'll appear in time," the Grand Priestess said, her eyes cold and unreadable.
"Then forget that for now," Temat said, suddenly grinning. "I'm more interested in seeing how strong the two of you are. Want to spar?"
"No interest," Larte said.
"Sure," Larde answered immediately.
"Go to the empty land over there," the Grand Priestess said, pointing into the distance. Then she added, "You're brothers. Spar if you like, but no one is to die."
"Got it."
The three of them quickly left the palace and landed in a deserted area far away.
Light burst from Larde's body. He entered his rose-colored form, though this time his hair did not grow long.
Temat raised an eyebrow. "So your hair changes to that color?"
Larte said nothing.
A brilliant light then exploded from Temat's body too. His hair rose sharply, but its color did not change.
"You didn't transform?" Larde asked.
"No," Temat answered with a nod.
Neither of them wasted another word. They charged each other and started trading fierce blows.
Larte stood off to the side and watched.
After several exchanges, the two were still perfectly even.
"Next I'll show you my strongest transformation," Larde said with a grin. Rose light blazed more brightly around him, and his hair rapidly lengthened until it dropped past his waist.
"Then I'll use my final transformation too," Temat said. "But fair warning—it's very easy for me to lose control in that state. If that happens, both of you should run straight back to the Grand Priestess."
"You say that like you're stronger than us," Larde snorted.
Purple light exploded from Temat's body. Pink lightning crackled around him, and when the light cleared, his hair had turned silver-white.
The Larte brothers were both slightly taken aback.
They had not expected his final form to look that strange.
"Now this is interesting," Larde said, smiling as he rushed in.
The two of them clashed fiercely across the deserted land.
After several more rounds, both men fell back and opened some distance again.
"Let's leave it there for now," Temat said, raising a hand to stop Larde before he charged again.
Larde halted.
"If we keep going, I'll probably lose control," Temat explained, quickly returning to normal.
"Then without you going berserk, the gap between the three of us isn't that big," Larde said after thinking it through.
Larte turned to Temat. "That woman said there are seven of us. Do you remember anything from when you were little?"
"Not clearly," Temat said. "I'm the prince of this planet. When I was very young, a bad man abducted me and took me off-world. I lost my memory after that. A year ago, the princess—well, the Grand Priestess—found me and brought me back to Planet Sadala. That's the whole story. What about you two?"
Larde answered for both of them. "We grew up on a planet called Larfa. We were born unusually strong, and by the time we turned twenty, we had already conquered the whole planet and become its rulers. Then, about a year ago, both of us awakened a strange transformation at the same time."
Temat looked at Larte. "And what about your form?"
"It's roughly the same as his," Larte replied, "just dark green instead of rose."
"That really is unusual," Temat said. "A few hours ago, I ran into two Saiyans whose transformations had different colors again."
Then he told them about meeting Goku and Vegeta.
The brothers listened in stunned silence.
"So what does the Grand Priestess want with us?" Larte asked.
"She said she wants to train us properly and turn us into the strongest gods," Temat answered.
...
Grand Prison of Sadala.
Raditz obediently returned to his cell.
"No one has ever escaped the Grand Prison of Sadala before!"
"And even if they somehow did, they'd still have to come crawling back!"
"You like pulling disappearing acts, don't you? Why not try another one for us?"
"If it weren't for His Highness, the Grand Prison's thousand-year reputation would've been ruined because of you!"
The two guards grew angrier the more they talked. Then they stepped forward and started kicking and punching Raditz without restraint.
Raditz howled and covered his head, not daring to fight back.
Kakarot, you idiot.
If you couldn't save me, why take me out at all?
You've really screwed me over.
...
In the desert, Caulifla stood in front of Renso, scratching her head and grinning wide.
"So you've really been living here all these years?" Renso asked softly with a sigh.
"What, brother? You worried about me?" Caulifla laughed and slapped him on the shoulder. "Relax. I'm the boss here. Everyone listens to me."
"I've been looking for you all this time," Renso said. "I just never imagined I'd find you here."
"What kind of face is that? You're acting like I died," Caulifla snorted.
Renso had nothing to say.
"All right, enough with the gloomy mood," Caulifla said. "I'm not going back with you. I like living here with these guys."
Renso thought it over, then nodded in the end. "Fine. Just come home and visit sometime."
"The whole reason I left was because I hated the atmosphere back home," Caulifla said, shaking her head. "So no, I'm not going back."
Again, Renso had no good answer.
"Take care of yourself," he said at last.
"If you want me to take care of myself, then give me supplies," Caulifla said with a grin. "Hand over your gear."
Renso: "..."
Ten minutes later, Renso, his two men, Cabba, and Lusen had all been stripped of their equipment.
The Saiyans of Universe 6 used storage boxes for everyday supplies and tools.
Caulifla's gang left them the empty boxes and took everything inside.
"Hey, I'm not even part of the Sadala Defense Force," Lusen complained miserably. "Why am I losing my stuff too?"
"Less talking," one of Caulifla's underlings snapped.
Lusen looked like he was about to cry.
"Your share will be replaced once we get back," Renso said darkly, clearly unimpressed.
You couldn't even hand over your supplies properly.
And if you had done it cleanly, maybe I would have considered letting you into the Sadala Defense Force.
With that kind of petty attitude, not a chance.
"Thank you," Lusen said immediately.
Caulifla turned to Cabba, a little surprised, and smiled. "You're pretty young, but you don't look weak."
Cabba scratched his head awkwardly.
Who are you calling little?
We can't be that far apart in age.
"Let's fight," Caulifla said suddenly, her interest clearly piqued.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Cabba said, shaking his head. "You're Renso's sister..."
"What, you planning to go easy on me?" Caulifla asked with a snort.
"No, that's not what I meant," Cabba said, going red and waving both hands.
"Cabba," Renso said after a brief pause, "spar with Caulifla a little. Let her understand that there's always someone stronger out there."
Truthfully, he had wanted Cabba to teach his sister a lesson.
She was too arrogant, and sooner or later she would suffer for it.
"Yes," Cabba said seriously.
"Come on. I haven't had a real workout in a while," Caulifla said, power surging from her body.
The moment Cabba felt her ki, his expression grew much more serious.
Without underestimating her in the slightest, he released his own ki at once.
"Not bad, kid. That's a solid amount of power," Caulifla said with a laugh, instantly rushing him.
Cabba dropped into a battle stance.
The moment she got in front of him, her body blurred.
In the next instant, she was already behind him.
Then she chopped down with one hand on the back of his neck.
Cabba's vision went black immediately, and he collapsed unconscious on the spot.
Renso: "..."
"Too weak," Caulifla said, shaking her head in disappointment. "Brother, don't let just any random stray into your squad."
Renso pressed a hand to his forehead.
He had wanted to teach his sister a lesson.
Instead, she had taught him one.
She really was a genius.
He had believed Cabba was already the best Saiyan of his age group.
Compared to his sister, though, the gap was enormous.
"Brother, I need a spaceship too," Caulifla said. "I'm going to Earth. One of my dearest sisters is suffering there. Her name's Kale."
Renso thought it over and nodded. "All right. Once I'm back, I'll have someone send you one."
Then his voice dropped. "But be careful. Those two men, Goku and Vegeta, seem to live on Earth too. Fortunately, they didn't look evil. As long as you don't go provoking them on purpose, you should be safe enough."
...
Universe 3, outer space.
Broly traveled slowly through space with Ai.
"Ai, do you remember? This is Universe 3. You used to manage it," Broly said.
"I remember..." Ai said, her body flashing softly.
"That planet up ahead. You used to visit it often. Let's stop there for a while," Broly said, pointing ahead.
"That's Violet Star," Ai said at once, recognizing it.
Broly said nothing more. He turned into a streak of light with Ai and flew toward Violet Star.
Three minutes later, the two of them hovered above the planet.
Its inhabitants had purple skin and pointed heads, their silhouettes almost like violet petals.
Back then, Ai had loved this planet.
"It hasn't changed much," Broly said, glancing down over the surface. "Looks about the same as before."
"It's only been four years," Ai replied with a nod. "Even if anything changed, it wouldn't be much."
As they were speaking, laughter rang out from far away.
Broly turned to look.
The figure was still extremely distant, but the moment Broly saw the man's back, surprise lit up his face.
"It's Ken..." Ai flashed even more brightly with delight. "He's on this planet too."
