Chapter 18 - The new king

On the other side of the world, the Iron Kingdom was no longer what it had been.

It was no longer an impregnable fortress, nor a stable throne.

Rather, its walls screamed with conflict.

Its alleys teemed with rebels raising banners of rage.

Under their feet, the people chanted, "No to the king, yes to freedom."

The leader of the rebellion was a mysterious man named Peter.

Everyone in the palace was afraid.

Servants whispered, soldiers hesitated to draw their swords.

The king sat on his throne, staring at the doors with trembling eyes.

Suddenly, a mysterious figure entered, wearing a black cloak, his face half-covered.

But the king recognized him immediately...His son, the heir to the Iron Kingdom

He turned to his father, the Iron King, and said calmly,

"Father, you must escape. The rebels are approaching the palace gate. Escape through the secret passage with your aide."

The king hesitated for a moment, but in his son's eyes, he saw something he couldn't fully comprehend... a mixture of sadness and determination.

Without a word, he fled with his aide through the hidden passage.

Hours later, the rebels stormed the palace and reached the throne room, ready to capture the king.

But there was no one there—just one man sitting confidently on the throne, his face still covered.

He took off his mask in front of everyone... and silence fell over the hall.

It was the heir himself.

The rebels were shocked. He had led them without ever revealing who he was.

The leader of the revolt was, in fact, of royal blood—the son of the very king they had revolted against.

The heir raised his hand and declared:

The revolt has succeeded. Today, a new kingdom begins.

Chants erupted from the crowd, but the heir remained silent.

Meanwhile, far from the palace, the king and his aide were escaping through the mountain paths,

disguised, but the king's face was too familiar to remain hidden for long.

Suddenly...

A stranger appeared from the trees, unknown to the king or his aide.

Before either could speak, a dagger was thrust into the king's heart, followed by the silent fall of his aide.

The assassin stood over the king's body and stared at him.

The king, struggling to raise his head, looked up...and saw his son, the heir.

Standing over his father's body, the heir took a slow breath and whispered:

"I'm sorry, Father... but you deserved this."

Then he turned and walked away.
