Chapter 16 – Slaying the Evil Spirit Orca King
The Evil Spirit Orcas were among the apex predators of the ocean — ruthless, bloodthirsty beasts that stood at the very top of the marine food chain.
Even when not hungry, they would slaughter endlessly, driven by pure instinct and malice.
Though a single orca wasn't as powerful as a Deep Sea Demon Whale, their pack mentality made them a threat even the Deep Sea Demon Whale King preferred to avoid provoking.
As one of the overlords of the sea, they had devoured countless sea soul beasts — and even human soul masters.
But today, Ghost Douluo's eyes were fixed on their king. That monstrous creature would become the source of his third soul ring for his second martial soul.
The moment Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo stepped into the dark sea region, a wave of chilling, murderous intent washed over them.
It was as if the ocean itself had come alive — a suffocating aura rising from the abyss below, filled with hatred and killing intent so intense that even the air trembled.
Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo hovered in midair above the rolling waves, gazing warily down at the black waters below.
The sea here had turned an unnatural shade of dark ink, as though corruption had seeped into its depths.
Beneath that black surface, a group of Evil Spirit Orcas rested in eerie silence — unaware of the two human intruders above.
Ghost Douluo's spiritual sense spread outward like mist, and he immediately locked onto a presence deeper in the shoal — one that dwarfed all others.
That power… vast, oppressive, and ancient. There was no mistaking it — the Evil Spirit Orca King.
Yue Guan's face hardened slightly. He had sensed it too.
"Old Ghost, those things… aren't going to be easy to deal with."
Ghost Douluo smirked faintly. "Good. I like challenges. Let's lure the big one out first."
With that, he deliberately released his soul power into the air.
The provocation was instant.
The Evil Spirit Orca pod erupted into chaos, their sharp senses picking up the foreign energy. The sea around them began to churn violently, waves rising like living beasts.
One after another, massive figures broke through the black waves — towering orcas with bodies over thirty meters long, their scales glinting with a cold, metallic luster.
Their scarlet eyes burned with bloodlust, and when they opened their jaws, rows of serrated teeth gleamed like forged blades.
A deafening roar shook the sea as the orca pack spotted the two figures floating arrogantly above their domain.
Their rage boiled over — this was the ultimate insult.
Their instincts kicked in. In a synchronized frenzy, they launched their first attack.
Jets of compressed seawater shot from their gaping maws, transforming midair into countless gray water blades that whistled toward Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo like a storm of steel.
Yue Guan sneered. "As violent as expected. Fine, let's play."
He unleashed his Chrysanthemum martial soul. Golden petals formed into razor-sharp blades that spun outward in a dazzling arc, clashing head-on with the incoming water blades.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Each collision rang like shattering glass, spraying droplets of water and fragments of light through the air.
Yue Guan's grin widened. "Let's see how you like this!"
From his left arm, the power of a hundred-thousand-year soul bone flared.
Dozens of bluish-violet thunder orbs formed around him, streaking through the sky like a rain of meteors.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions rocked the sea surface. Water columns shot into the sky, and black smoke billowed as several orcas cried out in pain, their thick hides scorched by lightning.
Enraged, the survivors thrashed violently, their attacks growing even more ferocious.
Ghost Douluo, meanwhile, moved like a phantom. His figure flickered between the torrent of water blades, dodging effortlessly. With the speed boost from his right leg bone, he slipped through the deadly storm with inhuman agility.
But he didn't strike back. Not yet.
He was conserving his strength — waiting for the king.
And then… the ocean roared.
A monstrous figure broke through the waves with a deafening crash, sending walls of seawater surging skyward.
Its body stretched over thirty meters long, muscles coiled with brutal strength.
Its skin shimmered with an eerie metallic sheen, and its eyes — two glowing crimson orbs — burned with unfiltered hatred.
The Evil Spirit Orca King had awakened.
Its guttural voice echoed like thunder.
"Pathetic humans! You dare trespass into my domain and provoke me! You are courting death!"
A surge of blood-red energy gathered in its maw before it unleashed a colossal energy slash — a crimson arc tearing through the sky toward Ghost Douluo with terrifying force.
Ghost Douluo's form blurred instantly, vanishing from where he'd been.
In the next heartbeat, he reappeared above the orca king's head, ghostly shadows rippling behind him.
"Beast," Ghost Douluo's cold voice echoed, his killing intent flaring.
"Face me!"
"Courting death!" the Orca King roared.
Rage boiling, it gathered energy once more, firing a beam of iron-gray light that split the sky. The attack streaked toward Ghost Douluo like a bolt of divine lightning.
Ghost Douluo didn't flinch.
Not even for a second.
With the power of his hundred-thousand-year-old left leg bone, Ghost Douluo's figure flickered and vanished in an instant, easily dodging the incoming strike.
"Beast, is that all you've got?"
Ghost Douluo deliberately provoked the Evil Spirit Orca King, forcing it to attack recklessly and drain its strength.
As expected, the massive creature took the bait. With a furious bellow, it unleashed a storm of crimson energy blades, blanketing the sky as they rained toward Ghost Douluo.
But none of those attacks could touch him.
Using his teleportation ability, Ghost Douluo moved like a phantom—appearing and disappearing in a blur of shadows.
On the other side, Yue Guan's battle with the adult orcas raged on. Explosions echoed across the sea; monstrous roars shook the air. The once-calm ocean had turned into a chaotic battlefield.
Several Evil Spirit Orcas had already fallen, their massive bodies either floating lifelessly atop the waves or sinking into the depths below.
Only then did the Evil Spirit Orca King realize—these two human Soul Masters hadn't come here by chance. They were prepared, powerful, and dangerous.
Sensing the threat, its eyes turned blood-red, burning with madness. It knew that if this continued, its kin would be slaughtered to extinction.
"Cunning humans! I underestimated you! You dare massacre my kin—you'll pay with your lives!"
Ghost Douluo's eyes gleamed coldly.
"Beast, you've devoured countless human Soul Masters. It's time to settle the debt!"
"Arrogant human! You'll end up as nothing but my prey!"
With a thunderous roar that shook the heavens, the Evil Spirit Orca King unleashed its ultimate domain skill.
A suffocating aura spread through the air—violent, frenzied, and bloodthirsty. The sea boiled beneath the weight of its power.
In that instant, the creature's aura soared to its peak.
Within its domain, even a Soul Master's spirit and will would be suppressed and distorted.
"Yue Guan, fall back!" Ghost Douluo shouted, his tone sharp and commanding.
Both retreated rapidly, but Ghost Douluo struck at the same time.
His True Ghost Demon Body emerged, activating his fifth soul skill—Night Parade of a Hundred Ghosts.
A dense black mist erupted from Ghost Douluo's body, enveloping the Evil Spirit Orca King.
Within moments, a black-and-red vortex nearly sixty meters wide had formed around the beast.
Inside that storm of energy, hundreds of identical ghostly clones materialized—each one moving with Ghost Douluo's speed, each one carrying both extreme cold and scorching heat within their strikes.
The black-red vortex collided with the orca's domain, fusing into a chaotic, distorted battlefield of frost and flame.
The Evil Spirit Orca King let out a maddened roar. The clashing dual energies seared its flesh and burned its spirit. Enraged and disoriented, it struck wildly at the countless phantoms assaulting its senses.
But gradually… its movements began to slow.
Then—at the very moment it paused to catch its breath—one of the shadowy ghosts teleported behind it.
Without hesitation, the phantom poured the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well Springwater directly into the vent on the creature's back.
The instant the liquid entered its body, the Evil Spirit Orca King felt as though a volcano had erupted inside its veins, while an abyss of absolute frost froze its organs solid.
Two opposing forces—one blazing, one freezing—raged through its body like twin dragons tearing through its meridians, shredding everything in their path.
Its massive frame convulsed uncontrollably. From the wound on its back, torrents of blood gushed out like fountains, dyeing the sea crimson.
"No! I, the King, will not fall… to mere humans!"
Its thunderous roar echoed across the ocean—filled with fury, unwillingness, and despair.
Burning its last shred of vitality, it tried to forcefully suppress the rampaging energies within.
But it was futile.
The Ice and Fire energies had already ravaged its insides beyond repair.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted. The monstrous body of the Evil Spirit Orca King burst apart from within, its abdomen torn open in a massive blast.
Flesh and blood rained down like a crimson storm, and the entire sea trembled under the force of the detonation.
Seeing their king fall, the remaining orcas shrieked in terror and scattered in every direction, fleeing desperately into the depths.
Not far away, a group of Demon Soul Great White Sharks were rapidly approaching, drawn by the violent energy fluctuations.
The leading shark, the Great White Shark King, froze in alarm as it sensed the lingering power in the air.
"Who… could possess such strength… to slay the Evil Spirit Orca King itself…?"
