Chapter 15 – Divine Thunder Descends, Thunder-Scale Battle Armor

The overwhelming energy of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Spring Water seeped into the Deep Sea Thunder Python's torn flesh, spreading rapidly through its colossal body.

Within moments, two polar forces — extreme cold and scorching heat — began to rampage inside it!

The python's once rock-solid body now suffered two opposite torments.

Some parts were frozen solid, with crystal-like frost crawling across its scales as each movement produced sharp, cracking sounds.

Other areas, however, were burned raw, scales falling away as molten flesh steamed and hissed, filling the air with the nauseating stench of charred meat.

The Deep Sea Thunder Python writhed madly in agony, its massive form thrashing and stirring the ocean into chaos.

Towering waves crashed outward in all directions, as if the sea itself shared its pain.

Ghost Douluo's expression turned grim.

He could sense that the python's life force was spiraling out of control. If it chose to self-detonate in its desperation, the resulting explosion would erase everything within this part of the ocean — including them.

There was no time to hesitate.

All nine of Ghost Douluo's soul rings flared at once. A chilling aura surged as he unleashed his strongest technique —

"Ninth Soul Skill — Infinite Ghost Shadow Devour!"

A massive black vortex appeared high above the python's head, devouring all light within its radius.

It was as if night itself had descended upon the sea.

Countless ghostly shadows surged out of the abyssal maw, each radiating an aura of annihilation.

The moment they touched the Thunder Python's body—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!!

A series of earth-shattering explosions followed one after another.

Each detonation tore open enormous holes in the python's body, and fountains of blood erupted into the air, dyeing the sea a deep crimson.

The Deep Sea Thunder Python's struggles gradually weakened. Its once-mighty form fell limp, floating powerlessly on the surface of the ocean, waves gently rocking its massive corpse.

Thin streams of blood-red mist rose from its wounds, fading into the salty air.

It was dead — completely, irreversibly dead.

The sea, moments ago a battlefield of thunder and flame, slowly returned to calm.

Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan exchanged a long look. Excitement — and a flicker of satisfaction — shone in their eyes.

"Old Chrysanthemum," Ghost Douluo said, his tone calm but brimming with pride, "let's claim its soul bone first."

The two of them rose into the air and darted toward the python's floating corpse.

Just then, a flash of blue-violet light streaked past them, shooting downward like a falling star before vanishing into the depths below.

"There it is!"

Ghost Douluo's eyes narrowed. He instantly released a soul power.

A surge of invisible energy rippled through the water, catching the fleeing light and drawing it into his hand.

As the glow faded, a crystalline soul bone emerged in his palm — clear as crystal, pulsing faintly with arcs of violet lightning.

The moment Ghost Douluo felt the oppressive power contained within it, his lips curved into a faint smile.

"A hundred-thousand-year soul bone," he murmured. Judging by its structure, it was the left arm bone of the Thunder Python.

Without hesitation, Ghost Douluo extended it toward Yue Guan.

"Old Chrysanthemum," he said with a grin, "this one's yours."

Yue Guan's eyes widened.

"Mine? This… this is a hundred-thousand-year soul bone! Are you serious?"

Even as he spoke, his hands trembled slightly.

Such a treasure was beyond priceless — fusing it would grant not one but two ten-thousand-year soul skills, enough to elevate one's strength to a whole new realm.

For a moment, Yue Guan was deeply moved. Ghost Douluo had awakened his second martial soul and still lacked several soul bones himself. Yet here he was, handing over such an invaluable relic without hesitation.

"Old Ghost, this is far too precious," Yue Guan said softly, shaking his head.

"You should fuse it first. When we find another one later, I'll take that instead."

Ghost Douluo simply smiled.

"We're brothers, aren't we? What's the point of being polite?"

He waved off Yue Guan's protest, his tone light but firm.

"I already have a hundred-thousand-year soul bone — and soon, I'll gain my second hundred-thousand-year soul ring. You, on the other hand, still don't have even one soul bone. Take it."

Before Yue Guan could reply, Ghost Douluo pressed the gleaming bone into his hand.

Yue Guan hesitated for only a moment longer. Feeling the majestic power pulsing within the soul bone, his hesitation melted into elation. He nodded firmly.

"Alright, then… I won't stand on ceremony."

"Good," Ghost Douluo chuckled. "Go ahead and fuse it. I'll adjust my condition and start absorbing the soul ring."

"Understood," Yue Guan said with a nod. "I'll stand guard for you."

The two stood together on the calm sea, the corpse of the Deep Sea Thunder Python drifting silently behind them — the storm that had shaken the ocean now replaced by tranquil waves.

Little did they know, the heavens above were once again gathering thunder…

Ghost Douluo released the Dragon Abyss Boat and sat within the cabin, quietly restoring his soul power. The previous battle had consumed a fair amount of his strength, and before absorbing a hundred-thousand-year soul ring, it was best to recover completely.

At the bow of the vessel, Yue Guan stood vigil, sharp eyes scanning the endless sea. His soul power surged faintly around him, warding off any potential danger that might interrupt Ghost Douluo's absorption process.

Over the corpse of the Deep Sea Thunder Python, a crimson mist began to gather and swirl, finally condensing into a brilliant blood-red hundred-thousand-year soul ring that pulsed with a violent rhythm.

Once his state was stable, Ghost Douluo began to absorb the soul ring.

He had done this once before — having already fused with a hundred-thousand-year ring in the past — so he was no stranger to the torrent of energy that came with it. Yet, the ferocity of this soul ring's power surpassed even Xiao Wu's.

The violent, chaotic thunder essence tore through his meridians like a wild storm.

But Ghost Douluo gritted his teeth and endured, using sheer willpower and soul control to tame the raging energy.

After a long struggle, the immense power finally yielded. The once-violent thunder force now flowed smoothly through his veins, merging seamlessly with his own soul power.

No one knew how much time had passed.

The first rays of dawn stretched across the horizon, fine threads of light spilling onto the dark sea. The rippling water reflected that soft glow like countless scattered gems, glittering with tranquil brilliance.

Ghost Douluo slowly opened his eyes. The oppressive pressure around him dissipated, leaving behind an aura of calm power.

Yue Guan smiled warmly.

"Old Ghost, finally done, huh?"

Ghost Douluo rose, stretching slightly.

"Kept you waiting. Now it's your turn to fuse that soul bone — I'll keep watch."

"Wait a minute!" Yue Guan's eyes gleamed mischievously. "You haven't told me what soul skills you got from this new ring yet!"

Ghost Douluo chuckled.

"This time, the two soul skills are quite similar to the Deep Sea Thunder Python's offensive and defensive abilities. The first one is called 'Divine Thunder Descent' — it lets me summon and control the power of lightning itself."

"The second," he continued, eyes flashing, "is 'Thunder-Scale Battle Armor.' Once activated, it forms armor of pure lightning energy — both defensive and offensive. It not only shields me but also retaliates with electric strikes against anyone who dares to approach."

As his words fell, two blood-red, hundred-thousand-year soul rings rose from beneath his feet, radiating overwhelming energy.

He lifted his right hand slowly. Instantly, the surrounding air crackled with electricity.

From the clouds above, thick bolts of blue-black lightning cascaded down like raging serpents, striking the ocean with deafening explosions that sent towering sprays of seawater into the sky.

Under the surge of soul power, Ghost Douluo's body became shrouded in a layer of blue-black armor, shimmering with a dangerous brilliance.

The armor's texture resembled the scales of the Thunder Python — tightly interlocked, flickering with arcs of electricity that danced across the surface.

Even Yue Guan, powerful as he was, felt his scalp tingle at the sheer intensity of the thunderous aura radiating from his old friend.

"Old Ghost," Yue Guan said in awe, "with this thunder power, your second martial soul's combat strength just skyrocketed!"

Ghost Douluo nodded with satisfaction.

"Indeed. My soul power has also risen slightly — I can feel the bottleneck loosening. You'd better start fusing that soul bone too. With luck, you might gain similar thunder abilities."

"Alright." Yue Guan could barely contain his excitement.

He took out the crystalline left arm bone and pressed it into his arm, beginning the fusion process.

Time passed quietly.

An hour later, powerful lightning surged from Yue Guan's body, flickering around him like living serpents of blue-violet light.

He opened his eyes, excitement blazing within them.

"Old Ghost, just as you said! I've gained thunder power too! Two soul skills — 'Thunder's Wrath' and 'Lightning Orb Burst' — and I can even channel thunder energy into my petal blades to form a Lightning Blade Tempest!"

Ghost Douluo grinned, raising a thumb in approval.

"Impressive, Old Chrysanthemum. Looks like you've caught up fast."

Yue Guan smirked proudly.

"All thanks to you, Old Ghost. So… what's next?"

Ghost Douluo's gaze turned toward the distant horizon.

"The sea's still full of prey. Let's go hunt another hundred-thousand-year soul beast."

"Perfect," Yue Guan replied eagerly. "Let's test the true power of our new soul skills."

Half a month later, the two stood above a vast stretch of ocean.

The waves below were darker and heavier than before — this was no ordinary sea.

"This place…" Yue Guan murmured, eyes narrowing.

"Only about five hundred kilometers from Sea God Island — the territory of the Evil Spirit Orca King."

Ghost Douluo smiled faintly, thunder still flickering in his eyes.

"Then that's our next target."
