Chapter 121 - Thor: What the Hell—My Father’s Dead?!

"I can't do this question!"

"It's too hard!"

If Zhou Cheng were here, the image of Yuan Hua kneeling and howling helplessly from Crazy Stone would instantly flash through his mind.

No other reason—Thor was exactly like him right now.

Possessed by Yuan Hua himself.

Really? That's it?

Coulson, who had held high expectations for Thor, couldn't help shaking his head in disappointment.

His boss had built up the hype, and that "homeless man" had looked so confident—like that hammer was his property.

For a brief moment, Coulson had actually believed the guy could lift it.

But the result? Same as before.

"God of Thunder can't lift his own hammer? That's got to be the biggest joke in the universe," Tony Stark said, unable to hold back a snort.

"Who says it isn't? It's as absurd as Batman fighting anyone and always winning—or Iron Man fighting anyone and always getting beaten," Black Widow added dryly, sneaking in a jab at the playboy himself.

Tony's lips twitched.

If you can't make small talk, maybe don't.

This was all Zhou Cheng's fault—he was the one ruining his reputation!

"Thor, what are you planning to do next?" Nick Fury asked after giving him a moment to vent.

"This… this can't be right. It shouldn't be like this," Thor muttered, staring blankly at the hammer. "There must be a mistake—I can't be unable to lift Mjolnir. Something's wrong."

"I know," Fury replied evenly—not comforting him, but genuinely agreeing. "Look, the hammer's not going anywhere. Why don't we head back first and think about this properly later?"

What else could Thor do?He couldn't just kneel here forever.

So with a heavy heart, he followed Fury back to the temporary base they'd set up for him.

"Thor, get some rest," Fury said seriously. "I'm not sure what you're used to eating in Asgard, but lunch's already prepared. I'll have someone bring it over."

Thor didn't stand on ceremony.

"Thank you. I'm indeed a bit hungry."

Ever since being exiled by Odin, he'd been through one exhausting ordeal after another. Both body and mind were drained.

Fury nodded and left him alone.

Thor closed the door, sat on the couch, and stared blankly into space.

To be stripped of his power and unworthy of his own hammer—such a drastic fall from grace was hard to swallow.

The once-proud prince of Asgard now sat in silence, a man broken by loss.

While Thor was drowning in despair, Zhou Cheng was living the complete opposite.

He lounged comfortably on a leather sofa worth more than a luxury car, hands flying across a gaming keyboard with fierce, lightning-fast clicks.

Before him, a massive multi-thousand-dollar display blazed with ultra-HD graphics and surround sound—pure bliss.

Now this is gaming.

What he'd been doing before? A total waste of time.

Truly, the life of the rich was another dimension of existence.

Clack clack! Whoosh whoosh!

The room was filled with the chaotic rhythm of button presses and sound effects—a symphony of indulgence.

After a few matches, Zhou Cheng's stomach began to grumble.

He logged out, strolled to the dining room, and enjoyed a lavish meal.

Since becoming a billionaire, he had completely embraced decadence—he didn't even cook anymore.

Everything came from top-tier restaurants.

And sure, those places were expensive—but worth every penny: fresh ingredients, flawless taste, and immaculate ambiance.

So what if his monthly dining bills equaled an average person's yearly salary?

He was rich. And money was meant to be spent.

Otherwise, what was the point of earning it?

"Let's see if there's anything interesting happening lately."

Back in his mansion, well-fed and relaxed, Zhou Cheng opened his computer again.

Taptap!

A few keystrokes later, the latest global news and trending topics filled the screen.

Most of it was boring nonsense—nothing worth his time.

Until—

"Meteorite crash in a small town in New Mexico."

"Authorities have intervened."

Zhou Cheng's eyes narrowed.

New Mexico?

Meteorite?

Could it be… Thor's hammer?

That was his first thought.

He quickly searched further—and the results confirmed his suspicion.

Aside from vague, sanitized reports, all solid information had been scrubbed clean.

Clearly, the truth was being suppressed.

In the past, Zhou Cheng might've been helpless in such cases.

But not anymore.

Not since he'd acquired Quake's super-hacking skills.

Taptaptap!

His fingers flew over the keyboard like a pianist.

In less than a minute, deleted images and restricted footage began popping up across his screen.

"Just as I thought—Mjolnir!"

The familiar hammer gleamed from the recovered photos, and Zhou Cheng's eyes lit up.

Perfect timing.

The Iron Man 2 storyline had gone completely off the rails—no Whiplash, no War Machine—he wasn't even sure where the MCU plotline was anymore.

But now that the hammer had fallen, it meant Iron Man 2 was over…

…and Thor was beginning.

Whether it would follow canon or not, though—that remained to be seen.

He jotted his thoughts down in his diary, recording every observation carefully.

Clink, clink!

At the temporary base in New Mexico, Thor was skillfully cutting his steak.

Though it was his first real Earth meal, he had no trouble adapting.

Cutlery existed in Asgard too, after all—slightly different, but similar enough.

As for the beef?

Technically, Asgard had cattle too, but Earth's version had a unique flavor—novel, even enjoyable.

Perhaps it was the meal, or perhaps the quiet time to reflect, but Thor's mood had stabilized.

He wasn't over it—but he was calm.

Clack!

Finishing the last bite, he patted his hands and started to rise—

—but froze.

"What's this?"

On the table beside him sat a black notebook he was certain hadn't been there before.

Had he missed it earlier?

No. Impossible.

Thor might not be the brightest, but he wasn't senile.

That notebook definitely hadn't been there before.

Could it be…?

A thought flashed in his mind, and his eyes lit up.

"Loki—is that you?"

He looked around eagerly, expecting his brother to step out of the shadows.

In his mind, only the greatest sorcerer in the Nine Realms—his brother Loki—could've placed this item here without being seen.

Surely, Loki couldn't bear to watch his brother suffer like this, and had secretly come to help him!

But no matter where he looked, Loki was nowhere to be found.

After a moment's thought, Thor "understood."

Of course—Loki must be avoiding Heimdall's gaze!

How considerate!

As expected of his clever brother.

If that's the case, then let's see what he's sent me.

Full of curiosity and excitement, Thor opened the notebook.

[Zhou Cheng's Diary]

"Huh?"

Zhou Cheng?

Who was that supposed to be?

Why would Loki use a fake name like that?

Thor frowned, utterly lost.

But he wasn't one to overthink complicated matters.

If Loki had done it, there must be a reason!

He flipped through the pages eagerly.

Though Thor spoke perfect English in the movies, no one knew what language Asgardians actually used.

Fortunately, the diary's magic automatically translated itself into the reader's native tongue—so every word appeared clear as day.

And soon, Thor's confusion only deepened.

What on Earth was this nonsense?

The diary was full of strange names and unfamiliar things—"superhero era," "Hydra," "Iron Man," "Captain America"…

Only a few scattered mentions of Asgard appeared at all.

Thor quickly skipped the irrelevant stuff, searching for familiar details.

Wait—what?

That Hulk creature could beat him up?

Ridiculous!

He was Thor, the mightiest warrior of the Nine Realms—no, the universe!

Who could challenge him besides Father?

And Loki… joining forces with aliens to invade Earth?

What nonsense was this?

Even mentions of chopping off a "purple potato man's" head and fighting on "Sakaar" left him completely baffled.

None of it made sense.

Then his eyes caught a line about his banishment.

What was Loki trying to tell him?

Thor's head hurt. His not-so-bright brain was reaching meltdown.

Loki! Just tell me what you want!

Why make this so complicated? I can't keep up!

Wait—hold on!

As he stared, new text suddenly appeared on the last page.

[Finally!]

[Mjolnir has fallen—Thor's story officially begins! His tragic life is about to unfold.]

[Right now, he's probably locked up in a psychiatric ward, isn't he?]

[One moment a godly prince, the next a delusional mortal in an asylum—what a fall.]

[And this is just the beginning. Once Loki arrives, things will only get worse.]

[His father's death, his exile from Asgard forever… I just hope Thor doesn't lose his mind.]

"What in the—?"

Thor's confusion deepened.

Storyline?

What did that even mean?

And why was Loki mocking him like this?

Sure, he and Father had disagreed—had a few… heated misunderstandings.

But tragedy? Madness?

Absurd.

He, Thor Odinson, would overcome anything.

Wait.

Loki is coming here?

For a brief moment, joy sparked in his eyes—

—only to fade instantly as the rest of the words sank in.

Father… dead?

Thor froze, eyes wide in disbelief.

"Loki… what are you talking about?!"
