Chapter 122 - My Brother Loki… Actually Wants to Kill Me?

Before Odin exiled Thor to Earth and fell into the Odinsleep, Loki had been maintaining his disguise all along.

A perfect disguise—so flawless that no one noticed a thing.

Even though jealousy toward Thor was already twisting his heart, and resentment toward Odin's favoritism had reached its peak, Loki never revealed any of it.

He merely allowed a few Frost Giants to infiltrate Asgard on the day of Thor's coronation, to quietly disrupt the ceremony—and that was all.

Truly worthy of the title "God of Mischief."

It wasn't until Thor reclaimed Mjolnir and returned to Asgard—when the two brothers battled upon the Bifrost in a clash that shook the heavens—that Loki finally dropped his mask.

Only then did he reveal his true face.

But before that?Like now, for instance—

Thor still trusted Loki deeply.

And precisely because of that, Thor was both baffled and angered by the diary's "spoilers."

What kind of nonsense was Loki up to?Wasn't this basically cursing their father? That was not a joke to make!

"Loki! Enough!"

"I don't care what you're planning, but it ends here!"

Thor's booming voice echoed as he glared around, irritation flashing in his eyes. Loki's disrespect toward Odin had pushed his patience to the limit.

Sure, before his exile, Thor had argued with Odin—and even called him an old fool in anger.

But deep down, Thor still held immense respect for his father.

"Loki!"

"Loki?"

Yet, unsurprisingly, Loki gave him no response.

Fuming, Thor turned back toward the diary again.

Permanently banished from Asgard?

What nonsense!

Impossible!

He was Thor, Prince of Asgard, son of Odin! Odin would have to be mad to banish him forever!

Just what kind of gibberish was Loki writing?

"Loki, he's really going to appear!"

In another room, Tony Stark stared at the diary before him, his expression darker than ever.

Zhou Cheng had once remarked that if the "New Mexico storyline" didn't deviate, then the "Battle of New York" would inevitably happen.

What Zhou Cheng meant was: if Thor 1 followed its original plotline, then Loki would fall into the cosmic abyss, meet Thanos, and set the New York invasion in motion.

But Tony and the other diary holders—lacking that context—completely misunderstood.

They now believed that since the Battle of New York was linked to New Mexico's events, Loki himself would appear there.

And now, the diary had just confirmed it!

The mastermind behind the Battle of New York—Loki—was indeed coming to New Mexico.

Tony's face grew grim, and he silently made a decision.

Whatever happened in New Mexico that led to New York's disaster, he, Tony Stark, would do everything in his power to stop it.

If he could strangle that war in its cradle—perfect.

If not, at least he'd done his best.

Whether it was Loki or that "Destroyer" said to flatten the New Mexico town—Tony was determined to intervene.

That wasn't the issue; the playboy's resolve had never wavered.

But—Odin dies?

That revelation caught Tony completely off guard.

Who was Odin again?The All-Father, the King of the Gods, ruler of the Norse pantheon—someone on par with Zeus!

How could such a heavyweight just die?

Of course, for Tony, that was far beyond his scope—he couldn't possibly guess how.

But one thing did worry him:

If Odin died, the balance across the Nine Realms—Earth included—would collapse!

The diary had already revealed that the "purple potato" (Thanos) avoided Earth partly because of Odin and the Ancient One's deterrence.

And Tony already knew that the Ancient One would die.

Now even Odin?

Damn—Earth really drew the short straw, losing both of its cosmic-level protectors one after another!

So that's why, in the "future superhero era," Earth was crawling with demons and disasters…

As for Thor's permanent banishment, Tony found that surprising too.

After all, Thor wasn't just any guy—he was a prince of the divine realm. Who'd expect him to be exiled?

But then again, maybe that's why Thor would join the Avengers.

Having nowhere else to go, he made Earth his home.

That actually explained pretty well how a godly prince ended up joining a team of mortals on another planet.

In that case, Thor's exile might even be a good thing for Earth.

The only question was: when would Thor regain his powers and lift Mjolnir again?

Indeed—thanks to the diary, Tony and the others knew Thor's current powerless state was only temporary.

He would reclaim his hammer and his glory eventually!

Tony even wondered if this ordeal was the "transformation" Zhou Cheng had mentioned.

Either way, Tony was intrigued.

[Thor may be a bit of an idiot, but credit where it's due—his mental endurance is top-notch. Respect.]

[From a lofty god-prince to a powerless mortal in an instant—his first emotional knockout.]

[Then he's told his father died and he's banished forever—second knockout.]

[Only to find out it was all a lie by Loki—massive relief after heartbreak.]

[And right when he's relieved, Loki tries to kill him—third knockout!]

"Bit of an idiot?"

Tony nodded vigorously.

Before meeting Thor, Tony had imagined countless versions of the so-called God of Thunder.

But when he finally met him—yeah, the difference was huge.

Honestly, Thor looked like a total moron!

At first Tony thought maybe he was misjudging him, that Thor was "wise but simple."

But now that the diary itself confirmed it—nope, the guy was just dumb!

Apparently, idiocy wasn't limited to Earth; even gods could have it!

Intelligence really was a rare commodity.

Feeling a flicker of smug superiority, Tony brushed it aside and kept reading.

Good—false alarm! Odin wasn't actually dead.

It was all Loki's trick.

Truly the God of Mischief—no bottom line at all.

Even faking his father's death? Unreal.

Then again, for someone who'd lead an alien army to invade another planet, morality wasn't exactly his strong suit.

But wait—Loki came to New Mexico to kill Thor?

That… Tony didn't see coming.

Thor was his brother!

And at a time when Thor had lost his powers and been exiled, no less?

Whatever Loki's reasons, his hatred for Thor clearly ran deep.

And if that was true—then maybe the "Destroyer" was sent specifically to deal with Thor.

The diary had already said it: the Destroyer was Asgard's ultimate weapon, forged by Odin himself to fight the Celestials.

If such a weapon was being dispatched, its target had to be formidable—and Thor fit the bill.

So the battle that nearly leveled the New Mexico town must've been between Thor and the Destroyer.

Meaning Thor must've regained his godly power right before that showdown!

After piecing things together, Tony had a rough idea of the cause and effect.

Soon, New Mexico would become the battleground for the two brothers.

The only thing left uncertain was the role of the Warriors Three and Lady Sif.

"Just what does Loki mean by all this?"

In front of another diary, Thor looked completely bewildered.

First it said Odin died—then it said he didn't—that it was a lie.

And now Loki wanted to kill him?

What kind of madness was this?!

Had Loki gone insane—or…

Was this diary not actually Loki's?

Was it that Zhou Cheng fellow's instead?

Could there really be sorcerers in Midgard?

Even if there were—and even if Zhou Cheng was one—why give him this diary?

Why fill it with such absurd ramblings?

Thor felt his brain start to ache.

[The mess in New Mexico had barely ended, and now Thor returns to Asgard only to watch his brother fall into the cosmic abyss—dead!]

[Another massive emotional hit!]

[As Sister Grenade says: life's ups and downs are way too much!]

[Thor's few days in New Mexico were more dramatic than most people's entire lives.]

[And he didn't lose his mind—impressive.]

[No, more than that—he even managed to live comfortably on Earth.]

[Flirting with his future girlfriend—life was good! If the Warriors Three hadn't shown up, Odin might've gained a daughter-in-law right then and there.]

Tony was speechless.

Zhou Cheng's commentary wasn't wrong—Thor's adventure in New Mexico was pure chaos: one twist after another, no, five twists in total.

Father dead, father alive, brother wants to kill him, brother dies…

Talk about whiplash—one moment in the clouds, the next in the pit.

Anyone else would've had a breakdown.

But Loki's death?

That part made Tony frown.

Loki—the mastermind of the New York invasion—the one who stole the Tesseract—dead?

That didn't line up.

And Thor—he was also in New York later!

Fighting beside the Avengers against Loki and the Chitauri!

So if Loki died after New Mexico, how could he later lead the invasion?

That made no sense.

Tony frowned, thinking hard.

Clearly, the New Mexico incident wasn't simple. There must be missing pieces the diary hadn't revealed yet.

After mulling it over, he gave up trying to untangle it.

Instead, he read on—only to sigh in exasperation again.

Seriously? Thor was flirting in the middle of all that?

Maybe they really were kindred spirits after all.

Meanwhile, before another diary, Nick Fury's single eye gleamed sharply.

This was good news.

If Thor formed stronger ties with Earth, that was exactly what Fury wanted.

In fact, he was already considering giving fate a little push—

If possible, he'd personally help make that relationship happen.

He just wondered… who exactly was the woman mentioned in the diary?
